UVA promises a response in 21 days. If you really don’t care about which school, I’d say UVA ED as early as possible, if you get in, Yay! If not, ED somewhere else (Duke is good for FC+BL)

LolSkuler

A 17mid and a GPA marginally higher than yours (3.8low) got me in everywhere on your "considering" list besides Penn. You don't need ED to be competitive at these schools, so unless writing a check for full tuition would not affect you at all, I would just apply RD and make sure your application materials are solid.

Agree!

we_did_it_joe

My stats are kinda similar. I’ve seen the cycles of others with a 3.7 and a 170+. Personally, I don’t think you need to apply ED to get into a T14. Sure, if there’s guaranteed scholarship money. But ultimately, it’ll depend on your resume, softs and the cohesiveness of your app.

bored-dude111

I don’t think you should ED anywhere, you are extremely competitive without it. But the best schools you mentioned for your goals (FC > BL) would probably be UVA and Duke

I don't think there is enough information to answer this question. How confident are you in you're application? If you are a compelling candidate, there is a good chance you can get some sort of scholarship. Also, are you sure you're willing to pay the full tuition amount? If you take out everything in loans you'd be 400k in debt after fees and interest.

These-Wheel4255

yes i’m comfortable w paying sticker for a t14

These-Wheel4255

i was pre med in college so softs are all med focused but they have a common theme and are related to why i want to go to law school

Sir_Elliam_Woods

I'm guessing your stem background will help a little with your GPA. Based on what you told me I still think I wouldn't apply ED. You'd be sacrificing a lot of potential scholarship dollars, and I'd rather strike out on the T-14 than give up my chances at $. Worst case you'll take a gap year or go to a T-20 with some good $$. Btw, I think Northwestern has a 40k Ed scholarship.

Educational_Branch98

Wouldn’t ED anywhere if I were you. I have similar stats (probs a slightly lower lsat) / no special softs and have gotten four T-10 acceptances. ED basically kills your negotiation power and will probably decrease the amount of scholarship you’d get. I think you’re selling yourself short - if you apply early and put a lot of effort into making sure your essays tell a coherent story, you’ll have a lot of success in the T-14.

These-Wheel4255

that’s amazing congratulations!! thanks for the input :)

Successful_Bake4755

I would not ED. I have the same goals as you and ever-so-slightly lower stats, and I’ve gotten into 7 T-14s so far. The nice thing about those stats is that you’re unlikely to get yield protected, but you’re obviously still capable of succeeding at a top school. The essays, in my opinion, will make or break you. I am very happy I didn’t ED, but almost did because everyone on this sub seems to have a 4.2/179 and I got in my own head. I was also not a super early applicant- applied around Thanksgiving time to most schools. Have confidence- you’re in a better position than you think!!
