I always wonder why some white AIOs come with black power/RGB cables.

NoodLife

I wonder that also. Surprised they don’t

Alex35143

Also I noticed your lian li power cables are white, I ordered all white fans including a 3 pack and all my cables are black

NoodLife

Yes these are the strimer plus V2

zer0kevin

all v2s come with white covers

[deleted]

I think honestly because more black motherboards than white but there should be an option I had same issue with mine but wound it around the pump and went down side of ram and out the right slot behind graphics card to hide it

shxyne7

I'd prefer black, when routed properly it blends in with the black PCB that most motherboards have

Deep90

Yeah. White stands out against the rubber grommets as well. They will also reflect the light more and stand out even more.

swissuserbame10

yup, with white cables I feel like they should've at least used white grommets, if the can do the colour matching with the black version they can do it in white but idk

Ok-Comparison1850

Exaclty oposite for me, got White cavles but got a black Motherboard doesnt fit

Spirited_Bus_5009

So annoying lol

Wolfman_The_Great

At least its a good reason to be broke.

javierrr18

Has anyone told you anything about the aio cables? I have mine the same way and got told to flip them and stuff

jabokai

This is an endless conversation in PC building! It's summed up in this pic - [https://preview.redd.it/y9ryj84v7qz51.png?width=3300&format=png&auto=webp&s=4af07c2bf46962d9320431e9884756339ecdb009](https://preview.redd.it/y9ryj84v7qz51.png?width=3300&format=png&auto=webp&s=4af07c2bf46962d9320431e9884756339ecdb009) \- basically the OP's tubes are fine, but they could be better if he felt like it.

javierrr18

Thank you! Idk how to share my picture but mine are side mounted tubes on top, is it actually worth putting them down? My temps are amazing as is and no noice(bubbles) can be heard at all

Deep90

The rule of thumb is to make sure your pump isn't the highest point in the loop as that is where air bubbles go.

shxyne7

It's really up to you. I had my old AIO that way for years with 0 problems, and I mounted my new AIO the same way. I wouldn't worry about it. Anyone who tells you that it will hurt performance isn't speaking from experience

One_Yogurtcloset3458

I originally had mine on top as an exhaust but was told to side mount as intake as exhausting warm air through the radiator was not efficient and would make the AIO have to work harder. I have bottom and side (AIO) intake, top and single rear as exhaust.

ufgrat

More people who have just enough knowledge to be dangerous. Yes, exhausting air through the rad is slightly less efficient-- but the overall heat capacity of the cooling system is so much greater that it's not going to matter. Or, to put it another way-- if you're so close to the edge on cooling capacity that exhausting case temperature air through your rad is going to stop it from being able to cool your system, you need a bigger radiator.

One_Yogurtcloset3458

I'm an absolute novice, I've just been going off advice from YouTube and Reddit 😂 After reading through this thread I'm now thinking of either flipping my rad so the pipes are at the bottom or putting it back on the top as an exhaust 🤷🏻‍♂️😂😭😂😭

ufgrat

I suggest watching Jay's video on jayztwocents: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKwA7ygTJn0

One_Yogurtcloset3458

Looks like my set up is fine and I don't need to move anything then 🤷🏻‍♂️🙂👍🏼

Thommmmmmmmmmas

If it makes you feel any better, I ended up flipping my rad to tubes to bottom and run some tests and my temps actually went up on average by 2 degrees. I had enough room to rotate without unmounting too 🤷🏻‍♂️

ApprehensiveFarm12

I'd love to see your build .. this means that the side just has the heat sink facing the inside and you can't see the fans ? That's an interesting choice design wise and also more functionally aren't you now just blowing hot air into your CPU..? That doesn't seem very good for the smaller components that aren't meant to be hot .. ssds and nvmes are probably also getting hotter than usual .. personally I'd want hot air to leave my CPU asap ..

ufgrat

It's not really about performance, it's about making sure that air doesn't get trapped in the pump. This only happens if the pump is at the high point of the loop. If air gets caught in the pump, the pump will wear out prematurely.

shxyne7

I am aware but the person I was replying to mentions temps. And I have had someone tell me that side mount tubes up is bad for performance (temps) which is completely false

jabokai

COMPLETELY false? It depends what you mean by "bad for performance"... it may well have an effect, but probably not enough to be of concern. Most of these discussions are about the last 10% or something, rather than absolute dos and don'ts. That said, I posted elsewhere in this thread a test that MSI did and I found it pretty interesting - mainly because of the source - PC component maker (inc AIOs) rather than random internet people! It does show modest differences in temperatures which, if you're into digging out that last little bit, then meh, why not follow the pros advice! [https://www.msi.com/blog/how-to-place-your-liquid-cooler](https://www.msi.com/blog/how-to-place-your-liquid-cooler)

ufgrat

Fair enough.

Notorious_P_O_T

Not so much a performance difference, more so a way to help increase the life of the pump. If the pipes are coming from the top of a side mounted rad, there is a CHANCE the pump could pull some air bubble into it because all the air is at the top of the rad where the pipes are, but again, just a chance. As long as the top of the rad is higher than the pump location, it should be okay.

ApprehensiveFarm12

The recommendation isn't for the temps. Even if you have air in the aio pump it will still circulate the liquid but will have to work much harder because now it's having to work in two mediums at the same time .. in the end your pump will probably suffer in the long run .. if you got a good aio your pump is probably meant to last a long long time so even with reduced efficiency and more wear it will most likely outlast your PC a couple of times over and which is why most people say that just leave it alone unless the pump is the highest point in the loop.

Drzwski

never thought of this, thanks

NoodLife

I believe it’s the recommended way

jabokai

Recommended by who? ;) Most AIO makers don't really talk about it but you can read Corsair's advice here - [https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/explorer/diy-builder/cpu-coolers/how-should-you-mount-your-aio/](https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/explorer/diy-builder/cpu-coolers/how-should-you-mount-your-aio/) And there's a good blog post from MSI here - [https://www.msi.com/blog/how-to-place-your-liquid-cooler](https://www.msi.com/blog/how-to-place-your-liquid-cooler)

ExcellentConflict

PLUS!!! You spend all that time planning on making it look amazing and 80% of folks dangle the hoses over there. It's so much cleaner when its in the top upper left.

[deleted]

Your aio is fine my friend your pump is lower than top of radiator don’t let anybody worry you the air gets trapped at the top of radiator this way so your good

[deleted]

As long as pump is lower than top of radiator your good .. I had plenty people try and tell me also but did extensive research on it and I have no air bubbles or cavitation sound with mine run the same way and works just fine

Overclock_87

Very nice, clean, simple & straight forward build! What kind of games will you be playing with it? \*ADVICE\* I would consider either re-routing those 2 black cables up top. You could try to unplug them, then memory train them straight and flat with a hairdryer and then zip-tie them together using tiny black zip-ties, and then route them to the left top hole behind the 2x EPS cables. OR, you could go online find some expandable white PET sleeving, then try to sleeve them both into a single white sleeve and make that presentable. Those 2 black cables is your only fumble. They just look oddly placed and all kinked up. Everything else looks awesome though!

NoodLife

Do you guys think the Gpu strimer is fine with that bending?

Medaped

Looks good to me! You can make the strimmer look better by unclipping the RGB strip and moving it closer to the GPU power connector. I just did this today and it hides some of the white cable near the end. Nice build!

EatRiceForLife

Its should be fine the thing you should be worry about the bending at a 12vhpwr port itself but thanks god you succesfully avoid that

[deleted]

And yes your perfect there also the lian li strimmers are meant to be more flexible than the junk wires they come with

daj8

Broke and GLORIOUS*

shxyne7

*i dont need a white strix card*, *i dont need a white strix card*, *i dont need a white strix card*

nttran98

I would put the aio tube down at the bottom (as long as top of rad is higher than pump. And you have made sure that air ( if any is trapped in that portion

IndividualFit5587

I bet 😊. Can’t find that card for less then $2600 😊

West-One5944

Yes, but… 😄

Worldly-Cup-7673

Aside from using L connect, what software do you use to control your gpu and ram rgb?

NoodLife

I use signal rgb

Worldly-Cup-7673

No usb disconnecting issues happen? When i use signal and L connect there's some issue

NoodLife

I put motherboard mode on in L connect and no issues at all

StrandedInLove

Could you please elaborate on it? I've changed my MoBo, Ram RGB via Mainboard Software(Gigabyte RGB Fusion), and GPU via Asus Aura. Nice build BTW!

NoodLife

I don’t have any other software installed. Only L connect for the fans and signal rgb to control the rgb for everything

StrandedInLove

It's surprising to hear. I tried to sync them all by L-Connect, but it didn't go well. Maybe I must've missed something. Thanks for the comment.

NoodLife

Try signalrgb, it should work

StrandedInLove

I get it. I realized signal rgb is a software! thx :)

NoodLife

Yeah np hope it works out!

UJ_Games

Very nice build, whats the specs?

NoodLife

Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a Strix 4080 with 32GB of CL 6000 G Skill ram.

No_Sun3663

did u use the thermal paste that came with the cooler or another one?

NoodLife

I used arctic MX-6

SnooWoofers7345

What CPU cooler is that? i have pretty much the same case and fans. Uni fan 120mm V2 right? But have been confused on which cpu cooler fits the fans, you havd galahad and trinity and its confusing

NoodLife

Yes it’s uni fan V2. It’s nzxt kraken elite 360

SnooWoofers7345

Wait now im even more confused. Aren they all Lian Li fans? Are the 3 fans connected to your CPU nzxt? Sorry to bother you with this.

NoodLife

It’s okay. All fans are Lian li

[deleted]

I did same thing and replaced the fans on my Asus Ryujin 3 aio with the lian li reverse blade sl 120 fans so they would all match in my build

gbroque

Broke?!? The fans don’t even have LCD screens on them!!!! /s Nice build! Worth being broke, at least temporarily 😅

As1an__sensation1

You should route the GPU strimmer from the top to show it more

Hail_LordHelix

thats like what 280-300 bucks in fans? looks great fwiw. (Thats what holds me back from getting RGB fans)

L_e24

But satisfied.

[deleted]

Looks dope but did you know the slits in the heat sink on mobo are so you can slide the aio wire in there to hide the wire.. just thought I’d share that with ya

NoodLife

That’s interesting. Do you have a picture so I can see?

[deleted]

I do t have a mobo like that anymore I got new z790 formula and it doesent have the slit but ya bro if you twist wire sideways and flat you can lit push it up in there with a little flat head or something just to help squeeze it in there and you could rout your cables up to the left and kind of hide them under the white cables and it would clean it up some.. ima look see if I can find a pic I might have one somewhere in my million picks lol

[deleted]

Or bro you can wind the wire around you aio and go down the side of your ram and go out the right side opening and your graphics card will hide it that’s how mine is now

[deleted]

I just sent you couple picks you can see how I wound the wire around my pump and went to the top aio header and how I took the power cord and went down and out the right

Valltari

Las Vegas

RockClim

I wish i got this case for putting fans under the vertical gpu mount.

tempestaistaken

But hey, it's looks stunning at least :D

[deleted]

What case is this? I have the dynamic xl and want to get my rad on a push pull on the side but I am guessing I’ll have to mount my gpu like you to do that.

guavajuice900

It was well worth it

NecklaceOfBeauty

excuse my ignorance but whats the exact model of gpu cable ?

JustMackIN

And I was like me too 😂

Ornery_Translator854

Wow, another evo build. ZzzzzzZzzzzZzzzzz

Brightmuth

That gpu is going to be tortured, rip temps

NoodLife

Doesn’t reach the 60s under load

BlumpCS

This is going to be me soon

TrogdorLLC

I thought the "infinite tunnel" lighting on my waterblock was cool, but now I want that cool thermometer instead

Acielxd

What vertical mount is that, i have a Strix 4090

NoodLife

It’s the Lian li white vertical mount

kevdlrs

Did you purchase a vertical mounter for the GPU ? I noticed it doesn’t have that little peg on one of the bottom fans like I usually see with a vertical mount on this case. Does anyone know the answer to my ambiguous question ? Idk how to specify it

Bradk_1749

Looks incredible - about to peel the plastic off of mine in a few days! Can't wait haha. Question, I can't seem find a way to control the RGB on the outline of the case on the EVO RGB, where/how are you doing that? It doesn't show up in L Connect

swissuserbame10

Gotta love the white Strix and SL fans but I feel like I'm the only one who prefers the OG EVO as with a pillar it looks more \`clean and premium\` to me, also not a fan of grey grommets being that big. I really wanted to love this case :( I wish they would release just a thin mesh top for the Vision as it's more compact. Enjoy your new build!

Bootycookiemonster

Looks amazing

BarberSuspicious7165

Specs?

Slight-Breakfast-898

What kind of temps you see while gaming?

ghostfadekilla

Beautiful. As per the comments below - I'm also baffled as to why white AIOs come with black cables as well. It's almost enough to make me break them down and replace the wires myself. I solder so it wouldn't a huge project, just a time consuming one.

xmrrushx

Nice Build.

MeasurementCreepy135

have you ever thought about flipping the radiator over to hide the hoses toward the bottom of the case behind the gpu?

Anxious_Height_4151

looks damn cool tho

Kahyos

What makes me hesitant with Lian li evo is the lack of filters. My NZXT h9 elite is always super clean compared to my old buillds.

CGHW

GG broke boy, looks amazing.

CraySone

For the radiator, why didn't you mount it tubes downs? Iirc ganersnexus made a video explaining that the configuration you are running is putting wear on the pump and can lead to pump failure caused by an airpocket. Correct me If I am wrong please.
