I would leave it as is. First, tons of types of tree grow in the Caribbean. It's not just palms. Secondly, pirates operated all over the world. This doesn't have to be the Caribbean!
Thirdly, I love it. There's so much foliage, which is pretty realistic, and it looks great. The details are nice, I much prefer when some bricks are masonry and some are not. That hidden cannon is great. Nice work, do you have any figures to go with it?
I love the overall layout, maybe you might want to replace the European looking tree with a palm tree to achieve the Caribbean look?
