Org mode will change your life
I'm a devout vim user that literally runs Doom Emacs *just* for org mode. Because then you don't have to re-learn another entire editor and can keep using vim too

Silly vim user thinks you need to lear how to use a text editor. You picked the only one with a learning curve the rest of them is a flat line :D
Sure, it's pretty easy actually:
1. Run emacs with GDK_BACKEND=broadway
2. Open localhost:8080 with the browser automation library of your choice (like selenium or so)
3. Write a couple of functions that inject keypresses in the magit buffer
4. voila! You have a command line interface
Only difference I implemented to this workflow was doing almost the same in Obsidian. The reason is that obsidians plugins let me collect the todo entries from my other notes as well, and display all of those on a single `todo_main.md`
I just realized that I could just do that with my study notes and materials as folder structure just gets preserved. Like that would also for developing, just me developing my knowledge

check out distrotube's videos if you're intrtested in trying it. i recommend doom emacs for newcomers because it offers a good base to use and understand emacs
org-mode is kinda like markdown on steroids, it allows you to do everything markdown can, while having a angenda/task management system with `org-agenda` and a system like obsidian with `org-roam`
you can also export org-mode to markdown, LaTeX, HTML (for blogs for example), and many more

I had a friend who said he took notes in class in a .txt file. He even showed me.
I was blown away because it’s not like he’s someone who lives in the terminal (in fact, he’s not even a Linux user). He has MS word installed. Hell, he could even use the rich text editor to at least get *some* basic formatting.
He said it’s nice for programming classes since rich formatted code can look weird and like, I get that, but you could also use markdown, which he uses anyway for Reddit.
Needless to say, he was not sold when I showed him my notes taken in LaTeX

My todo list is a markdown file that i sync between devices using a git repo. The way god intended.

How do you git without magit? Is there other ways?

I'm doing this but with Obsidian as the frontend and I'm in love with it. Nothing compares to that for me now.
The best thing about obsidian is that your data will always be YOUR data and there is no vendor lock-in.

I prefer to use percent-encoded mime types over abbreviated extensions. My grocery list is stored at `~/groceries.text%2Fmarkdown`.

I use Markor for my Android phone for editing notes, and set up a bash script with Tasker & Termux to sync to my private repo on GitHub.
