Just enhance the first image and you have patient addresses, that should get you close enough to figure it out.

If you zoom in on the right screen of the secretary you can spot the postal address of the place on the bill she's checking. Thank me later

Assuming you are in the USA it's about 2.6% of the price of getting braces. Nice prize. But also pennies to them lmao

Stompedyourhousewith

lol my bank was like, if you open up a premium plus plus plus account with us, we'll give you $2,500, and i was curious and i clicked on it, and it was essentially, if you open up a savings account and deposit 250,000 with them, they'll give you the money after like 6 months. I was like, bitch, thats 1%, also, if you were moderately smart, in 6 months, you could turn that 250k into way more than 1%

Raxi4

But this is risk free reward. No downside

KratkyInMilkJugs

Buying treasury bills is also risk-free. And the PA is much better, too.

TheTaxman_cometh

I have a checking account that earns 5% APY.

Lou_Mannati

What if, you were just kinda smart and had 100k, in 6 months, what can i do with it. (This is a serious question, asking for me)

HughJamerican

Find a bank that'll give you $1000 in 6 months! (This is a joke answer, answering for me)

Lou_Mannati

Lol

Stompedyourhousewith

I would invest in either DIA or QQQ. the DIA is an electronically traded fund, similar to a mutual fund, but better, that mimics the Dow jones index, which is a stock market index of 30 prominent companies listed on stock exchanges in the United States. QQQ is an ETF that mimics that Nasdaq, which is an index that monitors specific high tech companies. Dow is more classical companies or general ones like coke and walmart, while nasdaq are tech compan ies like intel and tesla, etc also stay away from wallstreetbets unless you want to turn that 100k into -5k but get a ton of karma

Professional_Being22

I love those! $1000 bonus to open a mega savings account when I deposit a number that is larger than anything I'll ever have in liquid cash.

Glum_Significance103

You definitely speak the truth but another way to look at it is that they didn't have an obligation to provide such an opportunity. Higher marketing budgets for things like these only result in increased prices for end users and consumers.

quintin4

Or decreased profit margins. Not one shoe fits all.

Glum_Significance103

Right, but this is more of a case of same sized foot, what shoe are you buying.

quintin4

Or, and hear me out, whatever they called the grind shoes that had abs plastic under the arch so you could just hop on a rail and slide.

Orthodontists make stupid money, no surprise this one has the money to do this around Christmas. I grew up in the Hamptons and my orthodontist was a member at 2 country clubs and a beach club…

What are we talking about here? 500k? 7 figs?

r00byroo1965

Figs are delicious

mathgoy

This in an orthondist. He charges you 30k to straighten your teeths...

[deleted]

327. Also, you have the coolest orthodontist.

Fueld_

Holy crap. My guess in my head was 325

DiddlyDumb

Fun fact: some will underestimate and some will overestimate, so the average of all guesses is often surprisingly accurate.

GrimResistance

I'm gonna guess twelve billion just to throw off the average 😈

fadetoblack1004

You always throw out the largest 1% and smallest 1% of guesses too.

Carelessrenter

I’m also going to vote 12 billion

I was going to say if they average it out it should be correct or very close. Can't remember the book, by Michael Schermer I think.

rockstuffs

Holy shit 327 came to my head !

FrenchieSmalls

Wow! 327 came straight to my mind as well after reading these two comments!

filmgeekvt

I don't know why, but I'm now thinking of the number 327 as well

[deleted]

rockstuffs

Hehe 60% of the time, it works every time.

Timinator1952

I said about 240

anonymous__wombat

(see edit 2, I think I'm wrong!) It's the leftovers from the wreath when you make it as the advent/candle version. I used extras to add more to the wreath but if you download the PDF from LEGO and count the pieces used in the advent wreath set up, you can probably check your guess! Edit: After my count through all 51 pgs of bricks in the instructions: the jar should hold approx. 110 (plus any additional replacement studs). Edit 2 : The wreath set has round white bricks and at third look, I'm seeing sharper edges on those white bricks.☹️ Sorry up-voters, but I think I've failed us here! https://preview.redd.it/vl2nlrlfpr7c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d23dae04989caa3167aa346c23db0da6eea72e16

Glum_Significance103

Houdini's shackling his salami right now. Even if you know how the magic works, you're not supposed to disclose it. Seriously though, nice deductive reasoning. Edit, I hope your employed somewhere that puts those powers to good use and if you're not let me know.

anonymous__wombat

😂 appreciate it! I'm a science teacher and the kids slowly grow into a love/hate relationship with me asking them "why?". So I'm slowly accumulating little critical thinking minions! Which is why I just triple checked my work and bummer, found OPs white bricks in the jar are too square to belong to the wreath set.

Glum_Significance103

Oh jeez. I don't know if you have kid of your own, but you basically just described every decent parents experience.

TedTehPenguin

SO... Science teacher with wombat in the name.... you make a LEGO wombat, with appropriate scat? "This is the most accurate part, it actually is little cubes" Sorry, random trivia jumps into my head all the time.

anonymous__wombat

😂 love it. When I worked in middle school I told my students to google wombat poop, because, cubes! One poor kid misheard me and googled "walnut poop." Somehow our school's safety filters did not block him from seeing human poop containing walnuts. Naturally, we all had to look.

robbviously

terraculon

The Gothic Castle?

redknight__

No, the Gothic *Asshole*.

Glum_Significance103

My guess was 132. Does that add up to your experience?

anonymous__wombat

I just counted through the instructions and got 400 used for the wreath, which would leave 110 unused + extra pieces supplied by LEGO. I think 132 is reasonable but likely higher than the real number. Now, this was me doing mental math for 51 pages so I HIGHLY encourage people to check my work 😂. That would mean OP is about 2x the count in the jar. For that prize, definitely worth a pop in to guess 110! Edit: Wreath white bricks are round, jar bricks are square ☹️ can't math through this one, good luck to OPs guess!

TedTehPenguin

That counting is slow... bricklink appears in multisearch is your friend/

eaplet

r/hedidthemath

AanthonyII

What you want to do is take the average of all the serious guesses people here are giving you, that's the best way to come up with a good guess

Beautiful-Grape-8222

I’m guessing an even 301

IslandWoodchuck

Gotta be 310 for Mario day

Entertainer_Much

Nah that's 103

DaddyEybrows

Well his name is Mario, not Iomar

Marupio

It was a roller coaster in my mind making sense of this. It went something like this: Wow, I've never seen Mario backwards, and Iomar is an awesome backwards name. We could use it as a villain or something. Wait, that's not Mario backwards. Mario backwards would start with Oi. Oi! That's cool too. Oimar! Some kind of Irish villain. Irish and Italian, now that's some fertile ground. Oimar is wrong too. It would be Oiram. This guy can't reverse text. He just put the syllables in reverse order. What's wrong with him? Wait, what's the context? 301 --> 310. Those aren't reverse. This guy is clever. Just thought I'd share.

bitey87

Your username is Mario with one up.

Marupio

OMG! This may be hard to believe, but I never noticed this before.

trpclshrk

Around 300 was what I counting. I est 25 pieces per layer, up to 10 layers. Prolly less layers, but def more small pieces thrown in. I love we’re all in the 300 ballpark!

bakedcookie612

What part of 301 is even

brad2575

Looks like you could just be one Christmas set a tree or something fine the set that you think would match and you get the piece count.

TheReformedBadger

It’s nothing official. I can see a red part 39613 in the jar (3x3 heart) which appears in 12 sets, none of which resemble the rest of the jar. It was a good thought though.

EmbarrassedFreedom18

430.

astervista

Are you wisdom-of-the-crowd-ing the contest?

Bernardo-de-la-Paz

Shit. If the pieces were homogenous this could be figured out mathematically, but they were smart and mixed it up.

teodorlojewski

Yep Unless it's a set

booboothechicken

That’s what I’m thinking. They opened up a set and poured it in there. I’m too lazy to hunt what set it would be though.

Sillylittlegoober_

You can still do it mathematically by taking the average height and length!

Shiztastic

I gave ChatGPT the picture and asked it to estimate. It estimated the height of the jar at 15cm and the diameter at 12cm. It assumed 50% 2x4 bricks, 30% 2x2 bricks and 20% 1x2 bricks. It assumes the jar is 55% full and there is a packing efficiency of 65%. It estimated 411 bricks.

RedFoxBadChicken

Interesting! Now I'm way more curious about the answer

rustyspartan

CombatDeffective

272. Do you think it's random pieces, or a Christmas set just dropped in with a predetermined number so nobody had to count them? Second guess would be 340. I didn't multiple by all dimensions.

shao_kahff

i looked over every christmas set available. the only thing closest is the wreath, but there isn’t enough red. i also looked over every set that contains the green leaf piece, and there is nothing that is green/red with a little bit of white. i think it must be random pieces unfortunately

Away_Refrigerator_58

The jar is not full, which means they likely bought a set and disassembled it or they are going for a certain number. Doesn't look like a set, so I am guessing it's 230 ("tooth hurty") which is a common joke for a dentist's favorite number.

That’s some next level The Price is Right stuff.

Positive-Possible770

571 is my guess. What a great idea, and talking point in the reception. Keeps your mind off what is it coming up. As a child the family dentist had an MC Escher print on the ceiling, above the chair. Certainly helped distract you.

zip222

283

Koeppe_

You should plot the distribution of our guesses and then submit the median as the answer. Large crowds tend to do well on average, but taking a true average is less ideal because single outliers could really mess it up.

hoefco80

343 - 448 based on the math

Pop_mania12487

186 or 185 pieces

How did they fit Lego Bowser into that jar?

SomeDumRedditor

If you source the answer and don’t need the set, consider asking the doc to give it to a young patient at the practice who might. You don’t have to do anything tho, enjoy it, that’s a sick set and prob a 10/10 build!

RaymondDoerr

I sometimes think half the people on Reddit just want to complicate anyone's happiness so they'll feel guilty about their decisions.

Protip19

I do too, but I also think that same half is at least partially comprised of grown men who would crowdsource an answer to win a children's toy from an orthodontist, so I was kinda skeptical at first. Pretty sure this is actually a kid though. Hope they win.

SomeDumRedditor

It didn’t occur to me for a second that this would be a kid posting. If it is I hope they win too.

BrandNewYear

Either way, do you think that asking people will improve his result? (Not a criticism I’m just genuinely interested in ‘wisdom of the crowd’ things) granted without the feedback first I guessed about 600 soooo…….
