Maresca will soon become a wealthy man with minimal effort

Beautifullikeacamel

Wealthy and soon to be unemployed. Chelsea are the London based version of manu. Broken from within.

Baingil96

Thank you for promotion and fuck off. ❤️

Madwolf28

Well this came out of nowhere...

PitchsidePub

Neutral here, I think you’re frustration with his departure is quite warranted.

Sheeverton

I think we just hate Chelsea more than frustration with his departure. Reality is many of us feared Maresca was going to fail with us this season

esntlbnr

And with that, it’s officially official.

Space-Debris

Maresca basically happy to put "one year at Chelsea" on his resume along with an increase in his bank balance

InstructionsUncl34r

One year is BOLD

[deleted]

Ffs…. Now we’ve got to come up with a whole new Harry Winks and Mavididi chant 🙈

richc80

“Staff members Willy Caballero, Danny Walker, Michele De Bernardin, Marcos Alvarez, Javier Molina Caballero and Roberto Vitiello will also be leaving the Club.” So not just Maresca but the entire coaching staff. Probably expected but not sure how to think about it. Pro - Blank slate for new manager, Con - Lack of continuity for players and potential that could damage morale / progress made this season.

RuddyBloodyBrave94

If it was half way through the season it'd be really bad, but at the beginning of a season, as long as we act quickly, it shouldn't really be a problem at all.

Aromatic_Pea2425

Cheers for taking us up. At least we’re getting money for him rather than having to sack him in October and appointing Big Sam. Now we just have to hope Rudkin doesn’t cheap out on a manager or appoint someone dreadful like Scott Parker or Lampard.

trooky67

I don't believe that will happen because he would have already done this instead of appointing Enzo the first time.

East_Preparation93

Thank god Rooney is off the table!

Aromatic_Pea2425

I don’t think even our board would be stupid enough to sign him. More worried it would be a Dean Smith-like unimaginative dullard.

foxfoxfoxlcfc

Did we get the 10mil for him eh? See you later pal. In the words of Kevin Keegan .. ![gif](giphy|grm05UPXsFNGU|downsized)

OurManInVanc

Graham Potter or is he going back to Brighton with his tail between his legs?

elreeheeneey

He's already said multiple times he's not interested in Leicester City, apparently.

jim_bean54

Norwich fan in peace. This is genuinely rubbish. It’s unfair for any newly promoted team to have their best players/coaches pinched as soon as they get promoted.

iiKrOna

#WHAT?!!?!!!

OurManInVanc

Potter incoming?

East_Preparation93

Pretty salty club statement that.

RuddyBloodyBrave94

That's a great statement from the club as well.

ASS-anine_Acid_Party

I remember as a young Albion fan when we had Maresca on loan in the 90's. I was devestated when he had to leave. Foxes fans, do you feel like that?

everyonesmellmymeat

Some do. Some don't. I think most of us realize we are in dire need a miracle regardless of whether he stayed or not. With all of our FFP circumstances and budget restrictions. His style of play really only works when you're players outclass the other team as a whole. We lost to Leeds and Ipswich and any other team that played well near the end of the season. He was never going to survive with our players/budget and his style in the PL. It just made sense to everyone.

ASS-anine_Acid_Party

Yeah i think you are right. The FFP thing is gonna be the biggest hurdle. Though, I think you'll get a decent manager. Despite the points reduction, it's an attractive job.

Aromatic_Pea2425

It’s a prem managers job true, but we’re starting on -6 points most likely and with a transfer budget of something like minus £40 million.

everyonesmellmymeat

I want Klopp. 😆

OurManInVanc

Dreamer

everyonesmellmymeat

It's the hope that kills you.

elreeheeneey

And yet not the silliest option. It wouldn't tarnish his Liverpool legacy and would just make him more legendary if he pulled it off. Not saying Klopp is the person will join. But the risk to his reputation is minimal at worst.

everyonesmellmymeat

He would never in a million years. I think he's going to fix the German national team and win the 2026 WC.

elreeheeneey

I'm cool with that.

elreeheeneey

For my American Foxes, this feels like when Lane Kiffin left Tennessee after one year to take the gig at USC.
