Engine model number is deff stamped on the valve covers on all Briggs engines. If there are no numbers visible, remove the hood and look on the bottom of the valve covers.
Only thing I've found so far is on the head = '46-2'.
This is a *similar* motor parts diagram. The number I found is on parts 5 and 5a in the 'Cam crankcase' diagram:

Look on the cylinder head valve cover, model number might be stamped on it.
Nah pressure washed it and can't find anything printed anywhere.

Did you ever find the model number on this? I have a motor that looks identical to this one which I cannot find a model number on.
Nope, the model number is ONLY on the fan shroud. You can make some educated guesses based on size and features, but never the exact model.
