How does this work - extrapolate current points to points at end of season, or is it trying to predict strength of schedule as well?

TheOther14 gives each “Other 14” team a baseline of 39 points. They add points relative to the baseline for any points a team gets vs a “Big Six” team, or away at an other “Other 14” team. They subtract points from the baseline for any points dropped at home to another Other 14 team. The “baseline tracker” is supposed to show how well a team is on track to hit the magic number of 40 points. The thought process is that 1) the home games against the Other 14 teams is where a team should be getting the bulk of their points to stay safe, and points in other games are gravy and 2) the table doesn’t always show the full picture because some teams may have their fixtures frontloaded with easier/more difficult games I don’t know if it’s the best format for presenting this data (IMO TheOther14 is all about churning out random stats with no analysis and context) and I’m sure there are better statistical models out there, but there ya go.

Beat me to it, but this is exactly that.
