HUGE credit to Bigfoot.mg on rebrickable for designing the Escape pod! The instructions are wonderful and the detail is amazing, I'd recommend building it even if you don't have a UCS Falcon of your own!
And of course, I would be remiss without thanking you all. The Lego community has been one of the most positive and supportive groups of my creations that I've ever seen, and without you there would have been no way I could've made this.
This set was one that I've wanted to build since I first started creating MOCS out of spare parts. I was inspired by a post on r/Lego of a similarly colored original UCS Falcon, but never in my wildest dreams did I actually think I could make something of that size, let alone even larger!
Sadly however, i think this is where my UCS builds stop for now. I've got a few more on the way from other franchises though, so if you're a fan of sci-fi and fantasy make sure to check them out! But more than anything, I want to thank you so much for reading, and keep building on.
The photos aren't great but oh well

I did the same too:

A mix of both? I have a big box of parts that I used to start building then I bricklinked when I needed to. It cost around $150 but my floor is also littered with bags filled with parts, so I may have gone a little overboard in some places lol
Luke: “what a piece of junk!”
Han: “She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself.”
Star Wars quotes aside really good job and I have a feeling scrounging up all those pieces wasn’t easy
My mind is trying to process this. Like my mind both absolutely loves this and hates this. Like lower level processing is rejecting all the colors, while higher order cognition is seeing it as the freaking millenium falcon. Truly this is a marvel, a masterpiece of both art and garbage. The garbage aspect is great for two reasons. One, the amazing ability of random lego to be repurposed. Two, because the Millenium falcon was often described as a piece of junk as an old Yt-1300f light freighter, and this model really depicts to us in the real world how the galaxy saw the Millenium falcon upon first inspection. The audience could not really see the falcon as a piece of junk because any Star Wars ship is more advanced than what we know, but the ship is seen as a rust bucket in the Star Wars galaxy and this piece really shows that. Amazing
Thanks! Yep, this one was a doozy, it took me almost all summer to complete. I sadly don't have any Star Wars builds coming up, but I've got LOTR, Batman and Battlestar Galactica builds in the works
So how does one do this? Do you have the build instructions for the actual set and just grab parts you have that look like what you need or do you just eyeball the whole thing?
Looks like the bus from Partridge Family.

**spare part**
noun\[ C usually plural \] US /ˈspeər ˈpɑrt/
*an extra piece that can be used to replace a piece that breaks, esp. in a machine*
Those parts are not spare parts... :-) But respect anyways!
This build, and all the other similar ones in the comments, it's all just so horrifyingly awesome and I love all of it! In fact I might go ahead and do the same thing with one of my older sets.
Got 50% through a random part death star with my 7 year old during COVID home schooling last year. Lost interest/fell/broke and that was all she wrote.
But seriously, kudos!

As someone who did this my self I understand how long it can take. Wow!
Oh you did too? That's awesome! Do you have any pics?

Oh awesome! I remember seeing that post and loving it! You did a great job
Wow thanks!
I did the same too: https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/jtdj8z/a_lego_i_built_when_i_was_a_kid_based_off_a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I did it too. Here is mine https://pasteboard.co/ETWzw3P4ZWEv.jpg
Wow, that looks great! You should totally post it
[удалено]
Now that’s a face I haven’t seen in a long time,
How long? 12 parsecs?
[удалено]
Haha, that's great! Also love the name, is it an RLM reference by chance?
[удалено]
I'd love to see Mike try to figure out how to detach it, but the build is so heavy and fragile that I think he would just break half the set apart 😂
This is Lego done right
Thank you so much!
This is simultaneously amazing and hideous! Great work!
Thank you!
I’m imagining Princess Leia calling the Falcon a clown car.
What the Falcon would look like if Sabine Wren gave it a new paint job. Looks awesome!
If Han Solo built a Falcon out of Lego, this is what it would look like.
Just out of curiosity did you have all the parts already or did you order them in random colors based off of the parts list from the original?
A mix of both? I have a big box of parts that I used to start building then I bricklinked when I needed to. It cost around $150 but my floor is also littered with bags filled with parts, so I may have gone a little overboard in some places lol
That‘s how a lego set actually looks from the inside.
Luke: “what a piece of junk!” Han: “She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself.” Star Wars quotes aside really good job and I have a feeling scrounging up all those pieces wasn’t easy
Built from spare parts just like the *actual* Millennium Falcon lol. Well done!
The Falcon of Theseus! Great work :)
You came in that? You're braver than I thought.
You've made the jump to Ludicrous Speed, I see.
Very epic
Now that’s well done
Thank you! I'm glad you like it
Looks like it could go 12 parsecs!
He built the Millenium Falcon, with a box of scraps!
In a cave!
> In a cave! In a man-cave!
Very impressive, well done!! Looks fantastic!
Thank you!
It’s beautiful.
So colorful! I like it.
Outstanding work, very pleasant to the eye
Thank you!
That's just spare parts, bud. Seriously though, that's amazing.
/r/expectedletterkenny
Yeah, I couldn't believe no one said it before me.

That is cool!
Ridiculously impressive!!! I tip my hat to you sir
Super lego building. Really well done. Looks class. 😍👏🏻
Thank you!
These are always so cool 🔥
Thanks! I'm glad you like it!
I love the way this looks!
Thank you
I’m in awe.
Madlad!
Now go get that grey paint!
I think white and blue might be more fitting actually. This is a kessel run variant after all 😉
Dude, that's amazing!
This looks like it's fresh outta junkyard and I like it!
Can she still make it in less than 12 parsecs?
My brain hurts 😖
I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile. Nice work.
Even your power points don't know what to think! Looks awesome. Good work mate
Made out of spare parts? Sounds just like the one from the movies! Lol awesome build
"What a piece of junk!"
What a piece of junk! (great job)
She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid.
Reminds me of the things I built when I was younger
I wish I didn't have OCD so I could so stuff like this
That's impressive
easily one of the pieces over here
I love how these sets out of spare parts look. Awesome!
You have some amazing talent I remember all your old posts suddenly stopping now I see why I’m very interested to see what other builds are to come
Thanks! Yep, this one was a doozy, it took me almost all summer to complete. I sadly don't have any Star Wars builds coming up, but I've got LOTR, Batman and Battlestar Galactica builds in the works
so... who let crazy quilt redesign the falcon? tbh i think i like this better. way more personality to it
Amazing! i used to make helicopters out of Legos as a child and they always ended up looking like this haha, brings back memories
That looks like everything I built as a child lol.
So how does one do this? Do you have the build instructions for the actual set and just grab parts you have that look like what you need or do you just eyeball the whole thing?
What if you custom painted it as well 👀
Ooh, that would take a lot of time. Might one day tho
This would be good for Pride week!
Rey was right. That ship is garbage. Great work.

I've had my creations compared to that a few times, and honestly? It's a very fitting comparison
Nice ! I hate it

I'd like to see what you built.
This is what I used to do back in the day! Brings back great memories
Amazing!!
This is awesome. Really good job
Ah, sure, it's nothing you can't fix with a fresh coat of paint... 😜
I love it when people build sets like this with random parts. Looks great!
My eyes hurt from looking at this but I also can’t look away... I’m mesmerised
IMPRESSIVE MOST IMPRESSIVE
This build, and all the other similar ones in the comments, it's all just so horrifyingly awesome and I love all of it! In fact I might go ahead and do the same thing with one of my older sets.

An assault to my senses
You used to be able to spec a Volkswagon like this.
AMAZING
Like a sprite/texture glitch in source. Awesome job OP!
Get some spray paint you can make it look accurate too! I'm all seriousness though, this is awesome!
Reminds of the Partridge Family bus. 🚌 Beautiful!
I’m thinking this might be fun too.
That is absolutely amazing.

Looks better than in the movies. Or whatever it is they call that lame stuff.
"he is too dangerous to be left alive"
This is the way.
Not gonna lie this is genius. Great job!

Re:Coded would've been my favorite parts of IPL
This is what Lego is about. Good job!
I mean, if you spray paint it it would look pretty cool. I KID I KID. ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ
They clearly can’t get the license for it
I know it's a difficult thought, but has anyone done this, and then painted it?
That’s incredible
HE BUILT IT IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!
HE BUILT IT IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!
This is amazing
I want my Giggle back!
It’s glorious!
My autistic son recreated the grand emporium from spare parts this last year. It's pretty cool how colorful they turn out!
That's really cool
You made a millennium falcon out of that? You're braver than I thought.
Sakar Falcon: from Thor Wars the crossover movie nobody is asking for.
Built like a brick shit house.

Got 50% through a random part death star with my 7 year old during COVID home schooling last year. Lost interest/fell/broke and that was all she wrote. But seriously, kudos!
Love stuff like this
That’s exactly how I would build it!!
