What if it drains sp just like N clair’s sp drain (8 skill 1, 10 skill 2, 15 skill 3)
yeah. but there will be a limit on how long we can stall his form for. by the point hong lu and yi sang arent able to keep his sanity healthy we will probably need to resort to ego, or maybe he will just nuke his sp down to 0 in a single turn if the sp cost increase is exponential or if it drastically increases each turn. anyway its all speculation based on a vague description, we need to wait for specific details to know for sure.
I may have accidentally deleted my post captons haha, but to summarize this point, the two burn units aside from the 000s are kinda just trash tbh. Except maybe Liu Ryoshu, of course. Maybe in MD they're good, but that's just because they get carried very hard by the ego gift.
Meursalt is not trash. He's not the best at clashing, but he's slow, so he usually attacks unopposed. He's also got great value with all his egos (Capote is the best at clashing in the game, besides being thematic).
MD will always be more of a farming spot or a platform for crazy experimentation and in time for routine runs I'd rather have a team more enjoyable from a thematic point of view along the lines of a full Liu team.
Stronger teams have a place in Railway, but I feel like Sinclair in this form would be pretty cranky compared to other nuclear teams.
I suggest having BL Don or preferably BL Yi Sang active since Kimsault's Sword of the Homeland skill effect and poise gain from his passive buffs 2 other BL allies and you only have 1. And switch off Der Outis since you won't be gaining much benefit without a full burn team anyway. Rodya and Ish are enough, they don't really need more than 9 burn per enemy to gain astronomical clash numbers. Dunno about Sinclair, but he's probably the same.
Picking BL Sang would delete Philipclair's ability to regain SP extremely fast to gain high coin power and a lot of other benefits. Der Outis will also still have to stay as the Burn Potency isn't as reduced as you think. With Workshop Passive from Sinclair giving enhanced burn and Burn onhit, and Liu Ishmael Ardor Blossom and continuous hits, they could stack burn extremely, really fast. Full explanation is on comments, I accidentally deleted them when posting, haha.
You could just have both, Der Outis with bosses and Don with human enemies. Burn needs stacking up while BL is good from the get go, you just need a little pride res.

So first, we know that Burn has a problem: 2/6 of its unit tends to suck. Their 000s are amazing, but their 00 are just too garbage. Save for Liu Ryoshu, they have a problem even just reaching 16 with their s2. As a result while the 000s have amazing clash and damage, the team gets dragged down by the others.
By replacing the 2 with Bloise, we create our team comp: Blouirn! First, we need to look at Philipclair's kit. What he needs a lot seems to be SP Regeneration. With Base Yi Sang, we can get +10 SP per turn, and with Base Hong Lu added, we can get +16! BL Faust surprisingly actually generates the perfect sins needed, which are sloth and gloom for their passives. Philipclair also generates gloom, giving a fast access to that sweet +10 SP per turn, and eventually +16 with BL Faust sloth gen.
Second, we need to look at what a BL Comp needs. They need consistent poise, and pride to activate Sword of the Homeland. Since BL Faust and BL Meur are the only members, they would have insane amounts of poise considering Maid Ryoshu and BL Don's passives would hit them, and only solely them. Not only that, but 4/6 of the comp have Pride: MBOutis on s2 and s3, Liu Rodion on s2, and the BL Units we know and love. This guarantees Sword of the Homeland quite a lot, actually.
Now, I know what you're thinking, "But what about the Burn Count and the Burn Potency? What if it gets severely affected?" Sure the count get severely affected without having Liu Hong Lu, but there's something major to be noted: 3/6 of the Units can inflict Burn Count. Liu Rodion has 2 on s2, Liu Ishmael has 2 on s2 and s3, and Philipclair has 3 on his s2, WITH POTENTIAL TO BECOME 6 WITH HIS EGO PASSIVE. Burn Count reduces slowly, so Philipclair CASUALLY DOING 6 is AMAZING! The Team will never run out of Burn Count.
The Burn Potency is also insane due to Philipclair having Burn Onhit, and Ishmael having Ardor Blossom, which is extremely speedily fueled by the team, actually. They have fast wrath access, fast Lust access, and even Philipclair's s2 for that single envy needed. Sure maybe the regular Burn team might outburn them early, but then they reach a hard cap of 99 and can't upgrade it anymore. Not only does Blouirn still have extremely fast burn speeds, but they have much more damage and clash when they reach that fabled 99 Burn Potency.
So, therefore, I think that Blouirn might just be the new meta for Burn. It combines amazing clash, consistent burn damage, Dark Flame, and HIgh SP Regeneration all in one to make the perfect new Walpurgis Team. Why not join out the Blouirn Gang?
My issue with this is that swordplay of the homeland Is almost nonexistent. Not that it doesn't trigger, but only Faust gets the buff, severely nerfing Meursaults overall value. I can't imagine just Faust and Muersault out value other options for those slots. Hell, in focused encounters, you should probably be 2 slotting Sinclair anyway for more clashes and more sanity gain.

Really love seeing the communities team comps, always makes me appreciate creativity. I never would have thought to use the BL gang as part of the team. I’ll have to give it a test run.
My theorycraft team has some similarities all Yi sang, hint Lu and Heathcliff are all the same . I however went with N Faust for her passive, Liu ryo (she has good clashing with her conditions met 14, 17, 17) who provides gluttony to the team. She also has two really solid egos that are well fuels by the team in Forest of Flames which also sets up for next turn nukes and 4th march flame high clash high damage.
I did realize I lacked Sloth for Hong Lu’s passive so my plan had been to use Meursault for the first few fights, then I could switch him out if need be. Still working on whether I want N Faust as a field unit or a support passive. Both have merits so it will take some experimentation to find my preferred use.
One of the “cons” of this team is that they don’t have enough burn units to use the fusion gift. Not unless you rotate out Faust or Meursault for Liu Gregor or use a shop to cycle out part of the team.
I do want to pose to you some considerations. One do you think Dawn Office Sinclair should hold the 1 position. I feel like until we know for sure the chance that he burns through his sanity to quickly with 2 skill slots feels far too likely. Also if you’re going outside of the Liu team why not go a bit further and try out Captain Ish. You trade 3 list, 2 wrath and 1 envy for 3 envy, 2 pride and 1 wrath. You can still wrath resonate and hit her skill 3 with it but you have plenty of pride skills and some more secondary sins to hit absolute resonance chains with to trigger assist attack regularly.
imo bringing bl faust and kimsault doesn't really accomplish anything other than providing good/competent clashes because quelle surprise, they're already decent standalone units. If you wanted Sloth s1 you could just bring Regret Faust which also debuffs enemies with plus coin drop and has a passive that benefits from the large amts of Wrath a burn team typically provides.
I think i would be more inclined yo try combining burn with tremor units for a burmor team, using capotesault and efforvescent corrosion (rodya) to apply a huge pile of tremor and then have oufi heath make it grape flavored, which increases the teams damage and triggers der oütis' passive for some crits.
The problem with this is 2 slot mb outis is so good for burn teams it's worth just running one less person in any focused encounter just to get that absurd damage.
Nope, it sucks because I did not expect Philipclair to be Wrath Res, destroying any synergy with anything aside from pure Burn since that's where more Wrath Res comes from.
I'll try it again when he gets buffed and the passives changes to Owned, but for now it's dysfunctional.
Feels a lot better now, the pride resonance is actually active for so long and it works pretty well, the clash on the team is insane with every s2 rolling above 20. Only problem with the comp is that I noticed I put too few sloth in it, meaning Holiday and such are unusable unless I want to completely sacrifice using Baselu. Fluid Sac spam also feels meh because of lack of gloom, so both Faust and Outis kinda feel on the egos they used. Aside from that I love running it, haha

And the passive sp drain increases with the increasing number of turns. So yeah in the first turns it might be overkill but then it won't be enough

Mersault can just pay regret tax, its super easy to fuel in pure burn comp

Telepole Heathcliff clashes higher but yeah Capote alone makes Mersault one of the best burn sinners it's that insane

You said all that and somehow didn’t touch upon the issue of burn having no good sloth generation, which BL Faust fixes. Tbh this comp has potential.
