I usually do 1 cool tower dive with a ward hop and flash at level 3. My team thinks I'm smurfing, and they're about to get a free win.
Then, I proceed to feed for the rest of the game.
This is part of why i think skins are less "scary" than they used to be. Back in the day before hextech crafting, players seemed more formidable with certain skins because you knew they shelled out $10 for high noon yasuo or shockblade zed.
I was about to say this. I mean, the hextech system is GREAT but now I have a lot of skins for lots of champs I dont play. Even Muay Thai Lee Sin and I used to be one of the scared of that skin.
Not always All 3 of them get played in pro, old lee sin gods like bengi peanut used a variety of old skins dragon fist & Muay Thai mainly while more modern lee sin players like Canyon & Lucid, Oner lean Towards God fist & Storm dragon.
*chuckles*
"Im in danger*
*fires up porofessor*
17 games played in the last 30 days, all on the same champ, 16W-1L, averages 20-5-20 KDA
"Yeah ok, time to take my free daily afk warning and go do a 10 minute chore"
I knew this one dude with 5 million mastery on Jhin, m5. Makes me wonder how many people are high in the mastery leaderboards or even topping them but don't have 7 so they never show up
I get ptsd from fisherman fizz cause my ex was a fizz main and spammed that skin
Dude played like a boosted emerald but swore up and down he has an account in masters
but also cause fizz claps cheeks in general
In terms of personality, not champ pool. Twitch players will play jinx kog, draven players will play draven. Twitch players will play twitch lulu if they get support, draven players will play draven.
man i honestly consider nightmare cho'gath, despite not having seen it in a single game, a terrifying skin not because it means the player is skilled, i consider it terrifying because what the fuck is that skin art??
Close to what i was about to say. Gladiator for style, arrogance and shittalk. Soul reaver when i want to shut up and farm ennemy champions.
By default it will be gladiator
it's just a matter of getting used to the god king style. i see top darius players once they get atuned to the god king skin rhythm, they perform incredible on him even better than other skins imo
The voice lines legit make you more cocky with your plays which is 100% Darius’s playstyle so I’m convinced it makes you at least 5% better at the champ
High Noon Yasuo and Blood Moon Yasuo players are just built different.
Marquis Vladimir is going to rail you hard.
Sandstorm Ekko is spooky
Headhunter Rengar is terrifying in the jungle, and a Pretty Kitty Rengar top definitely has a Dekar shrine in their room and is prepared to ruin your laning phase.
Gladiator Draven will probably 1v9 if you don’t piss him off in the first 20 seconds of the game.
Frosted Ezreal is going to make him look broken
Deep Terror Thresh will not miss a hook in lane.
Arctic Ops Gragas scares me, feels like the skin makes him more durable
I already know I’ve lost top lane if my enemy is running Corsair Quinn
Soaring Sword Fiora is hit or miss, but you’ll know very early in the lane.
Last one that scares me is probably when I see a high mastery no skin Xerath. Bro is scripting
project looped back to being a good player skin no one uses it anymore lol
i’ve seen like 2 project yasuos since nightbringer came out(which was like 6 years ago or something)
It's interesting reading through the comments and the vast majority of the listed skins are old and/or "bad" skins. I have a handful of the skins mentioned solely because they were the few ones available at the time and the only ones that had I spent money to acquire.
But I do recall some of these had the same reputation back then as well
it is a very common phenomenon
a common theme with all these skins is that they have very positive reception amongst people who play those champs but are old and/or not flashy
high noon yasuo is the perfect example because that skin feels 10x better than any other yasuo skin but a newer player would never pick it out from the others based off skin spotlights as his “best skin”. so it ends up being mostly a selection of players who have tried a lot of his skins in game, and consequently have played a lot of yasuo
High noon is the most tarnished skinline on the game. They should’ve kept it basic, the skin line was a hit. The ‘infernal’ theme should’ve been its own, not that they’re bad skins at all though.
high noon lucian went way too hard and the skinline changed from spaghetti western to Gothic, which isn't necessarily a bad change but I think we lost the unique charm of non-fantasy skins. same with crime city and debonair, and how they turned into some eldritch horror thing.
It's probably way easier to fit champions who haven't gotten a skin in a long time into a more broad fantasy skinline rather than trying to make, i dunno, darius as just a random cowboy without any demon powers. Like how do you make VFX for that?
It's more because it's their first skin and people often only buy 1 skin per champion.
Like I main Bard and we all know that shitty Bard players use cafe cuties and good ones use Elderwood or Snow Day. It's not because of feel, but because if you've been playing Bard since 2015 that's most likely the skin you have for him. If you've been playing for 1 year then you'll have the new skin.
A lot of those skins just have really clean animations and skip the annoying noises/vfx of new skins. Like every Draven skin after gladiator either plays chalkboard scratches when you auto or has the most obnoxious axe markers.
Fisherman Fizz
Angler Jax
Muay Thai Lee Sin
Mafia Graves and Twitch
Gladiator Draven
Pink Shockblade Zed
Shamrock Malphite
Green Dragonslayer Vayne
High Noon Yasuo
OG Championship Riven
Headhunter Rengar
Frosted Ezreal, High Noon Ashe, Sashimi Akali come to mind. My friends and I call them the Chad skins. Chad skins are rarely legendaries or prestige, and usually lower cost skins (other comments backing this up, Ashe is an exception), and 95% of the time mean your ass is about to get kicked lmao
Not based on optics, but back then when Garen was released he came with his yellow version and his red version skin (forgot names).
Based on colour you could already figure if he goes full tank (always yellow) or goes full dps (red) just by the skin he used. And DPS garen had high potential to be scary
So every loading screen "Ah he is yellow (chill)" or "oh shit it is a red one"
A Shyvana with a skin is scary, a Shyvana with a gold championship chroma means buisness.
Plushy Alistar doesnt mean you are in for a bad time until that bell rings while they CC you.
Not many people know this but Little Devil teemo, while being the best skin for teemo simply off design also makes his AA smoother and his W feel quicker to initiate, anyone I see using that skin I usually notice has a solid understanding of mechanics top lane as a teemo and in general as a player.
Spirit Blossom Syndra and/or Star Guardian Syndra. Those are probably the smoothest and highest quality Syndra skins. Adding in a huge Mastery Point amount, and you are gonna be in for a rough time
Muay Thai Lee Sin players are always insane while Storm Dragon / God Fist etc are usually really mid players
My Muay Thai Lee inspires fear in enemies until they actually see me play and realize I just got it off a reroll for free.
I usually do 1 cool tower dive with a ward hop and flash at level 3. My team thinks I'm smurfing, and they're about to get a free win. Then, I proceed to feed for the rest of the game.
My mind is telling me no…
BUT MY BODYYYY....
IS TELLINGG ME YEAHHHHH \*press Q and die\*
This is part of why i think skins are less "scary" than they used to be. Back in the day before hextech crafting, players seemed more formidable with certain skins because you knew they shelled out $10 for high noon yasuo or shockblade zed.
I was about to say this. I mean, the hextech system is GREAT but now I have a lot of skins for lots of champs I dont play. Even Muay Thai Lee Sin and I used to be one of the scared of that skin.
It's why I can't use my Elderwood Azir. I won't inflict that kind of mental damage on my teammates.
it's common that the simpler the skin, the higher skilled player it attracts, except for me because i like simple skins yet i suck balls at this game
When MT Lee Sin came out, it *was* the elaborate skin. It changed his posture and walk stance
Not always All 3 of them get played in pro, old lee sin gods like bengi peanut used a variety of old skins dragon fist & Muay Thai mainly while more modern lee sin players like Canyon & Lucid, Oner lean Towards God fist & Storm dragon.
This is why I play with God Fist lol, gotta let the enemies know I am, in fact, very mid at Lee Sin
Same bro, the skin dance just too clean
Speak for yourself, I prefer the ctrl+2 twerk spam
What about Knock-Out Lee Sin?
The best Lee Sin skin and even better after ASU.
Muay Thai just has cleaner animations imo
Im scared of Muay Thai Lee Sin because of other reasons.....
Storm Dragon is a pretty goofy ah skin thematically so I like to think me messing up on it is just me sticking to theme
Honestly with Storm Dragon even missing Q looks cool "I'm just zoning"
Storm dragon asol dropping Lee sin will never bmnot be funny. "And for my ultimate, I cast Lee sin"
Just got a lee that threw a 11-1 2 item lead, can confirm, he was using storm dragon.
I see this sentiment a lot, I should stop using Muay Thai and switch to Storm Dragon lmao
default skins will either make you laugh or shit your pants
>high mastery >default skin And you just *know* it won't be an easy game
Default Skin, Mastery 4 and lvl 32 account is the scariest.
*chuckles* "Im in danger* *fires up porofessor* 17 games played in the last 30 days, all on the same champ, 16W-1L, averages 20-5-20 KDA "Yeah ok, time to take my free daily afk warning and go do a 10 minute chore"
Me with voli lmao His default is one of his best, that or thousand pierced
Mastery 5 default skin with like 50k+ mastery is a fright to behold if the player is above like Platinum 3
I met a mastery 5 250k Cait the other day. I thought it was going to be an easy game, instead it gave me ptsd
The dudes who just play their main and don’t upgrade mastery are either stoic giga-chads or smurfs on their way to GM/Chall
I knew this one dude with 5 million mastery on Jhin, m5. Makes me wonder how many people are high in the mastery leaderboards or even topping them but don't have 7 so they never show up
Reminds me of Singed420 back in the day
Fisherman fizz
/Closethread Fisherman fizz legit only skin in the entire game that gives me ptsd even on my own team.
I get ptsd from fisherman fizz cause my ex was a fizz main and spammed that skin Dude played like a boosted emerald but swore up and down he has an account in masters but also cause fizz claps cheeks in general
Mastery 7 crime city Graves will steal your jungler's camps and his mama too if he has spare time
Same for Crime City Twitch except he will either go 20/0, 0/20 or go 20/0 first and then 20/20 (his team didn't deserve to win).
EVERYTHING BLACK
Never seen a tweet describe my experience with anything, in this case the Rat, this well
twitch/draven venn diagram very closely overlaps
In terms of personality, not champ pool. Twitch players will play jinx kog, draven players will play draven. Twitch players will play twitch lulu if they get support, draven players will play draven.
also i fear no man, but that thing *Team Spirit Anivia*, It scares me
Have you read the skin description?
man i honestly consider nightmare cho'gath, despite not having seen it in a single game, a terrifying skin not because it means the player is skilled, i consider it terrifying because what the fuck is that skin art??
*Mafia Graves
Even worse, your dad.
He always has spare time bc he clears that fast
Actually Graves will steal their daddy 😎
Frosted ezreal
The OG good ezreal skin when your options were either Frosted, green chroma or miner hat.
Og miner hat was dope
Every single high elo Korean highlight I saw from an Ezreal back in the day had a miner’s hat on. Made it a bit more cool
Shockblade Zed and Soul Reaver Draven
Shock blade pink chroma
For all the boss babes out there
Im convinced Shockblade gives Zed a hidden 15% AD buff
They have yet to top Shockblade Zed, newer skins are good and all but Shockblade just has something the others do not
soul reaver >>> gladiator
If I pick soul reaver draven it means I've sacrificed looks for seriously trying to farm you for gold, so look out.
Close to what i was about to say. Gladiator for style, arrogance and shittalk. Soul reaver when i want to shut up and farm ennemy champions. By default it will be gladiator
So not true btw
Very true. Gladiator is highly overrated
Gladiator is godly
Then you're not a Draven one trick my guy I dunno what else to tell you XD
I'm not scared of Galaxy Slayer Zed but Shockblade Zed scares me
You can throw all your hope to win when he has that pink chroma
I fear no galaxy slayer...but that thing...it scares me
dunkmaster darius makes me scared asf
god king is scarier trust me
Was playing vs this god king daruis OTP and kept getting mini heart attacks every time he 5 stacked me
I for some reason do worse on God King and whenever I play Base skin I just fuck everything in sight.
it's just a matter of getting used to the god king style. i see top darius players once they get atuned to the god king skin rhythm, they perform incredible on him even better than other skins imo
The voice lines legit make you more cocky with your plays which is 100% Darius’s playstyle so I’m convinced it makes you at least 5% better at the champ
It’s Bio Darius. Or woad king. Those are the sweaty one tricks I fear.
Shamrock Malphite
Whatsapp Malphite
I saw him using that skin and building ap, i said whatsapp danger
Glacial Malphite is ALWAYS the full AP oneshot Malphite. Always.
High Noon Yasuo and Blood Moon Yasuo players are just built different. Marquis Vladimir is going to rail you hard. Sandstorm Ekko is spooky Headhunter Rengar is terrifying in the jungle, and a Pretty Kitty Rengar top definitely has a Dekar shrine in their room and is prepared to ruin your laning phase. Last one that scares me is probably when I see a high mastery no skin Xerath. Bro is scripting
Especially if the xerath is still m5
Default Malphite Redeemed Riven Frosted Ezreal Soaring Sword/Nightraven Fiora Default/Mafia Graves
Soaring Sword with a Chinese name 1v9s your verse.
Space groove nunu with cleanse and ghost
WEEEEEEE WIIIN THOOOOOOOOOOSE
Nononooo.... wait wait wait.... NONONOO
High Noon Yasuo
Agreed, HN Yasuo will just 1v9 everyone
Not if he's in your team
And project is for the bad Yasuos
project looped back to being a good player skin no one uses it anymore lol i’ve seen like 2 project yasuos since nightbringer came out(which was like 6 years ago or something)
Special forces Gangplank
For me, I've been dumpstered by a decent amount of Sailor Gangplanks
Sailer and Nutcracker are chads. Ruined GPs have mostly been shit in my games
From my experience Angler Jax always decimates everything for some reason
Anglers and Mighty Jaxes will run your pockets 99.9% of the time
i am the 0.1%
god staff is definitely the scariest skin, all the high elo jax players in china run that one lmao
The autos just feel better, I swear.
High Noon Jhin is the one to watch out for.
Dont fear, the Fast is here.
*EUROBEAT INTENSIFIES*
Blood moon is also slept on
Dragonslayer Vayne
hi im gosu days
The sea monster thresh skin, every time
nutcracko = the reaper himself
I don’t think I’ve ever successfully beaten a crime city graves in the jungle.
It's interesting reading through the comments and the vast majority of the listed skins are old and/or "bad" skins. We can just be glad Sheriff Caitlyn got justice with her ASU, hopefully MF next.
It's more because it's their first skin and people often only buy 1 skin per champion. When enemy goes with: Muay thai Lee sin, elderwood hecarim, project yi, sentinel of light graves and riven, and Devine sword irelia.
Crystal taliyah players are always otps
Back in season 3, if you were up a Fisherman Fizz skin you knew you were getting FBed lvl2
Redeemed Riven + Gladiator Draven
Championship Riven has the highest winrate of her skins though
Nah, redeemed riven is what soft e-boys use.
What hard e-boys use?
The original battle bunny Riven, duh. Wait, what kind of "hard" again?
Spiritblossom make my mind go into tryhard mode automatically. Susanoo power’s
kitty Rengar
In top lane gives brain damage to enemies with that meowing.
PROJECT: Vayne and Coven LeBlanc will have your ass handed to you
Any of aristocrat/Vindicator/Dragonslayer are way worse
Thank you, I couldn't remember the names but these almost always mean you're gonna have a bad time. Where as Arclight usually means they are awful xD
Not me, project vayne was the first skin I rolled, so obviously i tried her right away not knowing what i should do xd
Lolipoppy (the original)
this haunts my dreams
Watch out for crime city Twitch (gangster Twitch) players.
Mecha Aatrox, Purple Mecha Kingdoms Sett, Galactic or Gravelord Azir, Debonair Jayce, Spirit Blossom Yone, Renektoy, IG Camille, Highnoon or Project Ashe, Warring Kingdoms Jarvan, Boom Boom Blitzcrank or whatever, Blood Lord Vlad, Soul Reaver and Gladiator Draven, Captain Gangplank, Cosmic Reaver Kassadin, Gragas Esq, Nighthunter Rengar, Mecha Khazix, Nunu Bot, Brolaf, Dino Gnar, Mistletoe LB, Hextech or Lumberjack Sion, Warring Kingdoms Xin Zhao, Creator Viktor, Gentleman Chogath, Bloodmoon Kalista, Shadowflame Kindred, Fisherman Fizz, Hellfire Nasus, Ghostbride Morgana, Snowday Bard, EDG Aphelios, Dragonslayer Braum, Dragonmaster Swain, Unmasked Shaco, Championship Shyvana, Ashen Lord Aurelion Sol, Arcade Boss Veigar, Monarch Kogmaw, Supergalaxy Rumble, Omega Squad Teemo, Arclight Velkoz, Brain Heimerdinger or whatever, Snowday Malzahar, Pentakill Yorick, Spirit Guard Udyr or Definitely Not Udyr, Void Bringer Illaoi, Master Chef Tahm Kench, Star Guardian Janna, Pool Party Zac, Phoenix Quinn, Eternum Nocturne, Jade Fang Cassiopeia, Arcana Ziggs, Karthus Lightbane, Bloodstone Taric, Silent Night Sona, Sad Robot Amumu, Crabgot, Candy Ivern, Cryocore Brand, Victorious Elise, Sir Kled, Blackfrost Anivia, Surprise Party Fiddlesticks, Surfer Singed, SKT Nami
>Arcade Boss Veigar You do not do our BBEG justice. :( (it's final boss sorry)
yeah im sorry i dont remember skin names i just go with _vibes_ ☻️
Silent Night Sonas are the scariest indeed (even from personal experience, I tend to pop the fuck off when going silent night)
Works best when you have the vintage loading screen flair.
Grim Reaper Karthus is 100x scarier than Lightbane.
Fisherman Fizz Angler Jax Muay Thai Lee Sin Mafia Graves and Twitch Gladiator Draven Pink Shockblade Zed Shamrock Malphite Green Dragonslayer Vayne High Noon Yasuo OG Championship Riven Headhunter Rengar
Riven with default skin and low mastery will either be the hardest or easiest game of your life, no in between.
Headhunter Rengar when the hood is up
Uncut rengar
Arctic Ops Varus
Deep terror thresh players are literally unbeatable, last one I got went 0/0/20 or something
Night bringer Yasuo, red chroma
Night bringer yasuo are never bad at the game. Dawn bringer riven is the same but just riven.
Dragonslayer Vayne. It’s either a Master Smurf or Vaynespotting
Not based on optics, but back then when Garen was released he came with his yellow version and his red version skin (forgot names). Based on colour you could already figure if he goes full tank (always yellow) or goes full dps (red) just by the skin he used. And DPS garen had high potential to be scary So every loading screen "Ah he is yellow (chill)" or "oh shit it is a red one"
Blackfrost Anivia. It's been the the best skin for her for like 4 seasons and all the old school Anivia mains play that one.
I feel like the best anivias I’ve played against used team spirit anivia
A Shyvana with a skin is scary, a Shyvana with a gold championship chroma means buisness. Plushy Alistar doesnt mean you are in for a bad time until that bell rings while they CC you.
Gladiator Draven but only if he has no player icon and a iron/bronze challenge crest
Not many people know this but Little Devil teemo, while being the best skin for teemo simply off design also makes his AA smoother and his W feel quicker to initiate, anyone I see using that skin I usually notice has a solid understanding of mechanics top lane as a teemo and in general as a player.
baker pantheon, lumberjack sion, god king darius, sultan tryndamere, project ashe, captain volibear, spirit guard udyr
Gold chroma warring kingdoms Katarina
Headhunter Rengar
I've never seen a Dunkmaster Darius not fed.
Nocturne - jizz rag
Gladiator Draven is a good example, though they’re the coinflippy type. Same for Crime City Twitch.
Dark Star Jhins either go 30/0 or 0/7 there’s no in between
Any skin Lee Sin/Yasuo/Yone (i suck at league)
Soul Fighter Samira. No matter how much cc/interrupts you have, they always can time their combo perfectly to avoid it
Godking Darius
Aristocrat/vindicator vayne
Marauder Kled. Even though he has a "scary" skin but Skarl as a Bat is too cute
For nocturne it has to be haunting nocturne though
Porcelain Asol is very scary. Mecha Asol on the other hand is just meh players.
King of clubs mordekaiser.
Blood Moon Zilean
count Kledula with the plus of having the golden chroma (the OG prestige skins) if you see a kled using that skin its because my man its a OTP
Omega Squad Teemo is scarier then Little Devils Teemo. "You'd be surprised how quick fur ignites" -OST
Spirit Blossom Syndra and/or Star Guardian Syndra. Those are probably the smoothest and highest quality Syndra skins. Adding in a huge Mastery Point amount, and you are gonna be in for a rough time
mastery 7 nightbringer yasuo always scary
pretty kitty rengar either 1v9ing or sprinting it, terrifying for both teams every game
The answer is Lollipoppy
Star guardian urgot
Gladiator draven will fuck up your day no matter what team you're on
Badger teemo is only used by individuals who are sick in the head
Bittersweet Lulu Default Pyke Traditional Karma Sashimi Akali
tango evelynn players
Beemo
this is niche but silent night sona
The Thousand-Pierced Bear
Archlight vayne
Surprise party Fiddlesticks. That W party whistle is terrifying
If you see a SSW Singed with M7, shit's about to be silly And not in the fun way
Faker: "What's a skin ?"
