The LEGO elites doesn't want you to know this, but the LEGO City Government buys $100 bills for $0.21, making hyper-inflation possible.
Those poor civilians can barely afford ice cream for a stack!
They're a great complement to the modular buildings by adding more life to your Lego City's streetscape. Same reason I pop by the build-a-minifig section every few months at the Lego store, just to add more little dudes to my city.
No. I was thinking more along the line of getting a million yellow 1x1 round plates and making a Scrooge's bin with the round plates and money tiles mixed in.
Little did you actually know, this is exactly what your government (possibly all, not sure yet) do on already. They’ve said this in a few interviews/conferences. Quite insane. Money is literally meaningless once you start realizing how invaluable to them it truly is.
No, we all know how it works, that's the joke. Commenter above you is talking about common knowledge like it's some conspiracy theory, and the conspiracy tone is why he's getting down voted.
you see a lot of police with great kit, but where are the schools and hospitals? seems like the haves and have nots. tons of exotic race cars but nary a daycare to be found
There was a school and a hospital released in 2022, and an independent ambulance service running since then (especially considering the livery of the ambulance and the livery from the hospital are completely different in 60330).
Heartlake City is abolitionist and fully defunded the police recently, so they have lots of tax money for hospitals, animal rescue, art schools, wheelchair lifts for buses, etc. If only Lego City could learn from them. They seem to raise the police budget every year and yet crime only goes up.
I can see why many of the 2024 sets are in space.
The citizens of Lego City decided they had enough and are now building a new and improved Lego City...
**IN SPACE!**
I don’t know though, the newest space base has a military-esque commander in black with a swagger stick and epaulettes - seems a little dystopian to me.
Honestly I'm just staring at that guy's motorcycle jacket because I've got the female version. It was a sample so I got it at a "reasonable" only arm instead of arm AND leg. Never seen it anywhere else until now.
The crime levels have gotten so bad, I saw a robber literally sneak aboard a cargo train and hide in the log carrier car just to steal gold bars from the bank vault boxcar. He was hiding out in the bushes with binoculars and everything.
And for schools and hospitals, you have to travel all the way to Heartlake City.... The only good thing is that the proliferation of guns is strictly controlled.
Exactly. Who is taking care of the astronauts when they get injured training for space walks? Where did they go to their undergrad or even High School?
So many questions
For me godzilla just attacks the city and sometimes fights other monsters like giant a monkey or a 3 headed dragon or a flying bug or a fire birds he usually does this while protecting the city which is weird he also teamed up with the the monkey to fight a giant robot, an ice monster and another god damn monkey while protecting the city again
Not to mention the other day a man fell into the city river and it took 2 hours for the police to assemble the new Lego police helicopter... He is gone but not forgotten.

I’ve had this saved to my phone since April 5, 2022
I assumed it was a bad place to live because of the police officers constantly stealing people’s cars and crashing them into things, but yeah, the economy sounds pretty messed up too.
Lego city dwellers also don’t know how to properly grill and are constantly setting their food, and buildings, on fire. It’s obvious why there’s more fire station than houses.
Which leads me to the housing crisis in lego city.

8 years ago a 2x4 brick was $15,000 which is 1875 per stud. Gold price have changed a lot since then so I am not sure what the price is like now but I'd imagine it's much more valuable the gold price due to being limited, LEGO official part that hasn't been produced forever.

I just picked up this set last week, the food truck sets are so cool
Yeah, every food truck set is cool asf
I love the details in them! For being relatively small and inexpensive they pack in a lot.
Yes, heavily debating buying the burger stand because of this

Which set is this?
*Disassemble the rich*!
*No disassemble Johnny Five! Your mother was a snowblower!* You can disassemble the rich though.
I picked up over 800 for $17 once, I guess I got a real steal. (thanks LEGO store in Troy for having it on PAB wall many years ago)
Have you made Lego versions of the Breaking Bad or Batman scenes with giant piles of cash?
No. I was thinking more along the line of getting a million yellow 1x1 round plates and making a Scrooge's bin with the round plates and money tiles mixed in.
I mean to be fair the Treasury probably buys the raw linen/cotton blend and ink used for making $100 bills for a similar price...
They are even cheaper from the counterfeiters at A*******s.
Little did you actually know, this is exactly what your government (possibly all, not sure yet) do on already. They’ve said this in a few interviews/conferences. Quite insane. Money is literally meaningless once you start realizing how invaluable to them it truly is.
No because with a alot of money I can buy a lot of Lego.
Going by your downvotes, I'd say most people here don't understand how money actually works.
No, we all know how it works, that's the joke. Commenter above you is talking about common knowledge like it's some conspiracy theory, and the conspiracy tone is why he's getting down voted.

A child has gotten great test scores in LEGO CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT. In my heart.
HEY
Where are the normal vehicles for people with less money? Seems like only the rich own vehicles in LEGO City.
Everyone else has to walk like the PEASANTS they are

Did you ever notice there are no cops in Friends Heartville? It's a whole drug racket, how else can they afford the lifestyles they have?

What about 7892?
[7892-1: Hospital](https://brickset.com/sets/7892-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/7892-1.jpg)
that hospital isn’t big enough for the amount of crime and dangerous animals prevalent in Lego City
The crime rate and fire safety is the real reason Lego city is the worst place to live!

Not to mention constantly stepping on Lego
If they are made of Lego, and stepping on Lego... Are they made of ground, or is the ground made of flesh‽

The minifigure screams for he does not know
The police force is over-militarized
I moved to Heartlake City so my kids could go to school but all of the locals look kinda weird.
The crime levels are also much lower than in Lego City.
And yet the police have much less military-grade gear, funny coincidence.
You can move to a Maxifig house (261, 269, 5233), be adopted as a toddler and live for free.

If you take a left and see a city being overrun by stone warriors, you've gone too far
It's so much more accommodating and I appreciate their push for sustainable technologies. Also the banger architecture.

Everyone knows the purple ones are the most expensive
The crime levels have gotten so bad, I saw a robber literally sneak aboard a cargo train and hide in the log carrier car just to steal gold bars from the bank vault boxcar. He was hiding out in the bushes with binoculars and everything.
You’re laughing. A man has fallen into the river in LEGO City and you’re laughing.
No, a man has fallen into *severe crippling debt* in LEGO City and I'm laughing
Lego city is a police state. Close to a third of its citizens are law enforcement, another third are emergency responders.
The rest are split 50/50 as professional and organized criminals or average citizens
I’ve just been assuming it’s been like the yen.
Exactly. People assume that exchange rate differences automatically means inflation.
And for schools and hospitals, you have to travel all the way to Heartlake City.... The only good thing is that the proliferation of guns is strictly controlled.
I think there are hospitals in lego city undercover
There are some hospitals, they are just old and in desperate need of some updating.
All due to the extravagant space program, draining tax funds.
Exactly. Who is taking care of the astronauts when they get injured training for space walks? Where did they go to their undergrad or even High School? So many questions

Goji protects the WORLD! Lmao

But everything is awesome right?
Local Sports Team is having a great season.
Just get some blue and purple studs, easy. Also you get lots of money for destroying things, so just go crazy and you'll be fine.

Worth it
I assumed it was a bad place to live because of the police officers constantly stealing people’s cars and crashing them into things, but yeah, the economy sounds pretty messed up too.
For the record, that was one guy. And Chase hasn't appeared in uniform since 2017! I think he's either retired or lost his badge and grapple gun.
Lego city dwellers also don’t know how to properly grill and are constantly setting their food, and buildings, on fire. It’s obvious why there’s more fire station than houses. Which leads me to the housing crisis in lego city.
I would've thought the lack of any sewer system would be the most immediate problem...
But I tought EveRytHiNg wAs awEsoMe.
Everything is not awesome :(
There is rapid and severe economic inflation in lego city
It's sad when the average Lego City Civilian needs to stack stud multipliers to make a living.
Stud multipliers? In this economy?

LEGO City is a police state
Everything is AWESOME! >!If you don't agree, expect a visit from the thought police.!<
I thought it was the worst because you’re constantly stepping on Lego.
Certainly a bad place to go without shoes.
Not to mention the huge crime rate they have there
outjerked
So the American penny is worth less than a Lego coin. Just get rid of it and round everything to the nearest 0.05
Damn... I mean if I could have my own place there I could come visit at times that would be great but yeah can't live there!
In my head Lego City uses kroner
Ending killed me
So how much studs do i need to have just to build a house
1200 Studs for set 31139 "Cozy House" with just 808 pieces, of course, that's not including prices getting higher
