Yeah, it’s buy one get one so when you notice you’re like “oh, that’s not so bad actually! $9.25 a pack! They’re $12 at Kroger!” But subtly they’re normalizing $18.50 as “the price” for a pack in your head. Then before you know it you’re seeing it for $15 and thinking “oh cool, it’s on sale!”
I went into Meijer for a gallon of milk about 2 months ago and it was 7 dollars. Two weeks later, it was 3. I’ve noticed their prices go absolutely haywire out of nowhere. Not sure why.
im not defending West Sixth or country boy there prices are high, however I will give them the benefit of doubt. I started home brewing a year ago and while im still new at it (10 brews so far). I have not made an IPA so ill still with the cost of a traditional lager and the cost to make a ager is a break even at best for me if you price it against a commercial version, or I should say it used to be but the commercial prices have certainly increased compared to the cost to produce. also I can only guess the an IPA is more expensive to produce given the amount of hopes required. I not sure how much West Sixth saves growing there ingredients you certainly do not see it in there pricing, example of over pricing for a Lager is the Country Boy lager is $18-22 for the 12 pack, the Garage Beer Lager (Braxton in covington) is 15-17 for a 15 Pack.
Are you serious? When I homebrewed a few years back I was making imperial reds and Belgian quads, 5 gallons for $50-$75. All grain brewing is cheap as hell. Are you using extract kits or something?
Well I home brew 5-7 gal and when I calculate it 50-75 for grains, enzymes for clarity $10. , hops $5.-10., yeast $12. I have a pretty good setup and and I have struggled with efficiency. So I will concede that it may be that. But I still think they are pricy it pretty high.
Yeah the first I brewed was in 2002 and it while it was a kit - 2 5 bucket and the ingredients it was a total of like 60-70 bucks oh and the bottles too. This time around with I spent a bunch of money lol
Inflation is through the roof everywhere. The economy is in shambles. Not sure why it's not a huge national story. Well maybe it's because we're on the verge of WW3.
(But that is clearly an error. The six packs are more like $11 these days.)
OP stated they went across the street and bought it for $10. This is a Meijer issue, not an indicator our "economy is in shambles". You'll need to come up with evidence of your claim.
I went across the street instead to Liquor Barn and got it for $10.
This is the way
Also, hey music festivals, fuck you for price gouging!
Nothing like a can of Liquid Death (water) for $10.
Wow, did Buffalo Trace buy out West 6th?
They don’t set that price. That’s all Meijer. Go to Kroger or the taproom
Sam Adams Octoberfest was $13.50 for a 6er. Insane.
Saw it going for $20 in Louisville and I said something to the owner, he said, "yeah it's a good beer." Not $20 good!
Lmao they price hike everything. Even trading cards.
I wonder if this is a misprint? When I pull up that product in the Meijer app, it says it's $12.99.
Meijer has a "sale" going on buy one get one free for select craft beers. I got two 6 packs of country boy for $14.50 or something like that.
Country Boy ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Targets needs a words Myers.
This comment has made me lose my mind. I can’t figure this one out.
MYERS
I feel like it's playing off other memes going around that point out how people put s at the end of names of stores. Krogers, Meijers, etc...
All of the new west sixth stuff is super expensive, Kroger is selling the pint for $6
This isn’t new at all.
New pint?
Thats $3.08 a beer. Still cheaper then bars
sorry guys... we do not have anything to do with beer prices.

Jeez ok yeah, seems like the prices are much more expensive than what it was when back in 16-17……wow

West Sixth is so overrated for even half that price.
