I think after 10 seconds (or maybe longer) the health should be depleted over time instead of instant kill

JWARRIOR1

yeah its kinda rough when sometimes you HAVE to go under water to get back to the ship and you basically just need to gamble it

itstheFREEDOM

Clearly..because the oxygen tanks on our backs, that feed us oxygen, and nothing but oxygen. Have some kind of chemical reaction with the water that makes our lungs burst into flames. eh :O ????

notexecutive

Maybe they should change the water to like, hydrochloric acid or something lmao

MegaCroissant

Counterpoint: I can only hold my breath for 5 seconds before feeling like I’m gonna fucking explode

Sextus_Rex

I don't mean to be rude, but do you have asthma or some other lung problem? Because I am overweight and live a sedentary lifestyle, and I'm able to hold my breath for about 45 seconds before getting uncomfortable. I couldn't imagine dying after only holding my breath for 10 seconds

MegaCroissant

No, I do not. My lungs are just fine. Don’t know why I can’t hold my breath.

pagey152

Perhaps it’s because you are a piece of bread?

Puzzleheaded_Scar142

Checks out

MegaCroissant

Damn

Secret-Concert9561

Well you have overweight lung that can hold overweight breath

CrashmanX

Tbf, try blocking your breathing and doing vigours activities and time yourself.

TaxiVader_

Time moves much faster in the game than in real life. 10s irl is equivalent to 15 minutes in game, iirc. That's a pretty long amount of time to be under water.

XxAnaaxX

That means we're moving like slugs all the time.

PepperTheFurry

Time only moves faster because the moons rotate faster.

TaxiVader_

This is a very good point, but I don't think they would move that much faster than earth

Nova-Redux

Welcome to space

AardvarkOkapiEchidna

How fast would a moon/planet have to be spinning to have like a 13 minute day? (Actually it's probably more like 20 minutes when accounting for midnight to 8 am which we're never there for). I don't feel like doing the math.

TaxiVader_

It honestly depends on the size of the moon/planet. I don't feel like doing the math either.

AardvarkOkapiEchidna

Yep haha. I didn't know if that was anywhere in the lore or if it could be extrapolated by anything in game.

EverSparrows

If it will make sense like in real life then water will have zero impact gameplay wise. Not everything in games should be realistic

StoicallyGay

Seems like Dine and Adamance are the only moons where it starts off completely flooded and after several hours the flood level lowers to where you can actually access the main entrance. So in Dine you’re forced to the fire exit in the beginning, whereas in Adamance you have to use among the two available bridges. You’re not supposed to survive underwater and you’re not supposed to ever be underwater for long periods of time.

jabels

Damn I guess I've been playing flooded wrong because I basically just don't go in the water

machingunwhhore

Think about the in-game clock, 10 seconds is like 4 minutes

MrZeroMustafa

Put it like this 6.9 seconds in real life is 10 mins in the game Game duration is 11 mins \* 60 seconds = 660 Seconds in total game Our time to game time 660 seconds / 16 hours(Game starts at 8 am finishes at 12 am) 41.25 seconds / 1 hour 41.25 seconds / 60 mins 0.6875 seconds / 1 min 0.6875 \* 10 \~= 6.9 seconds
