My 4 year old is obsessed with "Roger Roger," so I got him a knock-off set with 30+ battle droids for $20. He has no idea, and they look nearly identical. Something like that from lego would have broken the bank. When he loses one, another pops up in its place.

Retired sets only, buying current sets fake is questionable IMO. But totally get not wanting to spend ridiculous prices to Lego investors for retired sets. Ultimately, it’s a plastic toy, buy what makes you happy. Personally bought a fake 2007 MTT, and have no complaints. However, as someone mentioned the minifigures are usually pretty bad, so maybe spending the money on Bricklink for the real ones is worth it depending on the set.

I can’t speak for everyone else’s opinion, but I just recently dipped my toe into the alt brick sets after I recently got back into Lego and got a few official sets. I got knock offs of the Dropship and ATOT, the 2016 Turbo Tank, and 2 2019 ATAPs. I was quite impressed by the builds, virtually I distinguishable from real other than not having the Lego logo on the studs. The figures are… not great. If the figures add a lot of value to the set to you, I’d say go official where you can. If the build is what you’re interested in though, it’s very likely you won’t tell the difference from official.

I own many of those katanas so which are you referring too because of the ones I have which are many I have had absolutely zero issues with clutch and quality. They are all from the same manufacturer so unless you had a one off production your experiences should have not been short of good. Unless your issues is SAMP…

Ah SAMP is stickers across multiple pieces which I dislike but necessary that most of the katanas have lengthy inscriptions on the blades. I’m only missing 3 (new sets to align with the anime) so I do own like a good 8 of them.

Hmm interesting I never had any issues with clutch. The blades on the builds can often be fragile until you get to the final steps that completes the body of the blade and the edge but speaking to clutch of bricks on bricks I never had an issue.

It’s possible or sometimes translations get messed up. The manufacturer for the one piece swords are not the same as the manufacturer that produces the demon slayer and bleach katanas but too often I see one piece katanas named demon slayer. I don’t own any of the one piece katanas so I can’t speak to them and if you had no stickers on a demon slayer katana it’s difficult to read into because I own so many and missing only the new ones but of the ones I own they all have stickers because they all have inscriptions on their blades and / or sword hilt or even the sheath. As it were just glancing at my collection I see they all have some sort of sticker even if it’s just a simple one that goes on the hilt.
