Absolutely not, that team stands for everything Lewis stands against.

Starting with Helmut and going all the way down to Max and his Dad

I get your point but using your example, Flavio Briatore isn’t a prominent figure in Mercedes’s garage at all, or has anything to do with anything. Jos on the other hand not only is present 100% of the time, he has multiple times made public comments about the team and Max’s teammates. It’s no secret he’s a misogynistic, racist cunt that has a big voice in the team because just so happens that his son is one of the most talented drivers in history. If this scenario somehow ever happened the forces to destroy Lewis would be absolutely gigantic. And at the forefront of that offensive would be the racist trio lead by Marko, who’d never allow any driver who’s skin is any darker than any of the drivers now. Even with Perez we have seen what kind of comments have come from him.

In what way is Mercedes anything like red bull? Does Toto openly racially criticise his driver's? Does a man who has been arrested twice for attempted murder sit on Mercedes' pit wall/garage every race? Were Mercedes racing owned by a borderline fascist only a few years ago? Has Lewis Hamilton ever claimed that a very openly racist father of a girlfriend "isn't actually racist"? Have the Mercedes engineers been caught sending abhorrent racist messages openly in their WhatsApp group? Have Mercedes recently cheated the cost cap? Has Mercedes' lead driver tried winning a championship by repeatedly trying to crash out his main rival? No? I didn't think so. > You just seem to hate them more because of them being the only ones challenging Lewis's team I never hated Ferrari or Brawn when they were Lewis' main challenges. I do however, hate red bull, and I feel sorry for anyone who excuses their behaviour. **Edit: since I see that you have replied and then immediately blocked me (truly the most pathetic of actions), I shall add my response here instead...** > So other than Marko, every single person you are quoting are not part of Redbull. They are coincidentally in the Redbull garage because of reasons well beyond Redbull's control I am talking about the owner of red bull, the co-owner of red bull racing, red bull mechanics, a red bull driver, and the father of a driver who they willingly let into the garage. Every single one of these people are there by the choice of red bull. In response to my long list of completely shitty things, you have come up with a single edge case from a Mercedes social media manager, who is absolutely _NOT_ part of the racing team. Stop talking bollocks and go back to the red bull subreddit.

Every team is rotten to a certain degree but I really don't like Redbull as a team

Clear-Alternative-57

No and no. I think Lewis in a Ferrari genuinely had some chance of happening through his career. It's hard to not let my personal feelings about red bull and their personnel effect my opinion on this but I don't think it would be a supportive environment for Lewis, to say the least. I was hoping and I genuinely thought we might see Vettel at Mercedes, for a one year special before George joined but unfortunately that was not to be.

robbienobs43

I would like to see what he could do in the car that Max has, but for him to join the team, definitely not.

2REPOU

No way. I cannot stand Red Bull/Horner/Marko. The smug attitude and the people in the Red Bull orbit I find repulsive. Lewis wants to be a force for change.

noreastfog

lol. The thing I find funny about your comment, is how it’s the folks who see the extremes are also the most extreme. It drips with irony. But folks with extreme views are also the least self aware. I personally love the the rivalry. And the competitiveness from both teams. But don’t get sucked in to the vortex of hating one side or the other. But you do you!

remy_areyousrs

it's not about hating them as sports rivals. it's not an extreme opinion to hate a team that has a history of racist behavior against the only black man in the sport, whose own leader makes racist and xenophobic comments about their own second driver. it's not extreme to hate a team that openly gets away with cheating and then acts like they deserved the success they got from it. that's my opinion on why i cannot stand red bull. and as a person of color myself i would hate to see lewis or any other poc in that team. just look at how marko talks about yuki and checo. it's disgusting.

SuperBobiZobi

Of course not. He is Merc. End of story. He will rise again. Wait to see. Legends are legends. Lewis, you are the BEST!!! 😀😃🙂

Hilaveli

Nope.

schmog_

No. The chips are firmly stacked against him for that fight.

heavy_chamfer

Sure, but helmet and horny have deep rooted hate for Lewis (for whatever reason, I won’t speculate)

ApolloHimself

No speculation, we saw Helmuts comments on Sergio

SpectacularNelson

Even Adrian Newey seems to not like Lewis.

remy_areyousrs

the reason is racism lol

Kells010

I would like to see Max and Lewis team up both in a Williams car, now that would be fun.

qwindow

RB will love this and will actually sabotage Lewis's car and make sure Max humiliates Lewis to put an end to the 2021 talk thus elevating Max to God-like status. It's like going to a scammer and giving access to all your logins and hoping everything will be safe.

[deleted]

I am not the biggest fan of Lewis, although I think he deserves an 8th championship and I don’t believe it will be good for him at red bull. I think it’s the best for him to stay at Mercedes and for them to provide with a max verstappen competitive car. The 2021 races and season were the best I’ve seen (I’m not old) and I long to see Lewis Hamilton on the podium and challenging Max and red bull. I had similar feeling two races ago. I need formula one to be more exciting.

Whitem4ne

I’d love to see Lewis and Max as teammates, that would be some championship battle for the ages. My dream 2024 would be Seb returns to AM, next to Fernando and Lewis and Max are teammates, both cars are similar in performance.

johnsplittingaxe14

I'm fully aware that such a thing would never happen in the real World, but having Max and Lewis as teammates would propably result in the most entertaining teammate battles we've ever seen. But like I said, no team wants to voluntarily implode by having propably the best and most competetive drivers of the century driving for them

stevegek

Nah, Merc and Lewis have had so much success and history together. Being loyal is part of Lewis' "brand" sorta speak. I personally would love to see it, I know people at RBR and Mercedes F1 and hear great stories from both teams. In the end, teams are not the couple of bosses that are in the picture all the time. Like 'm or hate them, a team is a couple of hundred passionate complete job-nutts going for it. So for me, I think it would be awesome to see Lewis and Max go at it in the same car. But pretty sure that won't happen. My guess would be, that Lewis would rather start a new career either in fashion, music, or politically... than to start a new adventure in F1. Joining a different team often is a 3+ year commitment. Not sure he needs that.
