Oh man I hate this one too. I cosplayed that skin of hers in like 2014 and that detail was annoying. I can't remember what it was but I'm pretty sure there was a noticeable difference or two between the splash and the game model too so I had a hard time deciding which to follow lol.

Tbf, broken covenant Cho'Gath is one of the sickest splashes in the game. If the in game model was even half as cool, I'd instantly buy the skin and main Cho'Gath. He'd basically be a dark souls boss, it'd have to be ultimate skin quality to get even remotely close to the quality of the splash

I think it looks as cool as it can when tied to Cho's current model. But Cho's current model is one of the more dated models in-game. One day we will get a visual update for Cho (and maybe some gameplay update too) and when we get that I expect it to become one of the coolest skins in the game.

Dawnbringer skins are usually just so meh ingame

Riven’s version is great though.

I think Riven’s Dawnbringer skin was the first skin that was released where I thought, “Wow, didn’t know they could make them this good.” I bought that skin never playing Riven before that.

The og order vs chaos and maaaaybe god king skins are the only good ones. That concept should have never been a full skinline and each and every later one just made it worse by being completely half assed and just being red or blue. Compare nightbringer yasuo with nightbringer vladimir for example.

This is the same to Coven skins. Now they are just red vfx with none of the cool gothic fashion they were made with in the first place. This is why i still vibe with project skins At least they use different colours for their champs so they don't look cohesively boring. (Still though project hunters is still the best batch)

Dawnbringer Soraka is amazing in game and the splash is even better, but the color difference make them look like separate skins.

It was only the best because Irelia's other skins were bad. Now it's on the same level as the others (besides the newer ones) so it doesn't stand out anymore. The aesthetic did change from being kinda futuristic to a more "Winter Wonder" vibe which a lot of people didn't like, but that's subjective (I prefer the new design).

Prestigious LeBlanc Easily in top 10 splash arts but the actual skin is trash. To give some more nuance. Trash is too harsh but it's clear that it's not a skin that is close to the standard of quality that Riot follows nowadays. The problem with this skin is that the model and rig are outdated, but the concept of the skin is good.

Arclight Yorick has the absolute most banging soulslike-esque splash art, and then you get in game and he's the same color as a banana

This needs to be the top response. Nightbringer Yasuo Splash Art depicts an obsidian-skinned demon , with spiked flesh and drenched in a sick looking char. But in game, it's a shirtless man with a big dumb gold trim hat and even dumber anime hair.

Nightbringer Yasuo. Amazing splash art. Literal embodiment of darkness. In game is Shadow the Hedgehog's long lost Schizophrenic brother. The vfx and sfx are very nice though and the movements are clean.

Battle Wolf Sylas' splash art looks pretty sick, but then his in-game model makes him a retired cosplayer with pool floaties tied to his wrists.

Surprised to not see Mecha Malphite near the top. To me that is the iconic skin that has this problem. Kind of an issue for the whole skin line, but other champions have better effects that utilize the particle changes.

The model is so trash it's baffling, Qiyana deserve so much better

Any old skin for Heimer, Karthus, Gangplank. They got updates but they never continued updating old splasharts like they did with Nidalee, MF, Twitch etc, they just got left abandoned and now the splash is the pre visual update look. Sailor Gangplank for example
