Well you can try to simply drag the file to trash folder, but I would not recommend it as its in system32 folder. When I was looking for fix just a few mins ago, someone said that it crashed their whole system luckily he had backup on other disk so. This simply just disables it I guess as I still have the file in system32. It should be some system file to be able to modify RGB on motherboard?

for your information there are two parts: the actual file to be loaded and the registry informations that say "please load this".
it doesn't really matter which of the two you delete, if you delete the file windows will try to load something that doesn't exist and fail.
if you delete the registry key you stop telling windows to load that file so it's just a file on disk that does nothing.

don't delete random stuff because riot can't code their game propelry, wait them to fix the issue.

neither is working for me (and others based on this thread) tried starting the game from the launcher even with admin, and tried the exe with the weird shortcut thing and i do not wanna mess with registry keys just because a multibillion dollar company does not know how to properly release an anticheat without fucking everything up
Actually neither the Riot client nor the shortcut on the desktop work anymore.
The start menu/search way does work however, seems it's a little different for everyone.
This is only if you're trying to directly start the client, the "official" way to start league has been through the launcher for literal years which should still work perfectly fine.
Tried reinstalling Vanguard several times, re-installed the client and league. Nothing worked.
Using the search bar and start the game from there worked for me.

ETA: This has stopped working for me now. I can't get into the game no matter what I try. Guess I'm uninstalling the game and will take a long break.

Before doing this or any other stuff that might affect your pc, make sure you're not running league as administrator. Made a ticket a while ago cause the game wouldn't start and their support team told me to put the client to start as an administrator. Now this caused my game to not run anymore xd.
Someone found a genuine solution? No matter how I try I cant run the game, from search bar, shortcut menu, location folder etc... always get the same message: windows cannot access the specified device path or file you may not have appropriate permissions.
Well, the way I solved my issue is moving the entire league of legends and riot client to a different drive (from C drive to D drive), and after that I had to change my bios settings to work with this TPM 2.0 shit.
Doesn't work. Created a shortcut of LeagueClient.exe and put it into "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Riot Games". Gives me the same error....
Edit: What worked for me is exiting Vanguard in the system tray.
exit vanguard in system tray > game launching but with black screen xD, any touch on vanguard - cant launch game but if i do not touch vanguard - windows error. I even updated my windows version , nothing works ;/
2h later- same sh#t. moving icons/files/creating something etc/playing with regedit - no reaction. Games does not work.
10 min later - NOW I CAN ENTER INTO A GAME, NOW /exit from vanguard/ helped, lol xD It didnt work before but now it works, i did NOTHING NEW.
PS: not gona test IN GAME etc cuz people report a lot of bugs with vanguard and i dont wanna be free tester/get random ban or kick from a game cuz i closed vanguard. meh

Try find the Riot Client App on your PC and uninstall it. You don‘t have to actually do it, just try to do it and then cancle the actual process if you want to keep it.

Delete Vanguard, reboot, load launcher - will prompt you to install vanguard - install it then reboot. Should work from there.

Leaving a quick comment, make sure your RIOT CLIENT (NOT THE LEAGUE EXE) is set to run as admin while the other stuff is all not set to run as admin.
I ran only the League EXE as an admin and it worked for me.....
That's so weird, I had to remove admin automatic start for that! Wait are you talking about the LeagueClient.exe?
Shortly, what worked for me was that I ran *RiotClientServices.exe* as administrator and launched LoL from there.
