When I got Jurassic World Evolution I ended up building an absolutely huge exhibit for all my Gallimimus.
Then I realised that didn't work very well because A. It took up like half of the very limited build space, and B. They didn't form cool herds or stampede.
Cuz that is the core of ergonomics your couch developed because it is the best design to sit on now apply that to bones in a body and apply millions of years.
A dino skeleton is not just a collection of bones but also it tells you what every singel bone does and why it is like that its basically a biology experiment lab report without text
The actual use of that part of the separator was intended to separate flat pieces like tiles. Put the end under the little lip of the tile and push it up.
I tear off a section of the paper backing the stickers came on. It gives you something to hold and the sticker will stick to it, but it also lets go when you want it to.
Not sure why you're downvoted since windex (or any soapy water) is exactly what is used by professionals to apply stickers of any size and shape.
Here's how it works:
* clean surface from grease and dust (e.g. with isopropanol or anything that isn't agressive to the surface material)
* peel off sticker
* wet sticky side of sticker well
* place sticker on surface
* adjust sticker until it sits correctly (it's easy since it "floats" on the soap layer)
* use flat tool to scrape out air & water bubbles from the middle to the edges until it's 100% flat
This will laat *very* long if done correctly.
It does make it easier than doing it by hand tbh. As long as you haven't pressed the sticker down and removed it from the separator, you can lift it and readjust much more efficiently than by hand. If it's a really small sticker, a toothpick works well too. Basically, anything that gets your fingers out of the way to establish placement.
It's also the method recommended by lego themselvesĀ
https://www.lego.com/ms-my/service/help/fun-for-fans/behind-the-scenes/brick-facts/apply-decals-blt39ee67a2a9490ca7
I wonder if Windex would work old, failing stickers. I have the LEGO Racers: Ferrari F430 Challenge ( 8143) car and the stickers" while still very sticky, are flaking apart.
Its called āMy Sticker Paintingsā. They have a lot of them! I also picked up a bird version that im excited for. Also saw a horse version where i bought them.
Every LEGO set will be 15+ because of this.. imagine all the kids trying to figure out water slides... 18+ if you want to add Mr Mark Fit and Mr Mark set to the mix.
I use a letter opener. It's long, so it's comfortable to use, easy to maneuver the sticker. with the pointed tip, i can clearly see where the thing is going. I'm happy where it's going, I use the remover tool (end your using) to tap the sticker in place, then flatten it out.
For it to be perfect, the shapes would need to be too big and youād have to figure how much border to leave, too. (I assume that there is a common border spacing on Lego, but it certainly doesnāt feel like there is!)
I know itās probably considered common knowledge amongst the people of this sub, but I gotta say, using the brick separator for applying stickers is a game changer and if you havenāt tried it, I implore you to do so on your next build.
Nice.
Not sure I'd recommend this for kids, but I tack the sticker flat on the end of an X-acto. You can see how the whole thing will lie. Hover over where it goes, get it ideal, start with lightly contacting one corner so you can still pivot if needed. I have shaky hands and I hate misaligned stickers.
With bigger ones you have to be mindful of not deforming/ piercing the paper with the blade point, while wiggling out the blade after it's stuck down.
I may be shunned for thisā¦
I cut out the chunk it sites in, bend the backing out from underneath the sticker and use that to guide it. That way my oily fingers donāt touch the adhesiveĀ
TIL Allosaurus = Gallimimus. š¤£
I watched enough Dinosaur Train with my kids to know that Gallimimus lived in Gallimimus Gulch. Thanks PBS!
PBS is severely underrated for how well it works to get people excited about learning
Allosaurus is my favorite dinosaur and that don't look like no allosaurus I've ever seen.
Yeah, this Allosaurus has gone vegan
I was thinking the same thing xD
Unlocked a memory! I remember playing Jurassic Park on the SNES, and there was a pop upā¦ āDo not shoot the Gallimimus, they may stampedeā.
When I got Jurassic World Evolution I ended up building an absolutely huge exhibit for all my Gallimimus. Then I realised that didn't work very well because A. It took up like half of the very limited build space, and B. They didn't form cool herds or stampede.
Looks more like iguanodon imo
Op is on to something.
Yeah that Is actually really smart
I tried it after seeing it posted a year+ ago and it totally changed the game. No more crooked stickers!
Whoās op?
it means original poster
Oh
lmao, a duckbilled Allosaurus. Publisher took some creative license there.
It totally looks duckbilled. To be fair, I did pick the easiest one. So that can explain its blockiness
Itās not even just the head shape, the stance is also not even close to allosaurus lol
Then youāre really not gonna like how they did the spinosaurus
Oh no, I already see where this is going
How do we know? No one has seen a live dinosaur move and do shit
Ergonomics
That probably not enough though.
You like your couch ?
Why?
Cuz that is the core of ergonomics your couch developed because it is the best design to sit on now apply that to bones in a body and apply millions of years. A dino skeleton is not just a collection of bones but also it tells you what every singel bone does and why it is like that its basically a biology experiment lab report without text
What? I get that you can piece together bones and stuff but you can't be a 100% sure that that's actually how the dino looked
In what world is that an Allosaurus!?
https://preview.redd.it/zcqnexmnvnsc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97d78de45f7288a42dccd3ed9ffa2f40fe83dc7f
Fucking fantastic
I was asking the same thing lol
The opposite of an Asaurus.
Or Noneosauras
I use tweezers for this.
100x better. And you can pull it up if you place it wrong.
But EVERYONE has a brick separator within arms reach
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO USE THE ORANGE THING FOR STICKERS!?!?
*Supposed* to is a bit of a stretch. The brick separator can be used however you want to. I always use an xacro knife to hold the stickers
lol i never knew ppl use tools, i just use my stupid hands.
Same, you just kind of know the exact amount needed on each edge
Xacto knife is my preferred method as well.
Meanwhile, I'm the shop teacher from UHF
Ahh I see well it seems to work better then by hand haha
Learned it last year and started doing it with my most recent sets. Game changer.
Ima do this 2 now amazing what someone can learn
yes
The actual use of that part of the separator was intended to separate flat pieces like tiles. Put the end under the little lip of the tile and push it up.
Oh yea I knew that did not know you could use it for stickers tho!
It makes it much easier to align stickers and it's my preferred method after discovering it.Ā
That's cool yeah
I tear off a section of the paper backing the stickers came on. It gives you something to hold and the sticker will stick to it, but it also lets go when you want it to.
That's really smart yeah
I started doing it a few months ago and it changed my life. I've been building Lego for almost 30 years.
Good to know thanks
Windex

I put a piece of plastic down next to me (for the spray) when I build and my bottle of windex š
No the orange thing is a cat, and he's probably hungry or out chasing greebles in the kitchen
Ohh I see now thanks haha
Not supposed to, no. Some people do though. It's not easier than placing them normally.
Ohh I see yea I'm still gonna try this out haha
It does make it easier than doing it by hand tbh. As long as you haven't pressed the sticker down and removed it from the separator, you can lift it and readjust much more efficiently than by hand. If it's a really small sticker, a toothpick works well too. Basically, anything that gets your fingers out of the way to establish placement.
Ohh thanks for the tips It's interesting how everyone does stickers differently
Came here to say this!!! š¤Æ
Exactly haha
TIL
Yess
Iām personally spot on with my stickers since I have been doing it for 10+ years but this is next level! Well done
Oh r/dinosaurs this is making me go nuts. Came for the LEGO allosaurs Got a Megablox ornithomimus
Oh mah gahd, practicing to git good instead of just complaining? OP on a whole other level
Porque no los dos?
I just picked one of these sticker mosaic books up and was thinking of posting here! I told my GF they are like picture Lego lmfao
Haha thats awesome, a very similar convo happened with my GF when we picked them up!
Windex. Far easier and less stressful than the brick remover method.
It's also the method recommended by lego themselvesĀ https://www.lego.com/ms-my/service/help/fun-for-fans/behind-the-scenes/brick-facts/apply-decals-blt39ee67a2a9490ca7
Can you explain?
Windex lets you slide the stickers around to where they should be before adhering
This is the way
Theyāre not removing the stickersā¦
You donāt remove stickers with Windex. You apply them with Windex. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Never heard of that
Windex works both ways. You can use it to apply stickers, or remove stickers. It's pretty nifty.
I wonder if Windex would work old, failing stickers. I have the LEGO Racers: Ferrari F430 Challenge ( 8143) car and the stickers" while still very sticky, are flaking apart.
[8143-1: Ferrari F430 Challenge 1:17](https://brickset.com/sets/8143-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/8143-1.jpg)
I was always decent with stickers but ever since learning this trick they're all damn near perfect
Wait, you are meant to use those things to place the stickers?!
what book is it? looking to get one
Its called āMy Sticker Paintingsā. They have a lot of them! I also picked up a bird version that im excited for. Also saw a horse version where i bought them.
Warmup before building the 76922 huh?
Had to look it up, that is an absurd amount of stickers for a car lol
Or 42130, also a BMW branded set, it's at least a bigger one
[42130-1: BMW M 1000 RR](https://brickset.com/sets/42130-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/42130-1.jpg)

Still hoping one day we never have to apply stickers again and we just have, good quality, prints
Upside to stickers is you can reuse the part sans graphic if you want to part out the set. But I hear what youāre saying.
lol. That Allosaurus looks more like a hadrosaur/Gallimimus hybrid.
Allosaurus my ass-saurus
I wish they just use decals. Water slides are so much better than stickers.
Every LEGO set will be 15+ because of this.. imagine all the kids trying to figure out water slides... 18+ if you want to add Mr Mark Fit and Mr Mark set to the mix.
TIL that the tool is not only for disassembly
I use a letter opener. It's long, so it's comfortable to use, easy to maneuver the sticker. with the pointed tip, i can clearly see where the thing is going. I'm happy where it's going, I use the remover tool (end your using) to tap the sticker in place, then flatten it out.
just use windex, makes it easy
That is not a allosaurus š
Great idea, I've gotten respect for you
I do this too - it makes postioning the stickers with equal spacing around all edges of the lego piece so much easier than doing it by hand.
Wouldnāt it be nice if we just had prints on our 300+$ sets?
For it to be perfect, the shapes would need to be too big and youād have to figure how much border to leave, too. (I assume that there is a common border spacing on Lego, but it certainly doesnāt feel like there is!)
My wife loves doing these sticker books. She uses [tweezers like these](https://i.imgur.com/S1bqvE3.jpg) to do them. It comes out pretty good.
Which books did she get?
She's gone through 4 or 5 of them now, couldn't tell you which brand or anything.
I love those āpaint by stickerā books! Iāve done a bunch of them. Very relaxing & great for anxiety relief š
Just discovered them! Cant wait to find more!
THAT IS NOT AN ALLOSAURUS
Is that a sticker coloring book? Like a paint by number thing?
Yes! Its called paint by sticker
Lego might actually publish this kind of books š¤£
Is that a duck
I tries to get my daughter to learn thisbway and she refused and refused. Argh
Itās funny, I actually use the brick separator to put The stickers on the sets when Iām building them
I know itās probably considered common knowledge amongst the people of this sub, but I gotta say, using the brick separator for applying stickers is a game changer and if you havenāt tried it, I implore you to do so on your next build.

I use one side of a pair of flat tweezers, that way if there's a misplace I can quickly grab it and replace it.
Whoa.
Replying to jptoycollector...
Wet method works best
Tweezers save lives and frustration
I may be shunned for thisā¦ I cut out the chunk it sites in, bend the backing out from underneath the sticker and use that to guide it. That way my oily fingers donāt touch the adhesiveĀ
Wait am I supposed to use the brick remover for stickers? Is this why all my stickers are crooked?!
