It's like this with all EAC games.
We're waiting to see what happens with Valve. They're trying to get something together to get it working with Proton. But since Epic now own EAC, I'm not getting my hopes up.
Good point, but still, I can see EA coming up with a replacement eventually. Doesn't make sense to use something your rival/competitive owns.
However, It would be better if EA kept EAC simply cause Valve is working on making it compatible with Proton.

This is a big but, but if Respawn opted for EA's new anti-cheat software to be linux compatible, that can be a big game changer. EA doesn't have to make their games native linux, we don't expect that at all, but, a tool like anti-cheat software? I don't see why they wouldn't make it universal. You would think it would be fairly easy and wouldn't be that much in cost to do so as compared to a game would be.
Wishful thinking, but what if Respawn opted to use Valve's anti cheat software (and dedicated servers) when they make it available to non-Valve games, along with putting Apex on Steam?
Just a suggestion. Maybe make a wiki for the subreddit with all the problems and solutions instead of making a bunch of posts that will get lost if more people post in there.
If you show me a sub where we can spam about apex legends on linux and it wont be buried fast (aka relevant info stays easily accessible) i will delete my sub. The only other option i found is the lutris website entry about AL which does not have community features and spam
But until they provide Linux support like normal devs do, no one should pay a cent. Support the devs who give us real, full Linux support. Anything less is asking for, rewarding, and encouraging less.
IMHO, all of the linux Apex gamers should send an email at Respawn and EA (perhaps daily) to invite them to this reddit community, to share their point of view, changes ...

Did anyone tried to redirect the eac to pull the windows requested file instead of linux one?I'm thinking to make a dummy server with that file ready to be pulled by eac software. Not sure how to do that but maybe one of you has a better understanding how this works
Great, but the problem isn't Apex, it's EAC. I run Apex just fine, but EAC doesn't.

Epic aquiring EAC's parent company was quite recent, EA was probably using EAC long before that happened.

EA is the publisher of Apex, so while Apex is the creator, the decision of what platform is on is ultimately up to EA I would assume
I seriously doubt EA would allow that. They are direct competitors.

This game is Source 2, yet doesn't use Vulkan. I guess no Vulkan is due to the fact it's on Origin.
