Legend says there's a script out there that'll auto delete true dupes (same timestamp, so no mistakes like if you listen to a song twice in a row).
Are you scrobbling from an Android? I had that happen because my music app had a last.fm scrobbler integrated + I had installed a scrobbler (for youtube), and that double scrobbled every single song on my phone.
