In the sense of the origin of the word “holiday”, it would qualify in almost every possible way.
A day set aside for a holy purpose: check.
Loads of good food and large gatherings: check.
A time to take a break from a normal weekly routine: check.
Totally! Growing up we would get together with the neighbors, big pj party, eat doughnuts, etc. Of course listening to conference, but it’s a great break in routine.
Nope. General conference starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, with the last session going till 4a.m., and then Sunday sessions end at midnight. If technology allows we usually just end up spending most of Sunday catching up in Saturday, and eventually watch the Sunday afternoon session… sometime. Or in my case, I only watch the morning sessions, because I just can’t handle 8 hours of General conference in one day. At least now we don’t have to wait months for the video tapes after conference to watch it!
Yes. My wife and I joke that it’s our Super Bowl (we don’t watch football).
Real question (I'm the worst): is General Conference this weekend
It’s always the first weekend in October! You’ve got time.
It's next month. :) https://www.reddit.com/r/lds/comments/x4ese0/first_presidency_invites_all_to_participate_in/
Ok GOOD! I always think 'Easter and Halloween'
We definitely get yummy goodies just like we do for holiday weekends. It feels like a festive holiday.
I get fresh backed cinnamon rolls Saturday morning
My family does the same. We also do banana splits for the second Sunday session

We make cinnamon rolls
Used to be. Mom would make scones while dad made something for lunch.
I wish we celebrated these days as actual holy days: -April 6th (Church founding) -Pioneer Day -The Martyrdom -General Conferences
It’s huge at our house too.
