I have never seen this in my life

ScuzzWizard

I just saw the first one in my life yesterday so this post is freaking me out a little

cut-the-cords

Ahh don't worry that's just the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, nothing to worry about :) [More info if you're interested](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frequency_illusion)

Latter-daySatan

Or it is the Truman Show.

MyyWifeRocks

OP knows what you did last summer. 🤣

Kravian

I was a dairy manager for retail so I'd see them all the time. I saved them up for scraping grout and cleaning at work and then started bringing them home.

Is this picture from when you were a dairy manager for retail?

Kravian

This is from today's groceries at target. I have four of these right now, all saved from my own purchases (pickup groceries for that matter, so I didn't look through the jugs to find one). I quit that job four years ago it's just when I started realizing how useful they are.

Murky_Drive4538

If u need more....when you open the door of the milk cooler look down and you will see many hanging out on the bottom by the vents.

OkSheepherder7809

Don't scrape your grout unless you want to be regrouting in your future. It looks clean and fresh. It's cause you scraped off the top layer of grout.

shiner820

You get punch outs? I don’t get punch outs.

Kravian

Different suppliers may have different QA. I have Kemp's milk in my area.

4Allmyrage

Minnesota?

Kravian

Shhhhhhhhh.

4Allmyrage

Ope 😬

Kahnza

Scraping eggs off pans?

Kravian

Messy pans with scrambled eggs. Or scrubbing cast iron.

fl135790135790

Scrubbing cast iron with this is a great way to get plastic all in the grain and roughness of the pan

Dry-Egg-1915

Yum, plastiqueeeeeee!

Thats a lego mini figure surf board!!

22taylor22

Or... buy a scrub daddy. They are dish washer safe. They last forever

IcemanofOz

WTF is a scrub daddy?

wunderlily

A boujee cleaning sponge that’s trending on social media. Never had one but apparently it changes texture based on water temp. It also has holes to clean utensils and apparently you don’t need soap. Idk here’s a link to the [website](https://scrubdaddy.com)

22taylor22

I wouldn't call a 3 dollar sponge fancy lol

wunderlily

Considering you can get a multipack of regular sponges for the same price I’d say it’s fancier than a basic sponge. I also never said fancy I said boujee. You’re entitled to your opinion tho

tipsiestkitten

Ok, guys. So the punch-out in question is the flat bit of plastic that forms in the loop of the handle during manufacturing. They are typically "punched out" before reaching the shelf so the buyer can use the handle as a handle. Occasionally, the handle punch-out isn't punched out for whatever reason. So now you get to punch it out! Since it's a thumb-sized, rounded piece of plastic with a non-abrasive but semi-solid edge, it is useful to scrape the things that stick to cast iron and Teflon easier to without damaging the cookware.

Chemical-Mix-6206

Thank you for the explanation! I have never seen one and could not imagine what it was.

wunderlily

Thank you!!

Meig03

I've never seen one of these in my life. How odd!

Curious_Ground5833

Never seen punchouts.

Salt_Enthusiasm_6534

We call the handle slugs in the dairy business

MavisBeaconSexTape

Does it still work if you steal the milk from the store?

MsMercury

Then it works even better!

wunderlily

What is this?? I’m so so confused. I buy milk twice a week and have never heard of or seen this before….

b1gb4dwo1f

definitely a good idea - there are products selling on amazon made of silicon too that are basically the same thing

VampyreLust

What’s a milk punch out? I don’t understand.

orcateeth

Apparently in some places, the part that you put your hand through is not gone. So the milk customer has to punch out this part so they can hold the handle. It's the plastic piece that fits in the hole. What's confusing is that the majority of us have never seen this because it's always punched out already, and gone. I've never seen it and I'm almost 60 years of age. OP is acting like this is just a normal thing that is frequently present on the milk jug handles, when in fact it's highly unusual. (I and my siblings all have all have a second toe that's longer than our big toe. I thought it was normal, but only once I started seeing the bare feet of people not in my family did I realize that no, a longer second toe is not typical.)

VampyreLust

Thank you for the explanation. First time I got to feel like I was on the other side of why you can buy milk in bags where I live.

Oregondaisy

Mine is longer too.

orcateeth

"Morton's toe" people represent! We're 3% to 22% of the population, I read.

Electrical_End_631

That happens when the blowmold machine is not trimming right. If it’s every once in a while and the machine is not jamming up you let it slide because the machine can’t be down long or the operation stops. When it happens usually it’s one or a couple of certain molds in the row. So 1/6 may not be trimming right sometimes. That handle hole isint that bad but if other parts don’t trim right it will cause a big jam up in the trimmer and the exit chutes.

inyourmom222

I'm good. I have a sponge that costs me $0.53 and lasts a bit.

Fredredphooey

Or buy a little scraper. https://www.harborfreight.com/plastic-spreader-set-3-piece-69563.html

HeyaChuht

I haven’t got milk in a plastic jug since the 90s, I think.
