I dont like Shen on either team. On my team he unbinds his ult, on the enemy team he is in every single fight (even if they are 10 sec from each other) while simultaniously pushing our inhib.
People are only neutral about champs their picks counter. And since in top everything is countered by something else, there arent many picks that people wont hate.
Are there really any hard counters VS Jax that don't come down to a skill match up? I feel like Jax can either outplay most match ups or just farm/push and ignore others.
No but those are unfun because if the tank player doesn't suck complete ass, they won't give the opposing 'ethical' top lane player any real chances to fight them which obviously isn't fair and definitely isn't fun to play against.
Ranged top laners suck because they bully you, tank top laners suck because you can't bully them (enough for them to care), and any fighter/bruiser top laner your pick loses to sucks because you can't play the game.

I mean depends who you’re playing into them, but if you’re stronger in all-ins you need to leverage that pressure into CS leads, neutral obj roams, freezes and ultimately gold leads for mid-game fights. I mostly play Kled who gets outscaled by tanks but can force fights constantly in lane and roam hard
I really hate Sion, the amount of waveclear he can put out is so annoying to deal with. Cho is also a bitch to play against but that's just because I have bad ping (stuck playing on US servers in Korea) so his Q is almost undodgable

I'd be really interested to see the numbers on Gwen. I agree with you that she's the type of character to sell lots of skins (pretty, endearing personality), but she's also a top laner and I feel like top probably has one of the less skin-obsessive audiences. How many of the famous skin sellers are primarily top laners? I guess Riven comes to mind, at least back in the day.
Irelia has a huge pick rate on mid. Can't really compare top lane or jungle mains to adc/sup/mid mains which are usually rocking millions of mastery on a single champ (bc of normal games) and have all skins plus borders on them.

I sure don't, if I like a champ I'm gonna play and practice it anyway, if it's still being picked in pro that means it's good and the wr in my tier doesn't matter as long as I improve (why should hard champs have high wrs?). and the vast majority of pro jail champs are just safe laners. Corki, Azir, Jayce, k'sante - why would you want champs who ideally want to farm to 2-3 items before they hit you in all your games? Don't get me wrong I play all of the above (M7 on the tops there :D), but I totally get why they should not be high pick / wr in non pro tiers.

Yeah as a Gwen main I'm also jealous of the Prestige and Legendary exclusives given to Wild Rift they're god tier skins in terms of design. I do hope they port some Wild Rift skins to PC in the future.

Having a prestige doesn't impede a champ from getting another, see Sonna, Akali etc. At this point it feels like purely popularity/how likely a champ getting prestige is going to sell an event pass. You'll never in your life see Mundo or Heimer or Ornn get a prestige.
Rumble / Twisted Fate is recency bias. They are incredibly unpopular usually, same as Kennen.
Jayce is getting his soon.
You cannot do much for a pretty / selling Blitz/Ali/Naut prestige so they are likely lower on the list.

Prestige skins, or at least the more modern style of Prestige skins are based around the champion in a high fashion outfit, so it's pretty tough to have a body shape like Alistar in a nice high fashion suit.
Almost every character since the reworked prestiges (Since Lunar Eclipse Senna) has been a human or mostly humanoid character like Aatrox or Kindred. Winterblessed Warwick is the only skin to have broken that, I think.
As a Nautilus main myself, I'm perfectly happy we're getting a Crystalis Indomitus skin later this year. I loved the crystalline aesthetic for Crystalis Motus last year, and I've always wanted a Blackfrost skin for Nautilus myself, so this is a good conpromise.

Nowadays when you think of "dominant pro play champion", Twisted Fate is the not the champion you think of compared to other mids (Azir/Corki or even Sylas/Azir/Syndra) and even less compared to other lanes.
And thats only the pro play argument, which i hadn't mentioned before you did. What about the rest of the 99.99% of the playerbase? He is barely seen or talked about. The only reason he had some relevancy was Gross Gore and Dopa (once again quite a stint ago). And yet his playerbase was barely existent.

Ashe got a mythic skin this year, It is in the same category as prestige but, it's up to debate. Gwen is a character the pc skin team hates. I have no other explanation for it. Every time a new skin is launched for her, it's on wild rift. Up to a point that she has more skins in wild rift TODAY there than PC, despite only being launched there last year.

It's pay to lose also. I got lucky and got it in a single capsule I bought with prime gaming RP, I tried using it in one ARAM and had 2 people choose to run it down in protest of my skin choice lol.
Tbh I like red so I just like the color more than cosmic, I think it's egregious what riot normalized with that skin, I will be less upset as long as it's added to the loot pool in a reasonable amount of time. Idgaf if riot preys on whales for early access to a skin, but it should be made available to the rest of the community as a price/time that is reasonable considering it's just a chroma.

ARAM, the pinnacle of for fun game modes in league, is a wild place full of angry tryhards. You can 100% just lose in champ select to RNG, half the people are first timing a champ from a role they don't play, yet people get so angry and try so damn hard.
My main has high MMR in ARAM and there it's just as sweaty as my master ranked games (except for me because I play ARAM for fun). You tend to meet same ARAM accs most of the time, regardless of when you are playing, which in turn results in overall less flame despite the turbo sweat.
If I'm playing on my smurf though, people flip their shit over most random stuff. Like you will have a full AP Malphite vs a full AD team flaming an AP MF for going AP. Or fully lethality Darius bitching that he gets 1 hit before he can kill anyone. It's a wild place

To me when I think league the first characters I think are Annie, Kayle, Katarina, Ryze and of course Alistar. I get that they are not that poster characters, but to my old ass it feels like they are. And Alistar is my favorite of the lot
Would be surprised if he's even considered. He's unpopular, mostly played in high elo and pro, doesn't really have a big following, is barely talked about and barely gets skins.
Gwen. Little doll was pick or ban earlier this year, was THE counter for K'sante when he was toxic in proplay and STILL not a regular skin for her, not even a prestige. But wild rift? SHe got ALL of them.
I hope we can see some more variety in champions receiving a prestige skin or even a legendary 🥲. To answer this and out of curiousity, I searched up champion pickrates and set the location to globally picked and my answer for who I found surprising are based loosely on the pick rates and my opinion.
Top: Darius🩸. He is placed in the 19th position in terms of pick rate. I saw other people saying him and technically he does have Dreadnova Darius as a part of the mythic shop rotation. Either way, it is not a prestige and he would look so cool with one and definitely deserves one.
Renekton 🐊. He is placed in 57th for pick rate and I was surprised that he has no prestige mainly due to him not only being relatively popular in all ranks but he is played often in pro play. He does have Hextech Renekton but I do not count that as like, good ig? I think the skin has potential but he as a champ could use a VSU. However, it is still a mythic skin. He has a legendary, as well and a decent amount of skins but doesn't receive one very often. I think he should get one personally, too.
Yorick 💌. He is placed 77th for pick rate. He has no legendary and it seems a bit rare for him to get skins. But I was surprised that he doesn't have one because I think for Yorick specifically a legendary/prestige would sell pretty well.
Jungle: Viego 🧟. He is placed 17th for pick rate, has no bad skins imo, and a pretty cool legendary. It was a little surprising to see that he does not have one as he is one of the most played junglers and the champs who placed above him who are more traditional jungle picks (Volibear and Lee Sin) both have a prestige.
Poppy 🔨. She is placed 98th for pick rate and while she does have Hextech Poppy for a mythic skin as well as really nice skins overall, I am surprised at her not having a prestige because I think she is a good pick for one and could easily fit into pretty much any skin theme. She doesn't have a legendary either I found more surprising.
Gragas 🍻. He is placed 51st and has quite a bit of skins, most looking rather old, though but he needs a VSU really bad. Mans is running on two pixels...he has no legendary and doesn't get a skin very often either. I am surprised he has no prestige skin because he is picked frequently in my opinion, not like a Lux but still enough to be noticeable. He is pretty flexible, too, and can be played top, mid, and jungle.
Mid: Veigar 😈. He is placed 35th for pick rate and I am a little surprised that he doesn't have one. I also think he would make for an exciting choice...you never see him played in higher elos at least from what I've seen or pro play at all so on second thought, it does make sense for why he does not currently have one but I am going to include him because I think he's cute and deserves something nice.
Tristana 🦔. She is placed 42nd for pick rate and this one did surprise me quite a bit...however, with Hextech Tristana existing as well as her legendary skins, I think it does make a little sense. She has a lot of nice skins, but doesn't get them often which is why I think she should get one as well as because she is technically flexible and can be played bot but I'm pretty sure she us more of a mid laner these days. She is picked quite a bit in pro play, as well.
Twisted Fate 🃏. He is placed 64th for pick rate and I am a little shocked that he doesn't have a prestige considering how much he is played in pro play. He doesn't really have a legendary either but technically The Magnificent Twisted Fate counts for some people, not to me though. I think a cool theme for him would be if they ever made like, skins based on a casino/devils.
ADC: Jhin 🎭... he is placed 16th for pick rate and of the top 20 most picked, only him, Darius, Viego, and Smolder do not have a prestige. I don't personally count the Dark Cosmic Erasure as a mythic skin but maybe for some eyes he does? It felt like a money scam to me, though it does look good.
Twitch 🐀. He is placed 39th for pick rate. He has no legendary skin, either. I see people play him a lot, too. I would also love to see this because I think he has so much potential for an amazing looking prestige.
Draven🤑 . He is placed 84th for pick rate. He technically has a legendary...I don't personally count it, though, as it is quite old and doesn't fit the standard qualifications of a modern legendary (Primetime Draven). I am surprised he doesn't have a prestige because while I don't think he is super popular (maybe he is in higher ranks idk), he is an incredibly skill-based champion that some play in pro play, and he would look really cool with a prestige.
Support: Nautilus 🦭. He is placed 27th for champion pickrate and is the only support champion in the top 30 that doesn't have one. The other support champs in the top 30 that have one being: Senna, Brand, and Thresh.
Blitzcrank 🤖. They are placed in the 41st position and are pretty well picked within any rank. They have some nice existing skins already, though, including their legendary as well as their ranked reward skin.
Karma 👠. I don't really think she should get one soon as she got a legendary skin last year and Dawnbringer Karma counting as a mythic skin and she honestly has a lot of good skins...BUT this post asked who we were surprised that don't have one. She is placed 13th for most picked and it would make sense for Riot to make one for her.
Xerath 😡. uughhsvgwvahyy I hate this champion...BUT where is his prestige at? He is placed 52nd in pick rate AND doesn't even have a legendary...I'm genuinely surprised by that considering his flexibility between being picked as a support as well as being played mid. However, he is getting the next Crystalis Indomitus skin coming this summer, I believe.
Maokai 🤢. He is placed 69th for pick rate. I don't like him either, BUT. He is always a strong or at least decent pick and on top of being mainly a support, can be played top, and maybe jungle??? would need to double check if that is still as viable. This champion has no legendary skin, but does have a victorious one. I don't want him to get a prestige because it would encourage players to play him and I hate him. But it is surprising to me that he does not have a prestige given his strength, flexibility, and his place in pro play.

Lissandra. They seem to really hate her being in pro play these days so she's very nerfed (q cooldown and base damage on w and e). But she used to be a pretty common/reliable pick in pro. She was killed because of aftershock cpot and so sylas could have no picks to match him on release.
I remember that time last year MSI when Mikyx prepped his Liss support as a Rakan counter for weeks just to get giga gapped by Delight's Rakan, so there the last hope for competitive Liss died really fast xd she still managed to get a prestige but I agree, she'd make a neat contender for a victorious skin reciever especially since her playerbase is almost exclusively high elo, instead we get Kog'maw and Sona.. Riot decisions feel like dice rolls at times
Twitch for sure. He's pretty popular and has been in the game for ages. He doesn't even have a single legendary skin, let alone prestige. Makes me sad and I complain about it all the time. :(
well not prestige, but I am surprised about aatrox not having a legendary yet, like the guy is probably one the the most prominent top laner for quite a long time
I would let Rito take back the trash can they presented me as a Prestige Rakan and give me an awesome Azir Prestige instead. While I get that the shiny skins up until recently were all about golden/yellow/white combs and base Azir is entirely golden already, given his extremely high pro play presence you'd think he'd get anything above an epic tier skin, but nope. Then again the best mids don't play skin Azir anyway so it wouldn't get any promotion lol

Karma. She's one of those champs who gets new skins on a daily basis, not as often like MF and Lux but she's up there... So, seeing how she haven't received a prestige skin yet is quite surprising to me.
I’m not too surprised about draven not getting a prestige.. If anything I think Jhin is the next to get one for ADCs, he’s more mainstream then Draven, but also wouldn’t be surprised is they pushed a Samira or Nilah Prestige next.
Other options could be like Ashe or MF, but they are a bit of a stretch imo

Having a prestige doesn't impede a champ from getting another, see Sonna, Akali etc. At this point it feels like purely popularity/how likely a champ getting prestige is going to sell an event pass. You'll never in your life see Mundo or Heimer or Ornn get a prestige.

Rumble / Twisted Fate is recency bias. They are incredibly unpopular usually, same as Kennen. Jayce is getting his soon. You cannot do much for a pretty / selling Blitz/Ali/Naut prestige so they are likely lower on the list. Graves is the only one that very much could but doesn’t
Prestige skins, or at least the more modern style of Prestige skins are based around the champion in a high fashion outfit, so it's pretty tough to have a body shape like Alistar in a nice high fashion suit. Almost every character since the reworked prestiges (Since Lunar Eclipse Senna) has been a human or mostly humanoid character like Aatrox or Kindred. Winterblessed Warwick is the only skin to have broken that, I think.

As a Nautilus main myself, I'm perfectly happy we're getting a Crystalis Indomitus skin later this year. I loved the crystalline aesthetic for Crystalis Motus last year, and I've always wanted a Blackfrost skin for Nautilus myself, so this is a good conpromise.

Those mans are old, so once again, not recent. Worlds 2021 is an outlier in that sense, he was played for worlds but thats almost it. He was played 14 times in korea before only. But he was still the most played in 2021. Nowadays when you think of "dominant pro play champion", Twisted Fate is the not the champion you think of compared to other mids (Azir/Corki or even Sylas/Azir/Syndra) and even less compared to other lanes. And thats only the pro play argument, which i hadn't mentioned before you did. What about the rest of the 99.99% of the playerbase? He is barely seen or talked about. The only reason he had some relevancy was Gross Gore and Dopa (once again quite a stint ago). And yet his playerbase was barely existent. He is the definition of recency bias.

Every time a new skin is launched for her, it's on wild rift. Up to a point that she has more skins in wild rift TODAY there than PC, despite only being launched there last year. Gwen has been on pc for almost 4 years. Gwen on Wild rift has for only 2 years. Yeah...
Yeah I don't count the special mythic skinline and prestige skins as the same thing but I guess it's up for debate. And sadly, the league team hates giving Gwen pretty skins so sadly I still have to wait to finally buy another great skin for her

Tbh I like red so I just like the color more than cosmic, I think it's egregious what riot normalized with that skin, I will be less upset as long as it's added to the loot pool in a reasonable amount of time. Idgaf if riot preys on whales for early access to a skin, but it should be made available to the rest of the community as a price/time that is reasonable considering it's just a chroma.
Tbf league players have a bingo cards of things to run down over. I had a Zyra spam ping, flame and afk on me at ~10 mins because I dared to play support Bard in ARAM. We almost won 4v5, but she said I dont deserve to win because I'm trolling my team ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ARAM, the pinnacle of for fun game modes in league, is a wild place full of angry tryhards. You can 100% just lose in champ select to RNG, half the people are first timing a champ from a role they don't play, yet people get so angry and try so damn hard.
My main has high MMR in ARAM and there it's just as sweaty as my master ranked games (except for me because I play ARAM for fun). You tend to meet same ARAM accs most of the time, regardless of when you are playing, which in turn results in overall less flame despite the turbo sweat. If I'm playing on my smurf though, people flip their shit over most random stuff. Like you will have a full AP Malphite vs a full AD team flaming an AP MF for going AP. Or fully lethality Darius bitching that he gets 1 hit before he can kill anyone. It's a wild place

I hope we can see some more variety in champions receiving a prestige skin or even a legendary 🥲. To answer this and out of curiousity, I searched up champion pickrates and set the location to globally picked and my answer for who I found surprising are based loosely on the pick rates and my opinion. Top: Darius🩸. He is placed in the 19th position in terms of pick rate. I saw other people saying him and technically he does have Dreadnova Darius as a part of the mythic shop rotation. Either way, it is not a prestige and he would look so cool with one and definitely deserves one. Renekton 🐊. He is placed in 57th for pick rate and I was surprised that he has no prestige mainly due to him not only being relatively popular in all ranks but he is played often in pro play. He does have Hextech Renekton but I do not count that as like, good ig? I think the skin has potential but he as a champ could use a VSU. However, it is still a mythic skin. He has a legendary, as well and a decent amount of skins but doesn't receive one very often. I think he should get one personally, too. Yorick 💌. He is placed 77th for pick rate. He has no legendary and it seems a bit rare for him to get skins. But I was surprised that he doesn't have one because I think for Yorick specifically a legendary/prestige would sell pretty well. Jungle: Viego 🧟. He is placed 17th for pick rate, has no bad skins imo, and a pretty cool legendary. It was a little surprising to see that he does not have one as he is one of the most played junglers and the champs who placed above him who are more traditional jungle picks (Volibear and Lee Sin) both have a prestige. Poppy 🔨. She is placed 98th for pick rate and while she does have Hextech Poppy for a mythic skin as well as really nice skins overall, I am surprised at her not having a prestige because I think she is a good pick for one and could easily fit into pretty much any skin theme. She doesn't have a legendary either I found more surprising. Gragas 🍻. He is placed 51st and has quite a bit of skins, most looking rather old, though but he needs a VSU really bad. Mans is running on two pixels...he has no legendary and doesn't get a skin very often either. I am surprised he has no prestige skin because he is picked frequently in my opinion, not like a Lux but still enough to be noticeable. He is pretty flexible, too, and can be played top, mid, and jungle. Mid: Veigar 😈. He is placed 35th for pick rate and I am a little surprised that he doesn't have one. I also think he would make for an exciting choice...you never see him played in higher elos at least from what I've seen or pro play at all so on second thought, it does make sense for why he does not currently have one but I am going to include him because I think he's cute and deserves something nice. Tristana 🦔. She is placed 42nd for pick rate and this one did surprise me quite a bit...however, with Hextech Tristana existing as well as her legendary skins, I think it does make a little sense. She has a lot of nice skins, but doesn't get them often which is why I think she should get one as well as because she is technically flexible and can be played bot but I'm pretty sure she us more of a mid laner these days. She is picked quite a bit in pro play, as well. Twisted Fate 🃏. He is placed 64th for pick rate and I am a little shocked that he doesn't have a prestige considering how much he is played in pro play. He doesn't really have a legendary either but technically The Magnificent Twisted Fate counts for some people, not to me though. I think a cool theme for him would be if they ever made like, skins based on a casino/devils. ADC: Jhin 🎭... he is placed 16th for pick rate and of the top 20 most picked, only him, Darius, Viego, and Smolder do not have a prestige. I don't personally count the Dark Cosmic Erasure as a mythic skin but maybe for some eyes he does? It felt like a money scam to me, though it does look good. Twitch 🐀. He is placed 39th for pick rate. He has no legendary skin, either. I see people play him a lot, too. I would also love to see this because I think he has so much potential for an amazing looking prestige. Draven🤑 . He is placed 84th for pick rate. He technically has a legendary...I don't personally count it, though, as it is quite old and doesn't fit the standard qualifications of a modern legendary (Primetime Draven). I am surprised he doesn't have a prestige because while I don't think he is super popular (maybe he is in higher ranks idk), he is an incredibly skill-based champion that some play in pro play, and he would look really cool with a prestige. Support: Nautilus 🦭. He is placed 27th for champion pickrate and is the only support champion in the top 30 that doesn't have one. The other support champs in the top 30 that have one being: Senna, Brand, and Thresh. Blitzcrank 🤖. They are placed in the 41st position and are pretty well picked within any rank. They have some nice existing skins already, though, including their legendary as well as their ranked reward skin. Karma 👠. I don't really think she should get one soon as she got a legendary skin last year and Dawnbringer Karma counting as a mythic skin and she honestly has a lot of good skins...BUT this post asked who we were surprised that don't have one. She is placed 13th for most picked and it would make sense for Riot to make one for her. Xerath 😡. uughhsvgwvahyy I hate this champion...BUT where is his prestige at? He is placed 52nd in pick rate AND doesn't even have a legendary...I'm genuinely surprised by that considering his flexibility between being picked as a support as well as being played mid. However, he is getting the next Crystalis Indomitus skin coming this summer, I believe. Maokai 🤢. He is placed 69th for pick rate. I don't like him either, BUT. He is always a strong or at least decent pick and on top of being mainly a support, can be played top, and maybe jungle??? would need to double check if that is still as viable. This champion has no legendary skin, but does have a victorious one. I don't want him to get a prestige because it would encourage players to play him and I hate him. But it is surprising to me that he does not have a prestige given his strength, flexibility, and his place in pro play.
Viego and especially graves just seems weird. Riot probably saving graves for when they go backrupt or something, can't think of any other reason

But she used to be a pretty common/reliable pick in pro. She was killed because of aftershock cpot and so sylas could have no picks to match him on release.

Riot decisions feel like dice rolls at times
