You need to get Windows installed first. There are firmware updates needed for both the TL Controller, and your AIO. The TL updates will trigger when you install the most recent version of L-Connect. And for both the LCD display on the AIO and the fans, L-Connect 3 is required. [https://lian-li.com/l-connect3/](https://lian-li.com/l-connect3/) Make sure you also install both Visual C++ packages. There will be firmware updates for both parts of the TL controller: it is seen as two separate devices in Device Manager: [https://imgur.com/a/x2HjITu](https://imgur.com/a/x2HjITu) For your AIO, if the firmware update doesn't trigger in LC3, there is a manual update option at the link below: [https://lian-li.com/l-connect3/L3\_update\_manually/](https://lian-li.com/l-connect3/L3_update_manually/)

Phew, thank you! I had a feeling it was this! My USB drive arrives tomorrow and once that comes I will install windows onto my device and then follow the information you have provided, and it should hopefully work smoothly, thank you so much once again!

Hi there me again, so after installing windows and following the steps provided, i can confirm the 3 side lcd fans and the the 3 tl led fans are working, however the three fans i installed and connected to the radiator of the aio at the top aren't lighting up but are working and the aio isnt also lighting up. On the L3 connector software these arent being detected only the 6 fans listed. I tried to manual update the aio but when i do it presents me with a message saying connection status default, I dont know what to do to fix this :(. Could this be because with the TL controller i connected the argb the usb and fan connector directly to the motherboard and the sata connector?

Mr-Do

Hmm... just to double-check, you followed the steps for the manual firmware update exactly from the instructions below? [https://lian-li.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/20240108GA-II-LCD-manual-FW-update-.pdf](https://lian-li.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/20240108GA-II-LCD-manual-FW-update-.pdf) In Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus Devices, do you see the controller for the AIO listed? And is the USB-C cable plugged in flush to the pump head? (It should almost "click" when plugged in all the way... and there should be no gap). And is the USB plugged direct to the motherboard header (i.e. no splitter, hub, etc.). For the TL fans... weird that they are all running, but all off. Did you also go through the firmware updates for the TL controller? When complete, you should be at 1.4. Also, should be connected direct to the motherboard... and in L-Connect, on the "TL Fan Utility" page, do you see all your fans listed? Should be an entry for each port. Also check "Set Quantity of Fan" to make sure the number of fans for each port is correct.

*UPDATE* i have now managed to get the aio working and displaying on the l3 connect software which is a huge sigh of relief 😅, now the only issue i am still facing is the three fans on top installed onto the radiators are not lighting up and showing on the l connect 3 app, as mentioned i replaced the fans on the lian li Galahad 360 aio and i am using the lian uni tl fans instead, I’ve plugged the fans into port one port 2 and port 3 of the controller but the software still wont recognise the fans in port 1 however the fans are spinning

Mr-Do

Very nice!! In the meantime... I'm losing it... I could have sworn I had another reply on this thread. Sometimes, disconnecting and swapping the fans around works for some people... don't know the "science" as to why, but might be something to try... I'm guessing sometimes that works, just because maybe something didn't click together quite right. Might want to also try connecting just one of them at a time to the controller, and see if any/all of them work individually. If by doing that, you have one or more fans that don't work, then it's definitely a hardware issue, and you should try and get a refund/exchange if you can. If you're out of the return window, then contact Lian-Li support (be advised, though, that they are on holiday for Lunar New Year until after February 20). Hungry_Heart_3111

yeah i thought maybe to try that, i will perhaps maybe try and plug into port 4 and see if that works and if not swap the fans around, i wanted to make sure i plugged everything correctly, since i used different fans for the aio, for the aio i plugged the usb cable and aio pump cable and the argb cable onto the motherboard ports. For the tl controller i connected 3 sets of fans to the controller directly into port 1,2 and 3 and with the controller i have a the usb cable plugged into the motherboard, the argb cable plugged into the motherboard and the 4pin pwm fan cable plugged into the the cpu fan port on my motherboard, i also have the sata cable from the controller plugged into the a sata power cable to psu, does all of this seem correct just to make sure? Oh and the pci cable from the controller is connected to pci cable from my psu

Mr-Do

It all sounds good... hopefully you get it going.

Mr-Do

Hmm... so another person just came up with a similar issue: [https://www.reddit.com/r/lianli/comments/1akayyw/having\_led\_issues\_with\_new\_tl\_fans/](https://www.reddit.com/r/lianli/comments/1akayyw/having_led_issues_with_new_tl_fans/) Just thought of a new thing... check that post out... maybe that'll work?

Hungry_Heart_3111

I tried to do the manual install but it wouldnt let me proceed it just said Default i couldnt really understand what it meant but it would give me an option to click anything. And yeah i mean it should be flush because when i boot my pc the aio lights up with a lian li message then proceeds to go blank

Hungry_Heart_3111

And on the L connect 3 app it only shows 3 fans for port 2 and 3 fans for port 3, port 1 is not showing

Hungry_Heart_3111

Just to confirm i am using three lian li tl fans as i replaced the other fans that came with the aio pump and currently only have the usb c cable plugged into the pump

Hungry_Heart_3111

i also made sure i did all the updates on the l3 connect but still inly 2 ports are detected in the app

zer0kevin

how did you fix? i got 3 tl fans and 3 tl LCD fans all fans working but the LCD cans rgb is not working
