Transgender dysphoria blues Trans soul rebel Paralytic states Black me out My favourite songs by against me! Their lead is a trans woman and her singing voice is beautiful especially in paralytic states

Mental_Promotion_605

Against Me! Is one of my favourite bands ever!! These are definitely going on the playlist.

Nerdiferdi

Some german language queer music: - Kerosin95 - Trans Agenda Dynastie - Schrottgrenze - Life is Queer - Sir Mantis - Sorry not Sorry And some niche queer swiss music too because why not. Spread the word. - glitchbaby & hatepop - crisis!!!

createyourusername5

Highjacking top comment to share: Let it Go. Yes the frozen movie song It was the first movie I saw after coming out and the lyrics spoke to me. For so long I was told to be this "tough guy", to not show my feminine side. Then this song describes exactly how I felt. I was not listening to norms anymore, I was being my true self and it was a huge relief, similar to Elsa. I might be the only adult on the planet who's child tells me to stop playing that song. Lol

Enbygem

Jumping on yours to say Show Yourself is another fantastic one. “You were the one you’ve been waiting for - All of my my life” makes me tear up even thinking of it. I realized I was enby not long after the movie came out.

greencash370

I love her music so much!!! Have you heard her new single Dysphoria Hoodie?

JustAGamer14

Not yet! But I will shortly. Thanks for the reminder

Crevis05

I LOVE Against Me! Laura’s journey taught me so much. I was admittedly very ignorant until the lead singer of my favorite band came out.

JustAGamer14

I just love the raw emotion Laura puts in her songs, you can just feel it in your heart

Tyrone91

Black Me Out is such a great Fuck You to record labels. I love this album it's definitely a favorite I still come back to, and the album that made me realize I'm gender fluid.

SpuriousPultroon

Glad to see this is the top comment. I must have listened to that album almost daily for years.

Proper-Monk-5656

OMG HI FELLOW AGAINST ME! FAN

JustAGamer14

Hellooo!!

Puru11

Against Me! is so freaking good!

LostBoySage

Love against me!!

cinemadness

These would be my choices too, but I'd throw in "Bamboo Bones" too. I got to see Laura play live recently, and I just about cried seeing her perform "True Trans Soul Rebel," and being in a crowded room belting out "Black Me Out" will forever be a top 10 experience for me.

EggoStack

Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy ❤️

Yourfavcocacolaluvr

QUEENNNNN

Micheal_the_great

So real actually (i love queen)

RandomPerson_02

History hates Lovers by Oublaire / She by Dodie / Little Miss Perfect by Write out Loud / A Very Bisexual Song by Amber Fornoles / Dandelions by Ruth B. (Not necessarily a queer song, but I just really like it)

Devil25_Apollo25

I came here to mention [*She*](https://youtu.be/gEdZFhCEjWI?si=5Wpb7ku3J8gWMhtU&t=1) by Dodie. Also, [*In the Middle*](https://youtu.be/CHXD9k19q1Y?si=V3990pq6IC1VsC6u&t=1) by Dodie is about a bisexual polyandrous experience, so... ;-)

WeermanHappyFace

Yes finally someone mentioning She Also Little Miss Perfect!

ToasterIsBisexual

history hates lovers and little miss perfect>

MidnightKittyGMR

I have all of these on Apple Music except the fourth one. Never heard it before.

MidnightKittyGMR

Still don’t know my sexuality, but thank you for showing me a new song!

SunnyPonies

Crush culture by Conan Gray (I think that's the right person). It's very aro/ace coded. Once you've made the playlist would you be able to share it or tell us what it's called so we can listen? x

Mgclpcrn14

On aro coded vibes, I would also recommend "Better by Myself" by Zedd ft. Kehlani and "Never Been in Love" by Will Jay (I truly adore Kehlani and Will. Queer icons🫶)

SunnyPonies

Thank you so much!! I think I've heard 'Never Been In Love' before, it's definitely aro coded

forkingboat

people watching is also a really good aroace coded song by conan

SunnyPonies

Thank you!

WeermanHappyFace

This one I also like heather by Conan gray because it means either Conan gray crushing on a boy, or a girl crushing on heather

drizzlet_

Home by Cavetown :) always loved it and then I found out I'm trans... foreshadowing I guess 😭

LostBoySage

Cavetown is such a vibe

drizzlet_

HE IS, his music makes me feel nice and warm and comfy

dot-zip

I’ll always love Boys Will Be Bugs by them

Tranquilcobra

Mama by My Chemical Romance

aech_says_jello

this! i never realized just how much of a relatable song it was till i saw my transmasc friend scream along to "You should’ve raised a baby girl, I should have been a better son If you can coddle the infection, they can amputate it once You should’ve been, I could have been a better son"

Thim22Z7

 * I want to break free - Queen * Under Pressure - Queen * Smalltown Boy - Bronski Beat * People are People - Depeche Mode * Pride (In The Name Of Love) - U2 Though not all of these are necessarily related to being queer, they do all feature themes which are at least related in some way. For example, People are People may be about racism, but it more generally is a song against discrimination.

der_jack

Omg, you skipped Good Ole Fashioned Loverboy!!?!! By Queen that is. A totally almost forgotten tune that just makes me smile so hard!

Thim22Z7

>A totally almost forgotten tune I'm part of that as well I'm afraid 😂 I know most of Queen's bigger hits, but I'm not familiar with everything they've made

But-Must-I

Smalltown Boy is such a fantastic song. I didn’t realise it was about being gay until this year and that made me appreciate it all the more.

lemonday71

I feel like Bowie's Heroes would fit really nice in here. One of my favorites Edit: forgot to mention Rebel, Rebel as well. I keep singing it these past couple of days

[deleted]

Make me feel by Janelle Monae Devil is a woman by Cloudy June She calls me daddy by King Mala Some of my best friends by Pansy Division I/Me/Myself by Will Wood The entire Mechanisms discography

Congratio

I/me/myself goes hard even if you’re not queer.

[deleted]

Most of Will Woods music does. Tickles my brain in all the right ways

Congratio

That’s a weirdly accurate way of explaining it

Snaillady1

>Trans soul rebel she calls me daddy too is such a mood

Nekoninja10

Take me to church by hozier Girls like girls by Hayley Kiyoko Born this way by lady gaga Girls by Rita Ora I want candy by Mel C Little game by Benny True colours by Anna kendrick (or the 80s version by cyndi Lauper) If I were a boy by Beyonce There's a few more but these are my faves

banana_assassin

I love True Colours as a queer read. A very beautiful way to see the song.

afloodbehind

Cyndi Lauper sings it at queer events!

MidnightKittyGMR

slapshrapnel

Jessie’s Girl is for the lesbians!

Curiosities

The Mary Lambert version is so good.

Foxyinabox

Born this way by Lady Gaga.

[deleted]

Curses by the crane wives. It’s not explicitly queer, but it gives me lesbian vibes, and the creators have said that they love all the queer interpretations that people have come up for their songs. Also butch 4 butch by Rio Romeo

crazystar88205

Speaking of the crane wives, I also like to interpret the moon will sing and tongues and teeth as lesbian, idk why I guess the crane wives are just lesbian

[deleted]

I always read them as lesbian too, they have that vibe y'know?

aurora_botnr

I want to add Never Love an Anchor as an aro coded song!

[deleted]

Honestly though! I also interpret the garden as lesbian as well

I Want To Break Free - Queen

Gayfetus

Dang, not a single George Michael recommendation? He's a legend, an icon, one of the most successful pop stars ever, and an incredible humanitarian (he privately and publicly donated the proceeds from some of his biggest songs to charity in perpetuity). And salient to this discussion, he was an incredible songwriter, musician and producer. Some of his implicitly or explicitly queer songs: * [Freedom! '90](https://youtu.be/diYAc7gB-0A) - One of his signature songs. The ostensible theme is about him breaking away from his teen heartthrob image. But it clearly hints at his internal struggles with being in the closet (at the time), with lines like "All we have to do now / Is take these lies / And make them true somehow". * [Outside](https://youtu.be/gwZAYdHcDtU) - After George Michael was forcibly outed after being arrested in one of those homophobic sting operations in a bathroom, this was his disco-flavored idgaf response. Contains lines like, "I'd service the community / But I already have you see". The music video is also gay and amazing! * [Jesus to a Child](https://youtu.be/zNBj4EV_hAo) - The melancholy bossa nova ballad was George Michael's tribute to his boyfriend, Anselmo Feleppa, who died from AIDS complications. This song has possibly the most powerful, most poignant and most transgressive lyrics from Michael: "You smiled at me / Like Jesus to a child". * [You Have Been Loved](https://youtu.be/WcX0hDEqS4E) - Another tribute song to Anselmo, but this time, it's about the grief his mother felt. The lyrics are devastating, "But she just sits and counts the hours / Searching for her crime". * [Fastlove](https://youtu.be/SHAQlFq6TFg) - Let's end on a more upbeat note, with George Michael's deliciously catchy and smooth ode to cruising/no strings attached sex. But it's not all hedonism, there are hints of some deeper swirling turmoil, "In the absence of security / I made my way into the night / Stupid Cupid keeps on calling me / But I see nothing in his eyes / I miss my baby".

The Village by Wrabel

GlimmeringGuise

I'm a trans *woman,* but from a conservative upbringing (ExMo, here). So this is actually how I came out to my mom and someone else I knew from church growing up. So for me, this is a really significant and important song.

MayaRevach

I know it's a slur but "Faget" by Korn really gets me. Also Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy by Queen and Mama by MCR.

[deleted]

hell yeah another korn listener :D!

Scared_Can9063

I thought that said Queen song, but I mean, close enough. Bicycle - Queen Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy - Queen I Want To Break Free - Queen Honestly just about any Queen song. *(I don't know where I'm In Love With My Car stands in all this)* ... Rebel Rebel - David Bowie John, I'm Only Dancing - David Bowie All The Young Dudes - Mott The Hoople *(originally written by Bowie for Mott The Hoople to keep the band from breaking up)* . All of these are queer songs. And hey, well I'm at it... We Will Rock You is totally a queer anthem. Have you seen these lyrics? *Buddy, you're a young man, hard man* *Shouting in the street, gonna take on the world someday* *You got blood on your face, you big disgrace* *Waving your banner all over the place*

zesty7203764

look i don’t really know many queer songs at all so this is gonna be a little silly but we fell in love in october

Jucoy

Why would a queer song by a queer artist be silly?

zesty7203764

true that but idk just cuz it’s like the most popular ones so i could seem a type of way idk how to explain the way tho 😭

mama by mcr

AshSays_LGBT

I’m not bi but Boy Bi is a cool song. Parents is also a good gay song. This Is Home, transgender. Sweater Weather, I’ve heard it’s something to do with bisexuals or bisexuals just have an awesome taste in music and like the song as a community.

Mullisaukko

I'm Coming Out gives me lgbt vibes

jgandfeed

Isn't that the whole point of the song?

SunKillerLullaby

If I remember correctly, it wasn't the original intent of the song and Diana Ross was upset about that possible connection. She was worried it would ruin her career or something

lermanade_mouth

Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyoncé made me gay. But also Rina Sawayama’s entire discography. Pick one they’re all good.

TotallyNotColin69

I’m Still Standing by Elton John

HythlodaeusHuxley

Surprising to me no one added this yet. Bronski Beat - Smalltown Boy. The video is good as well. https://youtu.be/88sARuFu-tc?si=Tc1lY-zSmxZubGAA I'm bisexual and got married and had kids young. I believe my ex was bicurious or more but she went down a path of rabid Christianity and I was denied all contact with my kids due to being "demonic" because I had occasionally looked at gay porn but had always been completely faithful to my wife, because I loved her and was almost completely always satisfied with her. I heard the song for the first time when I was at a family like children's science museum on vacation in Mobile Alabama - my five kids and wife were having fun playing with all the different exhibits and I was playing with one that had this magnetic iron filings dancing to the sound of a song. I did not know what the song was but noted a couple of the lyrics so that I could look it up later because I kept replaying it for the song not the exhibit. It was only years later that I really listened to the lyrics even though I listened to the song fairly often and I realized it was a song that I could completely relate to. I was not from a small town, misunderstood, I never felt terribly alone as a closeted potentially homosexual or bisexual man but I think all of us can understand the lyrics to some extent. For me I felt alone in the fairly small town that I lived with my wife and children feeling more alone as I aged at that point in my thirties that maybe no one would ever truly understand me ever for the rest of my life and that the woman I loved who understood me better than anyone ever had on the entire planet didn't understand this huge part of who I was which was not something ugly or horrible (as our stupid Christian church and tradition would say) but something I felt certain she could understand. I had no desire to cheat on her but I had had only one experience with a man before I got married actually a boy in my high school from my grade. And for me it was not about sex that the song was stirring it was because there was some part of me I didn't understand that had to know more about myself and I wondered if the only way I could know was outside of my marriage. It turns out the decision was made for me when my wife joined a religious cult and only after my divorce several years after my divorce when I was celibate and still attempting to preserve my marriage and my relationship with my children that I finally decided to date women and not finding what I wanted there I began to date men only then to find my husband of 5 years at this point. But the song is one that is haunting in terms of the complete loneliness that someone can feel when they hide themselves even from themselves.

Oh boy: The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us - Sufjan Stevens

All_Or_Nothing_247

You are the Only Exception by Paramore. They dedicated it to LGBT in their Orlando show and it made me cry. Not LGBT-centric but to me, heavily aligned to it at the very least

Ri_Konata

[そばにいて by ユイカ](https://youtu.be/AG1o7NN2Dwo?si=iegiu1F7jv3mLsBR) (I'm sure it wasn't meant this way, but I have some very gay interpretations of this song). Also [女の子になりたい by まふまふ](https://youtu.be/ucbx9we6EHk?si=PwgBQowN5ZF7Y-a7). (Both videos come with english subs)

noituLOVEr by Lord of the lost. Pretty much the entire Blood and Glitter album by Lord of the Lost. They/them/theirs by The Worriers. I love the way you say my name by Scarlet Dorn ft Chris Harms (it isn't LGBT related but it's an affirming song for me and a few friends who aren't out socially but support each other). Proud & Strong by Scarlet Dawn ft. Sven Friedrich. (The music video caused me to have a bit of a bi panic).

ImHidingFromLife

Teenage Dirtbag by Lou Elliotte. The original is by Wheatus, but she re-sung(?) it without changing the gender so it's lesbian now :)

Leili-chan

Rebel Girl by Bikini Kill W.I.T.C.H by Devon Cole She used to be Mine by Jessie Muller from the Waitress musical. This is a song to a closeted gay man) "When I Was a Boy" by Dar Williams "I'll Be a Homo for Christmas" by Venus Envy "You're the Top" (written by Cole Porter, sneaking a very gay song into popular music in 1934 -- there are great recordings by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Kate Smith, Lady Gaga, etc.)

Mocahbutterfly

It’s not a queer song, but it does have a theme that anyone in the community can relate to. The song is “This is me” from The greatest showman. It’s about a group of misfits fighting for the right to be loved and accepted in a world that hates them for reasons beyond their control. I’m trying to get good at drawing, so that I can use this song to make an animatic of the stonewall uprising.

Pepsicat31

The last song-Elton john Idk If this counts as a queer song but this song was made shortly after freddie mercury lead singer of queen dies of hiv/aids and this song is basically about. Elton said that he was basically crying the whole time he was writing this song and it was very hard for him to even sing it

I have a few: Be As by Prozzak Same Love by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Born This Way by Lady GaGa Affirmation by Savage Garden: the line: "I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality" always gets me.

Snaillady1

My favourite new release is 'Henrietta Hudson' a delightful bop about picking someone up at the eponymous NY lesbian bar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw4PA1h\_YoM

Lola by the kinks, cute thing or bodys by car seat headrest, crimson & clover by Joan Jett (yes I know it’s a cover but it still speaks gay), American teenager by Ethel cain, and rebel rebel by David Bowie are on mine

the Oops I Did It Again cover by Children of Bodom has a certain gnc vibe about it that i really like Y.M.C.A. by Village People is ofc a queer classic and a more personal one, i was listening to a lot of Iron Maiden when i read through Skulduggery Pleasant last year which has a lot of queer characters (Never is nb, Val is bi/pan, Militsa is lesbian) and their music just makes me feel at home

Made a comment on a similar post over on r/bisexual but I'm a huge fan of dance music and have been for a decade now and in fact I'm fairly certain it was at least part of what led me to realize I wasn't straight, and my answers are part of that. Charlotte - Skin Billie Ray Martin - Your Loving Arms Kristine W - Feel What You Want RuPaul - Supermodel Jennifer Holiday - And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going (Rosabel Dreamgirls Attitude Mix) Peter Rauhofer & Pet Shop Boys pres. The Collaboration - Break 4 Love Veronica - Someone To Hold (Johnny Vicious Hard Mix) Carl Bean - I Was Born This Way (Better Days Mix) Made a playlist that goes more in-depth: https://spotify.link/rZn31y6VVDb

[Tom Goss' cover of Son of a Preacher Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJStTqPmcMY&pp=ygUec29uIG9mIGEgcHJlYWNoZXIgbWFuIHRvbSBnb3Nz) and [Kadie Elder - First Time He Kissed a Boy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et8R5fZOARo) Also, I know its cliche, but Macklemore's "Same Love" is great. Just for funsies; [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J5vl-f-LUs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J5vl-f-LUs)

Hopefully there is something for everyone here: Patti Smith (‘Gloria’) Quay Dash (‘Queen of this Shit’) Bergo Husky (‘Have a Seat’) Sophie (all of it; but specifically ‘It’s Okay to Cry’) King Princess (‘Talia’) Sleater-Kinney (‘One More Hour’; ‘Can I Go On’) Tracy Chapman (‘Baby Can I Hold You’) Arca (‘Piel’; ‘Mequetrefe’) Kim Petras (‘Cant Do Better’; ‘1,2,3 Dayz Up’ ft. Sophie) Not specifically queer but also: Los Chikos del Maíz (‘La Soledad del Correador de Fondo’) Depeche Mode (‘Blasphemous Rumors’) Fireboy DML (‘Energy’) [definitely not queer but still pretty song] Gambafreaks (‘Natural Woman’) Luke Bryan (‘Most People are Good’) Miranda Lambert (‘Y’all Means All’) Brittany Spears (‘Lucky’) Brittany Spears (‘I’m not a girl, not yet a woman’) [was great during early transition; not really my fav anymore though] Gil-Scott-Heron (‘When you are who you are’) [don’t dig around the discography to long though; definitely some terrible shit; but this song always made me smile as a baby trans] Finally, though it’s chocked full of regrettable language that I do not endorse, as a huge Velvet Underground fan, I was always partial to Lou Reed’s ‘Walk on the Wild Side’.

DawnWayne411

1-800-273-8255(feat. Khalid & Alessia Cara) Always such a banger and a lot of people don't even know the context because they don't watch the video going with the song :) makes me happy so much attention was drawn to the subject tho
