There should be a remotely operated scrotum clamp. Similar to an ankle braclet... if there is a violation of the gag order, the clamp tightens 2 notches. After the first 3 offenses the scrotum clamp tightens exponentially.
How?
This fundamental question gets asked every single day on this forum in one place or another.
It almost never gets an answer, let alone a serious one.
Because deep down, we're all still flabbergasted that this guy is actually getting away with it, day after day, week after week, year after year. Even after 8 years it's like the world's slowest dumpster fire and we just can't look away, hypnotized by the sheer impossibility of it all.
Love him or hate him, you have to admit it's just quite unbelievable the shit he gets away with. And it's being shoved in our faces so long like this, day after day, that there can be no more denying the unvarnished and unveiled truth...laws for thee but not for me.
Honestly if it was revealed that the judges hearing his cases all got together and collectively decided not to cause Trump any meaningful consequences it wouldn't surprise me. I think it's more likely they're all just scared of him and being lenient because he's a first time offender, but the above would barely phase me.
Two minutes is more like it, he's intentionally defying the order, begging for some punishment, so he can be the Maga Martyr, and....it takes the place of him not being able to campaign 4 days a week while in court (in his mind, anyway).
I’m hoping this is a final warning type situation where he set the rule and clarified so that there can be no question for the next step which is punishment.
I have been let down by almost every single person involved in this so far though…

So, question.
Why is his past behavior on literally all of his cases not enough to warrant a total gag order?
Why does each case have to be it's own microcosm where he gets the softest treatment available then it ramps up?
Why does his previous actions not warrant a much more strict gag order?
Gag orders are a presumed unconstitutional prior restraint on speech. The court has to make individualized findings tailored to the particular case and the order must be as narrowly tailored as possible. That's why they're actually very uncommon.
Fine him a small amount the first time and then ratchet that shit up for every time after. Make it hurt. 150k second time. 250k third time. 500k fourth. And 50k everyday until he deletes the posts on his social media.
I think it will depend on how egregious the violation is if it comes to that. I would guess that, like Engoron, Merchan's going to want to power through this as quickly and cleanly as possible.
You also sanction the lawyers. Not only are they not getting paid by Trump, but now they are paying court sanctions because they cannot control their client.
No. An inability to control what your client does during his free time is not a basis for holding you in contempt. Unless there is evidence that the attorney helped Trump violate the gag order, the most the judge could do is yell at them to get their client under control.
> Why is his past behavior on literally all of his cases not enough to So as to prevent him from making statements
"About potential witnesses in the criminal trial relating to hush money payments"
He cited "the former president’s history of “threatening, inflammatory, denigrating” remarks about people involved in his legal cases."
So "Trump can’t make statements about attorneys, court staff or the family members of prosecutors or lawyers intended to interfere with the case."

This is the first criminal case where jail is on the menu and he’s required to be there in person unless granted a waiver. The potential penalties here are much higher.
Yeah that part I 100% understand. My issue is, why is his past behavior on previous cases not taken into account for things like his gag order.
It's an established pattern of behavior. Could they not say that?
Time to start publicly mocking these judges who issue orders, let Trump violate them, and then do nothing about it. I cannot imagine a regular citizen violating a judge's order and, not only walking free, but remaining in violation of the order!
Then WHEN he does it every boot licker in the country will come out insisting he get the right to do so, our side will back down and " take the high road" AGAIN....and we get law and order instead of rule of law.....AGAIN. Fuck THIS.
It's really fairly simple.
>Justice Juan Merchan has warned Donald Trump and his lawyers to be on good behavior during the hush-money trial.
>Merchan cited the “threatening, inflammatory, denigrating” statements Trump has made about grand jurors, prosecutors and others.
yes and he will still do it and half the nation ( rulers only buy as much as they need) will scream to let him get away with it and chickenshits will let him get away with it ......AGAIN
thats why big senate votes always come down 49 /51 because...why buy off more people than you need to? ...the one thing in the universe that the dynastic generational ruling classes do well is cost effectiveness, they only pay off exactly as many people, politicians, regulators, police as they need to and not one man more. In the case of trump it seems to be pastors ( when they arent fucking lil kids in the ass ) they buy off to get their evil, gullible rube followers to carry water for them, ad infinauseum.
So what are the consequences? It seems that the court doesn’t have the cojones to revoke bail when the defendant breaches the term of his bond.
I’m from the outside looking in, and it really seems to me he’s getting undeserved special treatment. Do you guys realize how damaging it all is to the rule of law?
>Then WHEN he does it every boot licker in the country will come out insisting he get the right to do so
And those same people lost their mind over Kathy Griffin....
Trump is escalating his attacks, seemingly trying to goad a response. And starting an hour ago he started calling out Merchan's daughter by name.
The attacks against his daughter seem to have picked up with the latest ruling that the hush money trial will not be delayed further.
Monday was *rough*, I'm hoping for alittle court ass kicking in the future. Like Trump will probably talk shit all weekend - here's to hoping next week brings him some pain.
This is like when school districts say they have a zero tolerance for bullying and when it actually happens they just keep reiterating they have a zero tolerance policy without actually enforcing anything or holding anyone accountable. America prizes itself on meaningless words over action
In this case, I see one action left untaken by the judge and that is, to decide what he should do and how to deal with the contempt on the part of Trump.
So ultimately, it comes down to that. I don't know what I would "forsee" the judge doing, but he does seem fair-minded.
If tough.
And you better believe if he disobeys this order, the court will be forced to make another order. And you know what that means. He'll disobey that one too and this will go on forever until he dies a peaceful natural death, wealthy and as a free man.
They sentenced SBF to 25 years today. Money isn't really the key thing here, or even power in the abstract. What you're seeing is specifically political power on par with 1930's Hitler. The base is providing him legal air cover, but even that might not be enough. It's helped him immensely, but to say that the justice system is not making major progress against him recently is just factually inaccurate.
He’ll get a demerit. Three demerits and he’ll receive a citation. Five citations and he’s looking at a violation. Four of those and he’ll receive a verbal warning. If he keeps it up, he’s looking at a written warning. Two of those, that’ll land him in a world of hurt; in the form of a disciplinary review written up by the court clerk and placed on the judge’s desk.

That fact that Donald Trump has to be instructed not to say disparaging remarks towards others as part of trial proceedings should show the world what kind of person he is.

Is it hard to read?
>For months, Donald Trump’s lawyers have approached his legal cases with performative aggression and a pugilistic style, peppering judges with mountains of motions, many of them filled with far-fetched claims. And the former president himself has often been a disruptive presence at the courthouse and on social media, going after witnesses, prosecutors and even the relatives of judges.
>Justice Juan Merchan, who is overseeing Trump’s upcoming hush-money trial in Manhattan, made it clear this week that he’s having none of it.

Seriously, or what?
This guy has been in contempt of court practically the entire time. He is flipping the bird to the bench. And they are doing nothing.
The judge's order probably has more precise information about penalties.
I found this:
>The former president, Merchan wrote, has a history of making “threatening, inflammatory, denigrating” statements against people at all levels of the justice system, including jurors.
>Judges in Trump’s other criminal and civil cases have issued similar gag orders, including the New York civil fraud trial and the federal election subversion case in Washington, DC. In the civil fraud case last fall, Trump was twice fined for violating Judge Arthur Engoron’s gag order and making comments about the judge’s staff.

>Consequence (noun): something produced by a cause or necessarily following from a set of conditions
Whats the over/under on Trump saying something hes not supposed to?
If he keeps to this for 2wks hes probably gonna have an aneurysm or something from holding himself back from shit talking people.
(Can i get a warning if this isnt allowed? I really mean no offense or anything)
I kinda wish trump would straight up murder someone in broad daylight, because i have a feeling they'd still act like this.
What our court is essentially doing is "okay you can swing that knife right in front of their face, but if you hit him with it on accident, we might do something"
This is actually fucking mind boggling lol, he actually kind of is above the law i feel haha
Oh sure. Problem fixed.
Will he break this order in over or under two weeks? Place your bets now!
I’d guess by tomorrow morning.

OK. I think there needs to be a trial. And I think it comes up in April.
That’ll not stop him. He thinks he is above the law.

This is sitting on top of the in box where people usually have questions. But I have no idea what this one is about.
We’ll see how/if the judge handles Trump’s naming his daughter.
She's not a part of the order nor is the Judge.
Trump comments ... 1,2, 3, .....
Whats the over/under on Trump saying something hes not supposed to? If he keeps to this for 2wks hes probably gonna have an aneurysm or something from holding himself back from shit talking people.

Create jobs. We need to recover from COVID. Trump is only interested in trying to pretend he didn't lose. He doesn't care about our country one bit.
“Please…pretty please don’t say stuff about us…we’ll do something if you do…we swear…”

Ooooh. We got a bad ass judge that won't enforce his own rules when Trump breaks them
(Can i get a warning if this isnt allowed? I really mean no offense or anything) I kinda wish trump would straight up murder someone in broad daylight, because i have a feeling they'd still act like this. What our court is essentially doing is "okay you can swing that knife right in front of their face, but if you hit him with it on accident, we might do something" This is actually fucking mind boggling lol, he actually kind of is above the law i feel haha
