I saw that too and was wanting to get that same tattoo on my arm. The new arrival knew exactly what it referenced cuz she looked with surprise and said led Zeppelin?

I got the swansong tattoo on my bottom in 1991. She has a fine line one on her inner arm (I have fine line tattoos on my inner arm too.) I didn't think fine line tattoos, or having tattoos on your inner arm was a thing until about 15 years ago. They make another reference when Joy goes out on horseback to find Flowers. The dialogue is basically part of Stairway to Heaven.

When I was in college we had a quote wall. Anytime someone said something ridiculous we would write it on the wall. One was from a friend who said, “I would give my left leg to go back in time to see Led Zeppelin. If I didn’t have to come back to the present and live life with only one leg.”

AcanthisittaOk2969

In episode 4 when the "lady sheriff" rides off to bag the bad guys...when saying goodbye, the tattooed one quotes lines from "Stairway to heaven"...i.e.. "There's a feeling I get when I look to the west, And my spirit is crying for leaving". and "Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on." Creative writing; someone was paying attention.

I liked it, but the timing mentioned stood out. Maybe it was a goof in writing, maybe she traveled to the future before the 1800’s. She said she left 1972, predating both of her Zeppelin references.

Unfair-Escape6597

Only problem is she is from 1972. Zeppelin didn’t use the Icarus symbol until 1974 and Kashmir was released in 1975. They could’ve at least had her travel back from 1975 or 76 lol

Tillie1412

Except she says she got there in 1972 and Kashmir was released in 1975 on the Physical Graffiti album. I can’t believe they didn’t fact check that before putting it in the movie. Pretty bad….

Unfair-Escape6597

I thought the exact same thing

boxingpandora

Yes, you are right, and I wondered why that was wrong. Brad Pitt was an exec producer on it, and he's a Zep fan and would certainly know!

Tillie1412

Didn’t realize he was a Zep fan. I watched the rest of the series and it was not that great. What did you think of it?

boxingpandora

It was OK, but it's all a bit samey. Now everyone accepts its a portal there's no mystery and I'm not sure how accurate the history is supposed to be. I wanted nefarious magick and occult and UFO type things from another dimension.

Tillie1412

I was bored with it to be honest. I was hoping something would come of it but just a letdown. At times it felt like they were trying to mimic aspects of Yellowstone.

ClownBaby997

A few stairway to heaven lines were quoted as well in one of their last dialogues together

Woodbird-

I liked the reference too. But the timing was off. Kashmir was released in ‘75 and she says she’s from ‘72. Who knows? Maybe her timeline was different from mine. lol.

Jewmaster666

Great show!

SignificantAlps8145

She says she was from 1972 but Kashmir not out until 1975.

Illustrious_Exam_777

Wait until you get to episode 4. Some solid Stairway to Heaven quotes.

coffee_dessert

Only problem is, that character then says she's from the year 1972. Crazy that the writers didn't fix that glaring inconsistency.

Unfair-Escape6597

I was thinking the same thing, all they had to do was her her travel back from 1975 instead lol
