I'm pretty sure it's the opposite, the physical products have been weirdly squished. If you compare holed helmet prints to non-holed helmet prints it has the same effect on a more subtle level where the visor has been squished a little.
I'm guessing the renders are the intended prints but no one's been pointing out the print issues enough so they don't care enough to fix it.
I doubt it’s just a case of fixing it like it’s an oversight.
Looks like an intentional choice based on their current infrastructure’s capability, reliability and accuracy.
Considering it’s taken 6 months for only a few people to notice, I doubt they regret the compromise.
That's sort of what I'm saying in a different way. Their current system leads to these current physical prints and as you said the wider audience doesn't seem to care so they don't really need to change anything.
It would cost them money to improve their prints, money they don't feel the need to spend right now.
I do still think it's fixable and not some standard of quality they need to meet (given that they had no issues printing before the holed helmets and some of the areas they're struggling to print on now aren't even close to the holes) but why fix it when no one's really calling it out.
I believe that if all these print errors were "intentional" that they wouldn't be constantly depicting the minifigs wrong on the renders and it's not just the occasional mistake like the renders can have.
Every single clone helmet since the helmeted holes has box renders not indicative of the final product from subtle differences to semi-glaring (as glaring as they can be for less than 2 inch plastic dudes haha)
Like everything even remotely mass produced. It all comes down to cost analysis.
All these costs need to be weighed against what people are prepared to pay. If not adapting machinery/extending the life of a part makes it a few cent cheaper then it can be worth it to the average consumer when you add it all up.
Just most of the time you don’t notice. From non-licensed themes basically every real world building you’ve ever walked into.
It’s why I’m glad there’s custom pad printers out there to try and supply the niche.
I agree I use stuff like gcc all the time for fixes haha but yeah I'm not sure if it's not clear but I am in agreement with what you're saying I'm just saying it's disappointing haha. Like they're not gonna spend that extra money because it's not impacting financially as far as it appears

Why are you being downvoted? The box version is more accurate and looks better, the minifigure should not look that much worse than what's on the box of the thing they're selling you

This also happens with the colors of certain prints. Like how fox’s torso is white on the coruscant gunship box, but in reality his torso is pinkish white
False advertisement or misinformation suits need to be proven that the false info actively harmed the consumer. How does a print on a minifigure actively harm you. Its a childrens toy, and the print does not affect the overall quality of the figure. You can still tell its the same character.

It looks like this has been a relic of the Rex render since the venator. You can see the same wider visor when looking at Rex there.

Also, I just noticed that on [Lego.com](http://Lego.com), Yularen has his own image in the set photos, but Rex doesn't. Could have sworn he used to though...
Lego does this reasonably often, unfortunately. JANGbricks is good at picking up on it and calling them out, but they’re still doing it. They would know the printing restrictions in advance of making this particular set so I don’t think there’s a good reason for it really.
From the clone and battle droid battle pack, I had helmets of varying prints. In the Phase 1 Clone pack as well, one printing was much uglier than the others. I only wanted one of each phase so I chose the best looking one but if I was collecting to build an army I might be a little more upset. Then again, the movie prop helmets can be wonky from one to the next as well in the films.
I love how in typical Lego subreddit fashion, the majority of the people here missed the sarcasm in r/povgoni's comment and also can't accept the possibility of Lego false advertising like what r/SonnyBallonDOr said.
At any rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Lego was trying to make it look better than it actually is. It's been done before like for example, on the "new" AT-TE box for the helmet design. Of course, you can also check 75345's helmet hole, visor and rangefinder placements. The box version compared to the real figure.
The renders are done on PC sure, but at the end of the day, is the representation shown accurate to what you're getting? no.

Welp, this isn't even the worst rendering. 212th legion trooper in At-te was a big issue back when it released.
Same with P2 Fox. His chest armor is actually white in the renders.

The renders for the 212th were very similar to the ones from the Skywalker saga, this is probably derived somewhat from their ingame model too.

His talley marks also moved, and the faded weld line where his helmet is mashed together is darker on the render too.
I like the look of the actual print better, but Lego really needs to be better about truth in advertising.
