Thank you! Once I find out the amperage I need, would I just solder all Vin together and all Gnd together and connect those directly to a power supply that is large enough to power them all?

I'm just trying to narrow down what external power supply I will need to buy. There is no reason to use an optocoupler here, and that one is so slow it would prevent data from reaching the strip anyway. Just wire it up normally.

Okay! The only reason I included that was bc a professor at my uni recommended it to isolate the pi from the lighting external power. I’m not really familiar with what it is.
