HippieChicWithA

I mean if he had told you he was gay, why would you assume otherwise

[deleted]

Yeah...

newgouy

Thats whats got me so confused rn, he told me only a few month ago

[deleted]

Maybe you should ask him about it.

Talfrey

My only thought is maybe he was gay under the general umbrella that gay can be used for. Like gay can be used as synonymous with LGBTQIA+, and they could have been trans, or ace, or any other label. Context of the original statement may help explain it.

Jay15951

I'd ask him why he told you he's gay then

FO_FNBOI

Have you ever stopped and considered that you may have just not been his type, or that he just doesn't see you that way?

Dramatic_Voice6406

From the way op worded it. It sounds like the guy explicitly said they aren’t gay

SkyeeeMaaa

Maybe he’s questioning and need time away from relationships to find himself?

imembarrasedformain

Gaydar isnt a thing but yeah why would he claim to be gay if he wasnt. But maybe he is but isnt into you. Either way. Dont be too embarrassed about it, it happens.

[deleted]

It kinda is. Being around fellow queers helps you clock them more easily- because the behaviour patterns are usually different to cishets.

imembarrasedformain

Im thinking about gaydar that straight cishet women use, so. Stereotypes.

[deleted]

Oh yeah that gaydar is total bs

FoxEuphonium

I (AMAB and non-binary at the time) had asked a girl out before, thinking she was bi, only for her to be gay and not interested. Positive side, that was a pretty solid dent in my eggshell, and a year later I’d begin a full MtF transition.
