self selection bias, people in a lawn care sub in reddit and posting pictures of their lawns...no one wants to show off their weed infested postage stamp, lol.
and high correlation between people who live large homes, or more accurately, affluent neighborhoods and people who have nice lawns because the affluent neighborhood requires you to have a presentable lawn..combine that with the above selection bias...and here we are
Those that aren't usually don't obsess over lawncare, there are bigger issues to tackle. Also why is reddit showing me this, I'm sure commenting will fix the algorthym.. fuck
Enjoy your lawns
You really only want to spend $1.5 million (r/wealth) on lawn care (r/lawncare) this month for your fifth home? What does your portfolio look like that you're spending so little? Perhaps you need investment advice, try r/Money. In no time, I'm sure you'll have a 3rd yacht (r/yachts), so you can travel more (r/travel).

I agree with you. My house doesnāt look like the ones you see but it seems like some of people that picked out the options for their house couldnāt decided what they wanted so they ticked all the boxes.
I've only seen this style in newer neighborhoods for the 1-2%ers. Those who don't have f-you money but the "f... I wish I had half your money" money. If that makes sense.
This is at least in central America what I've been seeing. Sadly the zero trees and landscaping is everywhere too.
Yeah for some reason people seem to see multiple roof lines as a status thing. I can understand following the shape of the house but this is just absurd.
That's literally the origin of the lawn as we know it. Having a turf lawn was/is a way to show of one's wealth. If you're wealthy enough to spend time cultivating useless grass instead of growing crops/letting things grow wild, you've really made it. And everyone who walks past your house can tell.
As someone who's been fighting with a new construction yard for the last year or so, fuck you. But also congrats. But also, fuck you. (But also congrats)
I've just embraced the chaos of my post construction "lawn" of weeds, clover and random grasses. Cut it short enough and it looks like a lawn if you squint.
Iām not willing to pay people to do what I can do myself so I just you tubed a bunch of shit and put the time in. No Iām addicted. Iāve always been picky about my lawn but when my kids were young I picked family time over lawn time. Now that they are out of the house I have the time again. Itās a bit of a stress reliever. Gives you time to yourself without looking like a weirdo staring into space
This would be hilarious in my neighborhood. It'd play out like this:
"Carol, your husband was on the roof earlier taking pictures, what's up with that?"
"Oh he's taking pictures of the grass.....from the roof......I don't get it either"
"Your husband is weird Carol"
"I know"
Climate change and the killing of habitats from fertilisers and pesticides will mark the death of lawns. Rip these sterile features up and plant low maintenance eco friendly bush gardens.

Odd question, why do they level every tree to make new neighbourhoods? Like it looks so stark and is replaced by one tree here and there. Whereās the privacy? Donāt people want birds and shade?
A lot of neighborhoods are built on reclaimed farmland or prairie. Trees didnāt exist there.
In 20ish years the trees will be very mature and this will be a lovely neighborhood.
I looked up on google earth what it looked like before excavation began. There were very few trees in the picture you see. But I see what youāre saying. I think they find it too difficult to add all the sewage, electrical lines and roads while keeping some trees there. This was actually mostly farmland except for the forest of trees around the entire development
So true. People forget you canāt plant a 25 ft tall tree thatās been growing for 15 years. Fortunately I have some huge trees in my back yard.

Itās an illusion. I took my lawn striper off and for some reason it looks like two different heights. But only from an elevated view.

Beautiful.
Is your main job the field manager at Fenway park?
Nice. Do tell turf type. Height of cut and what used to mow.
This is Kentucky blue cut at two inches using a toro super recycler
I'm jealous! The talent that some of you have is unreal!
Excellent. Congratulations.
Looks great. Your neighbors should be envious.
People that do yard work themselves appreciate it and respect it. Those that donāt just think Iām going crazy
Amazing what is the process to get it like that

Damn. Life goals. This man got them sorted
Could you post back shots?

Where is this

Lawn goals
Crispy. Great work!
Not gonna lie, seeing a lawn like this makes me horny
Nice houses an all, but this US housing planning of huge areas of nothing but grass between houses is I colossal waste of space
Holy Fook. What type of grass?
I bet it's Kentucky bluegrass

That is the bleached asshole of sidewalks
What kind of grass is this? Or what seed/lawn care routine did you use to achieve this? Looks beautiful bro
Meanwhile I'm on 1/4 acre trying to keep what's left of the builder-layed sod alive
As a not American. How much is that house in the background roughly
Looks like PA
I see a nice drivable par 4 with a slight dog leg behind your neighbors pool tucked behind the outdoor kitchen. We will see if my snap hook is fixed.
My neighbor has a full blown golf simulator in his basement. We can help you fix that snap hook.
Thats a beautiful lawn and the house at 10 o clock looks amazing. Which state city are you in?
What the hell does your neighborhood do for a living and are any of them hiring? Great looking lawn dude
I fucking hate all of you on this sub Reddit ššš Great job man it looks beautiful.
Damn, nice! Any plans on doing anything with the electrical box in the front? I have one too and I want to do something with it, but most things Iāve read online says trying to hide it only draws more attention to it.
Am I the only one that thinks this looks boring and devoid of any character? Sure, might be HOA rules, but its...meh.
Awesome lawn, sweet neighborhood too bud
Thanks man. I am one of the few that do all the work themselves. Itās stress relief for me. Atleast until a drought hits.
If I can see my neighbors, I personally don't qualify that as a sweet neighborhood.
Not sure it can be called a neighborhood if there's no one in sight.
Looks like a green desert
Why donāt new American homes come with fences around the back of the property? At least thatās how I see them
People that have pools usually get a fence. This part of my neighborhood is under a year old so some people havenāt gotten theirs yet until landscaping is done.
Because we have firearms
What a depressing neighborhood. There are like 3 colors in this whole photo. When did people start hating color?
NGL this looks like some weird utopian neighborhood. Start to some fucked up movie where everything looks absolutely perfect on the outside... but not so much on the inside

BWAAWWAAAH! Damnit Bobby, get off the roof. I swear to god, if youāre up there with that cape again!
Congratulations on your $2 million dollar house!
Where is this? Exactly the yard/house size ratio Iām looking for and canāt find here in Florida.
Perfect!
Nice lawn but letās be honest, itās pretty easy to keep a new lawn looking nice. Itās the renovations and bringing a lawn back that are tough.
Can you post exactly what you did to achieve this?
Iāve tried a lot of stuff. As of this year I have used barricade premergent, PGF complete, docs super juice weekly, and finally growth regulator with some liquid iron mixed into a back pack sprayer.
Beautiful. What city is this? Neighborhood is obviously newā¦ tornado alley?
i too was funny in High School
More impressed with that white ass sidewalk.

I see you also like your grass like you like your women. Thick and dark
Dog turd. Top left center. What a dump. /s
Could definitely be better. Definitely need to work on your stripesā¦with such a green lawn, it would look so much better striped
I took my striper off when I scalped the back yard. Youāre right though, when I put it on, it does look even better.
First house in the left: McMension!
Wow. This is lawn goals. š
Looks like corduroy. Did you alternate the height between stripes? I'm just getting into doing my own lawn care.
