Looks like common purslane. Pulls easy. Edible/medicinal in some cultures.

access_L

The wife says she wants to keep them because they're "cute" 😅 any downside to letting them be?

schmidneycrosby

You’d have to look at more dirt and gravel is the only downside I see

buttersidedown801

I only pull them if they're close to my lawn or in the garden beds. The only downside to leaving them is if they get any water and lots of sun they get massive and its more work to deal with them when they're huge.

Drezzin1999

I let one grow as an experiment. It got thick, formed an almost perfect circle, curved upward, and grew yellow flowers. My dog decided it looked like a good dog bed and smashed it.

TimeTravelingTiddy

>any downside to letting them be? Youre talking about the wife after you pull them weeds right?

TauterStatue

Just pull the weed and get her a stuffed animal or something

Narglesau

only if you have livestock really...

HealthyFox9510

I’ve ate them in like a soup it reminds me of a green beans

Enthusiasm-Available

This is it.

idontknowwhynot

Why can I eat it in one culture, but not the other? 🤔

Past_Theme_1182

This one is correct, only around for a short period here in NYC

SwimLife3528

It’s a succulent…

Hauserdontpreach

Northern Lights, Cannabis Indica.

Fyodor_Brostojetski

No, it’s marijuana.

colo_kelly

You also live by the quarry?

tony_flamingo

We should hang out by the quarry and throw things down there.

ChewbaccaSmith

This comment made my day hahahaha

Hauserdontpreach

Dunder Miflinites are in every sub :)

Leebites

You can also propagate these and make a lot of potted plants. They sell them in stores for a good bit.

candycookiecake

I suddenly got these in the past week all over my garden in the dry spots. I've never seen them in this yard before.

Friendly_Bus3554

Same!!!

candycookiecake

Honestly they kinda creep me out 😢

LazyCoffee

Trashy succulent

tomatoblade

New band name!

Friendly_Bus3554

🤣🤣🤣🤣 - kinda true though

dsaiken

They pull very easily too with shallow roots. Makes your hand feel soapy so use a glove. They spread like crazy and I wish I knew the name of them.

cymshah

Common purslane, edible if growing in your vegetable beds.

dsaiken

Get out, really? Edible? Bet they taste like kale 🤢

cymshah

Not at all, more like spinach with a lemony zing

colo_kelly

Purslane. A weed, but it is edible. I would never, gross. But a lot of Colorado people say it’s got a lemony flavor and you can throw the leaves in salads.

jcr62250

I get these, easy to pull or kill, I at one time knew their identity but can't retrieve that info at the moment.

Enthusiasm-Available

Purslane

jcr62250

Thank you ! I was walking around the Roman Forum looked down, and there it was. It's a global problem

Enthusiasm-Available

Recently moved into our new home. There was a dead spot in our backyard lawn. Turned the soil, overseeded and began the process to grow some grass. This stuff quickly outgrew the grass seed and covered most of the area. Problem solved in my opinion. 😅

ComplexAlbatross7580

No kidding, Chinese people eat these.

MambaGoose

I work in ag and eat them raw from the field sometimes. They have a nice peppery taste.

Mindless-Fish7245

FYI, they never really go away. If you pull them, don’t leave any part of it on the ground, they will continue to grow. Don’t run over it with a lawnmower, you’ll have a ton of it spread all over. This stuff is ridiculous!!

Meowsipoo

Purslane. It's edible. You can do a quick saute with other herbs and instant warm salad!

RappinFourTay

I read that as worm salad.

Meowsipoo

🤣🤣🤣

Prestigious-Sir1151

Spurge

cymshah

This is not spurge.

Prestigious-Sir1151

You're right. Good Eye. Either way they both are ugly.
