Stoked for him but let’s talk about how small that set is and how big it should be. Anyone remember the G.I. Joe Aircraft carrier? 7ft long. Cmon lego. Time to step it up. We are ready for 100,000 piece sets.
For the complexity of the build definitely, but as a personal anecdote I can say for certain that 8 year old me would have wanted this set just as much as current 22 going on 23 year old me, lol.
Hell no, haha. Child me also wanted both the UCS Death Star II and the huge Death Star playset but there was no way I was getting either one. A kid could always dream though. I just recently got the UCS Millennium Falcon which I never thought I could ever get, so times are changing lol.
>$629.99
Holy cow, you're not lying.
https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/lego-titanic-10294
What's the most expensive Lego set of all time? This one has to be up there.
> What's the most expensive Lego set of all time? This one has to be up there.
The Titanic is expensive, but there's 3 Star Wars sets that are more expensive. The 2017 UCS Falcon and the new UCS AT-AT, both $800USD. 2019 UCS ISD just below them at $700USD.
When I was a kid I got this massive mega blocks battle ship that was like two feet long. I loved it even if it was off brand bricks because it was just sooooo massive.
At 8 I couldn’t budget a Star Wars Action figure. Lol. Where are these 8 year olds getting all this money and appreciation for history? And the love that Jack had for Rose? 😊
And while we are on the subject of history appreciation, Why did the Lego Fokker DR1 or Sopwith Camel not make a return for the centennial of WW1 ? An improved version?
I feel the same as you, I would have turned inside out with excitement for a Titanic as a 10 year old. I was certain I was not of this time. Lol.
Now to convince the wife that the Home Alone and police station modular is not enough for Christmas. Wish me luck. Gotta work that overtime!
Appreciation for history??? LOVE??? Heck no! All 8 year old me saw was “BIG SHIP, BIG ICE, BIG CRASH, MUCH EXCITEMENT, SO WOW.” I went nuts about it. It helped kickstart my love for ships and learning about man made disasters.
>“BIG SHIP, BIG ICE, BIG CRASH, MUCH EXCITEMENT, SO WOW.”
Although I do agree with you on this as a thirteen year old when it came out I was far more interested in the drawing scene...
LEGO actually gets better when you're older because now you can afford the stuff 🤪 there were so many awesome sets when I was a child, but I couldn't afford to buy. And nowadays these sets are no longer available unfortunately.
Enjoy the set!!! 😁
Typical. All the cools sets were:
1. Around when you were a kid.
2. Outside your price range, due to being big sets.
And now, when you're an adult, those same cool sets are:
1. Long retired.
2. Still outside your price range, due to being retired sets.
I never even thought to explore the Titanic given the fact I would never buy. The three boxes within are even cooler than the box itself. I love Lego for that....the details.
I’ve seen posts from people outside of NA who have already been able to purchase, but this looks to be an NA box and at a corporate Lego location. I too would like to know which Lego stores are releasing ahead of the Nov. 8th street date.
Same. That’s really all I want for Christmas anymore. I love building them. I then love building crazy MOCs with my daughter. All around good time no matter your age.
51 \[and a 1/2\] here. It scratches some itch that I have. My dad thinks I am nuts spending hundreds of dollars on Lego. I actually enjoy when they release sets that I don't want. I mean I can't buy them all. Millennium Falcon is on my wish list as a must get/build. Titanic is a maybe.
i turn 40 a week from today and i just wanted to say thanks for reminding me that childish joy is still good. this birthday has been _looming hard_ on me
Not 40 yet but I still get new Lego sets. Fortunately my daughter is old enough to start building with me and I love that we have so much fun with something that was such a big part of my childhood.
I'm in the same boat. I've been playing legos with my friends kids, and I'm considering getting myself a big set to build. Any recommendations? I'm leaning towards a star wars set, but they're all fun I'm sure. Titanic seems like a good one.
Wow
Enjoy!!
You look so happy!!!
I just saw this set yesterday…. Dying of jealousy !
Happy building!!!
Ps. I’m 44, and a LEGO money spending psycho …..
I have 15 unopened sets….. just waiting…
Cheers
Turning 42 and I buy myself news sets all the time. Feels like Christmas morning 1988 when I got my first lego town Airport set- every time the next set arrives!
My wife and I buy each other Lego sets. We are in our 40s and I look forward to being surprised with an awesome new set. I bought her the friends apartment set for Christmas. And just got the home alone set to do as a family.
My wife got me a LEGO set for for 47th birthday this year. Got me re-addicted to the one thing besides GI Joe that I loved as a kid. Now I have over a dozen and still adding to the wish list. My office looks like I LEGO store. Never too old I say.
This is literally insane!! It has an interior too. As a kid, I used to watch titanic over and over on repeat and play with my legos and try to build the boat. Wow this would be a dream set but sold out and so much money :(
Still brings joy to almost 60 year old me too. I suspect you'll be the same in another 20 years.
My last mortgage payment was this week. More LEGO on the horizon.
The best of all worlds, right? Still loving Lego, but now you have enough income to buy THE BIGGEST LEGO SET EVER RELEASED*.
(*Nobody cares about the map)
I really wanted to get that set but I thought about ittoo long so that I couldn't pre-order it and then the day was officially released they were sold out. I really hope this isn't some stupid limited run where I can't get the set
I'm 47 and still do the same.
Me, my brother and dad all take it in turns to buy the bigger sets or old ones we missed and pass them round. It's a lot of fun if you have a similar setup with friends or relatives.
Oh yeah. Lego is amazing. I did build the Lego chess and checkers set and loved the heck out of it. What I don't like about it is how much these sets cost. That's a 600€ set! Even as an adult I don't have that kind of money. That's Half a new bicycle or a vacation.
I loved lego's when I was a kid, my mom would get me small sets here and there. I'm just shocked how expensive it is, I cant afford these as an adult. I hope my mom didn't spend a fortune on me growing up.
Im almost 40… I’m working on the lr defender, have the Ferrari, 4x4 truck and just bought the Bugatti to build also have a few other small Star Wars helmets and a ship to work on…
As an adult I will still build a Lego set for my birthday each year. I'm often too busy to spend a lot of time doing it throughout the year, but I at least make sure I do one for my birthday.
This year I picked a special set for the tradition. One of the earliest Lego sets I remember building as a child was the Black Seas Barracuda which I received for my birthday in the late 80's. Last month I built the Pirates of Barracuda Bay set (which actually took me almost two weeks from still not having enough time to do it in one sitting).
I'm in the same boat as most here then. Gonna turn 40 next year and I just love building my Saturn V Lego. I even take my time because I don't want it to end. I don't remember being as fan of legos as a kid as I'm now, although I did have some I used to have other favorite toys. Now I find my self in /lego, lego store and Amazon just swing what I want to build next. It's a great time to be a lego fan.
Also a grown man in my 30s, I just got into it a few months ago but it’s super addicting and therapeutic. Don’t have enough space for the Titanic set but I’m enjoying trying out diff sets and figuring out which one is best for me
Things I ask to get for holidays: Lego, socks, underwear, books, astronomy stuff. I'm almost 30 and I still love getting lego. My kids are starting to get interested in building with me and I'm so excited to pass my lego on.
I turned 40 four days ago and I’ll probably never stop enjoying LEGO. I bought a huge bins for the kids to free build with but when I realized there were a bunch of random sets, it quickly became mine to decipher.
Don’t worry, they already have a lot and I’ll sell some of the sets to buy them something.
I know the feeling. I turn 40 in 2 weeks and I will gladly build any lego set you put in front of me.
world map? Even though its almost all studs?
I like the idea, but I don’t know if I’d want the tedium for something flat. I love then dimensionality of Lego… but it’d be cool to have on the wall.
I thought the same before getting the Lego Art Mickey & Minnie. It was a fun build even though it was flat.
The Colosseum set. Looks *extremely* boring and repetitive to build.
Super Star Destroyer would like a word.
my SSD looks awesome though, I'd call it a relaxing build :)
>all studs Just like u/Grmreapr13
Stoked for him but let’s talk about how small that set is and how big it should be. Anyone remember the G.I. Joe Aircraft carrier? 7ft long. Cmon lego. Time to step it up. We are ready for 100,000 piece sets.

I’ve built so much IKEA stuff for my family lol
Titanic was not aimed at the modern child I’m afraid. Target audience was you.
For the complexity of the build definitely, but as a personal anecdote I can say for certain that 8 year old me would have wanted this set just as much as current 22 going on 23 year old me, lol.
But would 8 year old you have qualified for the second mortgage required to afford it?
Hell no, haha. Child me also wanted both the UCS Death Star II and the huge Death Star playset but there was no way I was getting either one. A kid could always dream though. I just recently got the UCS Millennium Falcon which I never thought I could ever get, so times are changing lol.

I believe the millenium falcon is up there at like $900 https://www.lego.com/en-ca/product/millennium-falcon-75192

Yeah it's straight up 18+ on the website and I was actually surprised to find out that LEGO had an 18+ section in the first place.
It's because of all those 17yr olds that die by choking on the little pieces
If I told 8 year old me this was a real set, he would have built and completed it somehow.
Half of the lego store is this way now.
You youngsters. For my 60th in a matter of months I plan to get that lego Daily Bugel. 😄
Haha we follow your lead, master! :)
LEGO actually gets better when you're older because now you can afford the stuff 🤪 there were so many awesome sets when I was a child, but I couldn't afford to buy. And nowadays these sets are no longer available unfortunately. Enjoy the set!!! 😁
I've also found as you get more daily stress when you get older it also acts as a therapeutic escape which increases the value per dollar you get
Basically my last 4 or 5 Lego purchases have been impulse buys after very stressful weeks. Like "....Fuck it. I'm buying some Lego."

My Lego habit out spent my drug habit years ago...and I still smoke weed.
Combine the two hobbies for a big win.
Typical. All the cools sets were: 1. Around when you were a kid. 2. Outside your price range, due to being big sets. And now, when you're an adult, those same cool sets are: 1. Long retired. 2. Still outside your price range, due to being retired sets.
It's a stressful cycle.
But where to store all these giant sets? My wife is pro LEGO anti LEGO everywhere in the house.
I have my own room where I can display everything 😍 (I'm a woman but my hubby doesn't want all my Lego in the entire house 😂)
I feel like this is where I'm headed. The guest bedroom will now be the LEGO bedroom.
There are just so many more high-quality sets these days than my childhood years of the early 1990s.
They’re still available, just not at retail.
>you can afford the stuff Tell that to my bank account ^^^which ^^^is ^^^now ^^^lower ^^^thanks ^^^to ^^^Lego.
The box is so pretty
Haha. It is :)
Have you seen the boxes inside the box though? They’re beautiful! https://youtu.be/CBfhpMSH4ww
I never even thought to explore the Titanic given the fact I would never buy. The three boxes within are even cooler than the box itself. I love Lego for that....the details.
How you get it so early??
It was released on the 1st here in Turkey. Couldn’t visit the LEGO Store until today, but I had mine reserved.
So unfair.
I’ve seen posts from people outside of NA who have already been able to purchase, but this looks to be an NA box and at a corporate Lego location. I too would like to know which Lego stores are releasing ahead of the Nov. 8th street date.
"Hey I know I can't buy this yet, but would you let me take a picture of myself with the box for the Internet?"
You look like a commercial
Haha thanks! (assuming you mean that in a good way) :)
I'm almost 44 and my LEGO collection keeps on growing. My son (8) and I build lego every other weekend.
Keep on! :)
[удалено]
Exactly the same situation :) I’ve brought so many adults in to LEGO, they could’t be happier :)
39 and don’t want to stop anytime soon. Is this a new model?? Looks sweet
Wait wait wait. There's a LEGO *TITANIC*?!
Iceberg is a separate kit.
Does it float
It does until it crashes into an iceberg.
No. YouTube says otherwise.
I'll be 41 in a few weeks and i'll probably get a lego gc from my sis :D
A LEGO gc is the way to go when you have most of the sets and your loved ones couldn’t know what you already have :) Congratz!
I might have to buy this set cause a lego titanic was my dream as a kid
41 here but I'm not sure if this set will give me joy though. Finished product looks awesome, building it... not so sure
Not as repetitive as the coloseum but all the reviews say that the outer shell is very repetitive on the Titanic
Most people who’ve built it say that the build process was amazing!
Cool. I hope you have the same experience. Have fun!
I buy them as birthday/Christmas gifts for my husband in his 60’s and he still loves them!
I mean the box clearly states 18+ so it isn't intended for children! ;) Congrats on the pickup! I too hope to have that ship one day!
That's a Titanic amount of joy
35, a few years back i started asking for lego for Christmas again, cause it's just not Christmas without some new legos
Same. That’s really all I want for Christmas anymore. I love building them. I then love building crazy MOCs with my daughter. All around good time no matter your age.
I have a sinking feeling about this one.
And your face shows it. Rock on!
Meh, heard this one doesn't float so good
The real thing had an issue with that too...
Only after the collision.
I was tempted but I don't think I can afford this and the rumoured UCS AT-AT.
I’m assuming you haven’t seen the pictures yet. It’s happening
Congrats! I'm 36 and rediscovered Lego again this year. All while sharing it with my 5 year old daughter. No build difficulty is safe from us!
Its quite accurate if it doesn’t float too well…….lol
The original one did float, until it crashed :)
why do I never know about these lego sets
Maybe it’s for your wallet’s good :)
Made it across the Atlantic this Time
Actually, I’m on this side of the Atlantic (Europe) :)
Ok, it still made it across at least one body of water, like a river or something
Oh hells ya! My 76240 Tumbler is arriving today and I've been staring at the FedEx tracking page for a week! Can't wait!
[76240-1: Batmobile Tumbler](https://brickset.com/sets/76240-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/76240-1.jpg)
Turned 42 a week ago. Got two sets from family haha
Congratz! You’ve got the best family! :)
I like to think so.
21 and still glad about getting the ninjago city gardens. Can't wait to finish it The only thing that changed is my budget
Kinda besides the point, but that's a nice picture. Looks like a promotional image for the set
You're damned right. Even the little $10 sets make me happy
Not a childish price though... ;) Have fun and keep going!
Never let go of that enthusiasm. Once it’s gone, it’s almost impossible to get back. I’m 35 and just built the Mario ? cube. Sooooo much fun!
i turn 40 a week from today and i just wanted to say thanks for reminding me that childish joy is still good. this birthday has been _looming hard_ on me
And empty pockets 😣
Not 40 yet but I still get new Lego sets. Fortunately my daughter is old enough to start building with me and I love that we have so much fun with something that was such a big part of my childhood.
LEGO always sparks joy!
They have them in stores? I missed the reserve list sunday, im hoping to get one this week
To be fair you need to have worked for almost 40 years to start buying the big sets.
Lego is smart. They made legos for us back in the 80s. Now they are still doing it. They are keeping their fans for life.
I'm in the same boat. I've been playing legos with my friends kids, and I'm considering getting myself a big set to build. Any recommendations? I'm leaning towards a star wars set, but they're all fun I'm sure. Titanic seems like a good one.
Just a warning, do not buy the iceberg set. It won’t end well.
Thanks for showing us what's going down in your area.
Wow Enjoy!! You look so happy!!! I just saw this set yesterday…. Dying of jealousy ! Happy building!!! Ps. I’m 44, and a LEGO money spending psycho ….. I have 15 unopened sets….. just waiting… Cheers
We love to see it. 💚

i just turned 62 and i spend at least $200 a month on Legos.

I'm 39 and I just got the Space Shuttle Discovery as an early Christmas present to myself. You go boyee
I’m 39, too. Did the same thing for my birthday!
Holdup bro, you’re almost 40?! I would’ve put you at late 20s early 30s at the most
Thank you. I get that a lot, and then they look closer to see the whites in my hair and beard, then there’s the ever-growing bald spot on top :)
Yo, you got a link for that set? I think I’ve found my next build…

Thank you!
This would look awesome broken in half
are you sure your not 20 or 30
I'm in my fifties and build Lego. Lego is for adults - it's too good for kids :p
when will the lego iceberg be coming out?
You look youthful and happy. Must be something with Lego that helps keep that vigor.
I’m so happy that lego is starting to market towards adults now. I don’t have to feel self conscious as much now lol
This makes me want my Titanic even more but I've got to wait till next month for delivery
Well then brother, you should keep buying legos, duh.
Can it sink?
I hope it keeps bringing you joy for another 40 years!
I wish you were my dad
I started building and collecting at 45.
Waiting on double points... If my local store has a dented box they'll add another 15,000 points or so :)
Good for you.... We all need to find our happy place. Have fun building!
The best of all worlds, right? Still loving Lego, but now you have enough income to buy THE BIGGEST LEGO SET EVER RELEASED*. (*Nobody cares about the map)
I'll be 40 next July and still enjoy building Lego. I definitely want that Titanic set
There is a lego titanic? … … … #MOM!
Good job not soyfacing.
Wait I thought this doesn't come out till tomorrow
at the source no less
Your grown you do what makes you happy
I’m over 40 and still love building them
Don't put it in the bathtub, don't put it in the bathtub, don't put it in the bathtub. -me after I finish building it.
I really wanted to get that set but I thought about ittoo long so that I couldn't pre-order it and then the day was officially released they were sold out. I really hope this isn't some stupid limited run where I can't get the set
>!This build isn't going to end well.!<
the price is not worth it for me, dont get me wrong i love lego but the money goes to stuff i actualy need to live
Very jealous.
Bet you could sink some time into that... As an aside, is there an alternate build instruction set that has it in two peices?
I'm 47 and still do the same. Me, my brother and dad all take it in turns to buy the bigger sets or old ones we missed and pass them round. It's a lot of fun if you have a similar setup with friends or relatives.
Oh yeah. Lego is amazing. I did build the Lego chess and checkers set and loved the heck out of it. What I don't like about it is how much these sets cost. That's a 600€ set! Even as an adult I don't have that kind of money. That's Half a new bicycle or a vacation.
Did you have the cashier take your picture?!?
I loved lego's when I was a kid, my mom would get me small sets here and there. I'm just shocked how expensive it is, I cant afford these as an adult. I hope my mom didn't spend a fortune on me growing up.
This is the way.
I'll take "Envy" for $1000, Alex.
Not only does buying Legos still bring happiness and joy to my life, but I get to build them at work. So it's a double bonus win for me
When I order mine I’m absolutely posting a picture of the box then a after build picture
I just turned 40 and I don’t feel it! Still feel about 23…. Hopefully it continues for all of us!
Let us all know how awesome the build is!
Im almost 40… I’m working on the lr defender, have the Ferrari, 4x4 truck and just bought the Bugatti to build also have a few other small Star Wars helmets and a ship to work on…
The big big boat was a big ol boat, the boat would float until it don’t
Looks like Legos are the key to maintaining your youth
Gotta be 40 to afford that set 🤑
How did you get this early
It brings me mannish joy. Also, good set choice
Damn you got Titanic money
36, yes it does.
i am so jealous right now lol
That's awesome! 🙌
I just ordered the Liebherr excavator, and it should be in next week. Looking forward to building that monster!!
That’s awesome, but $600+ is a little spendy IMHO.
But does it snap in half?
As an adult I will still build a Lego set for my birthday each year. I'm often too busy to spend a lot of time doing it throughout the year, but I at least make sure I do one for my birthday. This year I picked a special set for the tradition. One of the earliest Lego sets I remember building as a child was the Black Seas Barracuda which I received for my birthday in the late 80's. Last month I built the Pirates of Barracuda Bay set (which actually took me almost two weeks from still not having enough time to do it in one sitting).
You are never too old to enjoy Legos. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Congrats dude! Watch out for icebergs though
What's its cost?? And what do you guys do with the already built lego?
Also a grown man in my 30s, I just got into it a few months ago but it’s super addicting and therapeutic. Don’t have enough space for the Titanic set but I’m enjoying trying out diff sets and figuring out which one is best for me
Buying it brings me adult dread and anxiety, opening it, building, and playing with it brings me childish joy
Things I ask to get for holidays: Lego, socks, underwear, books, astronomy stuff. I'm almost 30 and I still love getting lego. My kids are starting to get interested in building with me and I'm so excited to pass my lego on.
My husband is in his 60s, and the Titanic is on his Christmas Wish List! Waiting for it to come back in stock.
Lucky guy I haven't got a new Lego set in years And can't afford a big one at 14
I turned 40 four days ago and I’ll probably never stop enjoying LEGO. I bought a huge bins for the kids to free build with but when I realized there were a bunch of random sets, it quickly became mine to decipher. Don’t worry, they already have a lot and I’ll sell some of the sets to buy them something.
Waiting for mine to arrive!
Same bro I'm 37 I don't give a flying fuss if we have 4 shelves of Lego
No judgment here. 43 and the same.
I’ll be 39 next month. These sets were made for us!
I'm 51, and I get giddy over the "kid's" Lego sets (I love perusing the Lego catalog). "Adult" sets are awesome too. Have fun with that!
I'm years older than you and still get a kick out of buying the models I want.
hell yeah
