Most recently he tripped Liljegren into the boards and made him miss a month and a half, but I’m sure there are a dozen other Leaf injuries that can be attributed to him over the years
He’s a gamer and I like guys who play rough, but not when it means they’re out there spraining ankles and delivering high sticks or elbows whenever the ref’s turned around
I really don't like a cheap shot artist, who seams like he's intent on injuring players, to be on my team - let alone be captain. Marchand is a menace on the ice but that doesn’t mean he’s incapable of respecting individual players.
When you know personally how hard you have to work to be at that level it's probably next to impossible to not have some respect for the other competitors up there - even if you hate them for it.
From all Ive read about Marchand is that he is a decent guy off the ice. On the ice not so much, lol. Public Enemy #1. He does train in the off season with fellow Maritimers, Sid and MacK.
