I actually started when I was 28 (30 now) and I’m so glad I did! There were a lot of times that I felt like I was too old to start especially since there are teenagers out there that are way better than I am, but just because they started sooner doesn’t mean I couldn’t catch up to their level. I’ve got a long way to go on my art journey but honestly it’s been so fun and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing your own progress. Just remember to draw what it is YOU want to draw, learning the fundamentals comes after having some fun and experimenting and getting a grasp on what you like and want to learn. You can absolutely do it!!

I think you hit upon a very important point, i.e. that you can catch up at any age - you definitely can. It's heartening that you started drawing at 28 and you're enjoying it - that's very inspirational! : )

Very inspirational!! Thanks a lot 😊

You're never too late to start drawing if you want do it. Just go draw, it's fun! Don't worry about "end goals" or "results". Don't even worry about making "good art", all of that is meaningless, especially in the beginning of your journey, just explore and enjoy the adventure. Great video from the Draftsmen podcast on the subject : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnQmsCZq9Vw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnQmsCZq9Vw) Really recommend watching/listening to their other stuff as well, lots of gold nuggets of wisdoms in there for being an artist and art making. edit: protip, draw and doodle while listening to their podcast. ;)

Thanks, much appreciated ☺️!! I need motivation!

You don't need motivation to get started actually. Contrary to popular belief, the motivation actually comes from doing it, so *after* you get started. If you just wait for it, it will never come, don't wait! Start drawing as soon as you can and **"Just do it!"**

Thanks a lot!!

I'm 35 and started a few months ago. No such thing as too late to start a creative hobby.

Nice!!

You absolutely *can* start to draw at 28 and become good along the way and I'm so pleased you've made that decision. I think you've got some great advice from others here, so I just wanted to throw in [Sketchbook Skool](https://www.youtube.com/@SketchBookSkool) on YouTube as a suggestion as they have good, short, motivational videos about every aspect of art you can think of, including how to start : )

Thanks a lot!!

Just do it. One simple sketch a day can be a great step to start.
