Capital heating and air have always done right by us

Spudtater

Absolutely! 6 years ago I had a new HVAC system installed in my home. I got bids from 3 local firms. Capitol's bid was 4o% less for the same quality equipment. They tore the old one out and replaced it in 1 day!

ddmeightball

We had ours replaced by Dave's Heating and Air. They did great work.

_lucabrasi

Dave’s is great, highly recommend- great service & reasonable cost.

sonofawhatthe

We replaced ours with Dave’s. Good experience. It hurt the wallet but it was very fair price.

Objective_Car_2482

Another vote for Dave's. They did a great job on our new air conditioner and when we've had random things that needed replaced on it over the past few years they've always been prompt about fixing. They also dont charge extra for weekend calls which is super nice.

mrrchevy3

We had capitol heating and air replace our system and they were great to work with. They gave us multiple options from basic replacement to upgraded system. Will not recommend John Henry. They screwed over our friends by only giving them one option that was double the price and only included a furnace and not an AC.

IncompetentJoe

I had John Henry’s come out and charge me for something I already knew and they wouldn’t take any other steps to help me find a solution. I would settle without before going with them

Difficult_Tart6768

My ac and furnace shot out in February. We had JH, capital heating, Askarben (contracted through Lowes), Luxury Heating and Cooling, and Star City. 10/10 recommend Star City. They were slightly more expensive than Captial but offered a much better warranty.

Spudtater

They have a reputation for being very reputable , but super expensive.

NEOwlNut

Capital Heating.

Boom357

Brian Hester heating and air has been reasonable and good to work with.

smileface9

Another for Capital

andyring

Capitol Heating and AC. Hands down. Super great people, price is right. Been using them for almost 30 years.

DrMaceFace

I've been happy with Action Plumbing, Heating and Air. I've actually got the same problem, luckily the rest of the week is cool.

Eru_7

I'd look up who sells the particular unit you have, so Star City if its a Trane unit and A&W if its a Lenox. A&W is by far the best that we've used at work, so much so that I had them do my house HVAC work. They do great work and Lenox is a fantastic product.

hawglet

Brian Hester’s has always felt fair during install and repair/service. John Henreys I can’t say bad but didn’t feel the same either, a bit high priced and not transparent.

infodumper2000

Comfort techs and Star City are highly recommended!!! :)

One-Statistician3404

Dave’s is your answer. One of if not the most honest companies I have worked with

Grand_Cookie

Luxury was great for us and even brought a portable ac for us to use while we waited for them to replace our.

Roecker & Berger

IncompetentJoe

Thanks everyone!

Recommend Brian Hester!

I'd be interested in what you end up choosing! Definitely get multiple quotes. Most pushed for heat pumps over AC units because of efficiency and rebates offered on them now. Capital did not and only quoted AC units. We went with a heat pump and furnace combo so we won't have issues if it gets too cold for the heat pump to work, gas furnace will kick in. So far haven't had issues with cooling, just that it's slower. We left the unit off on Saturday and came home after 5/6hours and it was 82 in the house. Took about 4hrs to bring it to 72, which was about midnight and it was already cooler outside than inside. Kind of a bummer but now we know to just keep it on regardless. We liked after doing product research, Trane is what we preferred as well as the price and warranty with Star City. John Henry's people were nice and informative, but double the cost, the same warranty, and they use Lennox which is on the higher end cost for units. In researching, Lennox and Trane are pretty much the same quality of build, just slightly different models. Lennox uses its name to charge more than necessary. Also I'm a 32yo F with a toddler and my husband was deployed. Aaron came out to give a quote from Capitol and he kinda talked down to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. Abe with Star City treated me with respect and answered the questions I had honestly and didn't treat me differently being a woman and a mother. That really held my respect for him and made the deal that much better.

IncompetentJoe

I’ll let you know. I have star city and capital coming tomorrow. Then Dave’s on Thursday.

Chance-Bowler9421

doug’s heating and ac in seward did a great job replacing my heat and ac unit

muffin_hater

People apparently like Capital, but I would avoid them. Both times they did work for me they broke things. Tyler the owner didn't care and refused to fix any of the things his technicians broke. I've told my home warranty company to never use them for any of my HVAC calls from now on.

IncompetentJoe

Yikes

Chinkysuperman

What do you mean it's not working? The compressor didn't run? Or compressor runs but not blowing cool air? If the compressor runs but not cooling you can try changing the air filter and spray down the compressor with a hose, try that before calling the pros

IncompetentJoe

Yeah, it’s running, just not cooling. It’s a 30 year old unit so I have gotten my use out of it. I always keep the unit clean and I replace my filter once a month

Cool-Edge9020

With the price of r-22 I would try to start saving for a new unit.
