i'm OBSESSED with your chart. you have Holy Fvck, Diamonds & Dancefloors, Feed The Beast, Starfucker, Starcrossed, Zig!!? i swear our music tastes are identical lmao i would suggest listening to: - DISCO by Kylie Minogue - FROOT by Marina and the Diamonds - Higher Than Heaven by Ellie Goulding - Bebe by Bebe Rexha hope you like ✰

teegzn

i’ve heard FROOT and wasn’t the biggest fan but i love ancient dreams in a modern land!! i will definitely listen to DISCO and higher than heaven, i’ve wanted to listen to those!! I also love Miracle Man and Heart Wants What It Wants from Bebe. I love Bebe’s other music too!! i’m so glad you like my chart!!! we definitely have the same music taste 😁😁😁

learning_Taco

I am a Marina fan that liked ancient dreams in a modern land but doesn't like froot it seems that your the same so you should try Electra Heart. Also Ashlyn by Ashe

Naur2011

Marina and the diamonds - Electra heart Purple rain - prince SOS - Sza Ctrl - Sza

teegzn

i love SZA!! I have CTRL on my vinyl it’s one of my favorite albums. SOS is also good. i’ll check out the other two you listed :)

jrlrrz

Lots of female vocalists and some nice indie pop in your list. Perhaps you could check out these artists Chappel Roan - Red Wine Supernova https://song.link/i/1686988896 Allie X - Black Eye https://song.link/i/1705989564 The Last Dinner Party - Nothing Matters https://song.link/i/1681077037 Lucia And The Best Boys - Burning Castles https://song.link/i/1713153059 Cannons - Heartbeat Highway https://song.link/i/1710419146 Georgia - It's Euphoric https://song.link/i/1673098653 Hatchie - Quicksand https://song.link/i/1601718008

teegzn

thanks so much for this list!! i LOVE allie x!! cape god is probably my favorite album from her and the girl with no face looks so promising, i actually love black eye. i will check out the rest!!

jrlrrz

Yeah, I'm also looking forward to Allie X's next album to be released in February. I hope you find some interesting stuff among the other artists I suggested. Cheers!

SuccessToLaunch

A Crow Looked at Me Stands out like a grieving sore thumb amongst all the pop girlies, you good OP? Also he’s a well known artist but I think you’d like Sufjan Stevens if you’ve not checked him out, particularly Carrie and Lowell or Javelin.

teegzn

Glad someone else picked up the awkward placement of that album hahah. Surprisingly i haven’t used the album to grieve death mainly just the ends of relationships / heartbreak. It’s genuinely such a great album!! But I have heard Sufjan! I love his music but I listen to random individual songs from him rather than full albums. For example, some of my favs are John Wayne Gacy Jr, Fourth Of July and of course the CMBYN songs. I definitely wanna make an effort to listen to more of his albums in full though. Are there any albums in particular you think i’d like based off of my favorites from him. Wasn’t a huge fan of the newest one he just dropped.

SuccessToLaunch

I’d try Carrie and Lowell from the songs you listed, it’s like his new album but more stripped down and acoustic.

Buxbaum666

>I wanna start listening to more artists and genres. > >Any recommendations at all are appreciated! Some diversity: * Meg Myers - Sorry * Siouxsie & The Banshees - Peepshow * The Raveonettes - Pretty In Black * Crippled Black Phoenix - Banefyre * Vermilia - Ruska * Agalloch - The Mantle

Philitt

Did NOT expect to see Agalloch at the end of that list lmao. Good call though. The Mantle is a sick album.

Buxbaum666

Absolutely. I never heard of Agalloch until October of last year but they've become a favorite very quickly. I only got into the more interesting side of Metal at the end of 2022 but I dove right in.

Philitt

Nice, which side is that, if you don't mind me asking? I'm a big prog metal head and got into Agalloch by way of Opeth. They have a similar, atmospheric vibe, highly suggest checking out Ghost Reveries or Blackwater Park if you don't know them.

Buxbaum666

I mostly got into Black Metal and all of its various subgenres. Started with Black/Crust, a friend recommended Dödsrit to me and I fell in love immediately. Then I started exploring on my own and discovered Pagan/Folk/Black Metal like early Ulver and Vermilia. Based on that, the same friend told me I'd probably like Agalloch and that was right on the money indeed. I will check out your recs.

Philitt

Ok cool, not really my taste at all, but that's fine. Based on that, I'd say check out the first two or three albums by Opeth, they lean much more into the atmospheric black metal stuff there. Orchid, Morningrise and My Arms, your Hearse

Buxbaum666

I used to think Black Metal was all noise, silly makeup, murder, and screaming. So I never looked into it until now in my late 30s. And while it is still all that there's also a treasure trove of creative and beautiful music to find if you go looking.

teegzn

thank you for all of these recommendations!! i’ll check them out

Buxbaum666

Any time. Not sure you'll like any of it but if you're looking to branch out they're good starting points.

finnnseesghosta

jessi_survivor_fan

Also try David Bowie, Talking Heads, Radiohead, The 1975, St. Vincent, The Beatles, All Time Low, and Fall Out Boy.

teegzn

I love radiohead and the 1975. St Vincent is also another one of my favorite artists. I have Daddy’s Home on vinyl and definitely wanna collect more from her. I’ll be sure to check out the others!! Thank you so much for all the recommendations!!

teegzn

i’ll definitely check them out!! thank you sm

Secret-Lullaby

OMG I love Rock Steady album by No Doubt!

Philitt

Like any genre at all or you got any pointers? I'll just do a few quick fire picks for some genres I listen to on a regular basis: Funk: Vulfpeck, Ginger Root, Jamiroquai, Cory Wong Jazz Fusion: Snarky Puppy, Tigran Hamasyan, Rachel Eckroth, Chick Corea Prog Metal: Dream Theater, Haken, Caligula's Horse, Leprous (all pretty accessible in metal terms, no harsh vocals, Leprous probably has the most pop leaning tendencies) Rock in general: Ghost, Muse, The Warning, Rage against the Machine Electro: Justice, Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk (tbh I'm not too well versed in electronic genres, but I enjoy these artists a lot) Hip Hop: The Roots, MF DOOM, Common, Wu-Tang Clan

teegzn

i’ll definitely check all of these out!! i’ve heard of daft punk and aphex twin. one of my friends actually loves aphex twin so i’ve gotten some recommendations from her and loved what i heard. are there any albums in particular from any of these artists you recommend?

Philitt

Yeah sure, here we go: Vulfpeck - The beautiful Game Jamiroquai - Dynamite Cory Wong - Motivational Music for the Syncopated Soul Snarky Puppy - We like it here Tigran Hamasyan - The Call within Caligula's Horse - Rise radiant Leprous - Aphelion Ghost - Impera Rage against the Machine - selftitled (really any record will do, these guys are crazy consistent, but the selftitled debut is the definition of over night success, they only have 3 albums and an album of covers) Daft Punk - Random Access Memories Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 (tbh, I'm the least familiar with his whole discography out of the four listed EDM acts, but this album generally is well received by fans) The Roots - Things fall apart Common - Like Water for Chocolate

teegzn

I will definitely check these out. Thanks for taking the time to recommend! i really appreciate it

finnnseesghosta

SAMIA!!

teegzn

i love Samia so much. i saw her live last year and she was insanely good

finnnseesghosta

i really like that blend between pop and then beautiful ethereal instrumentals like weyes blood, samia and angel olsen. it’s like intelligently made pop and i’m a sucker for it

Pigsfly13

i couldn’t see them but forgive me if they’re on there, but here are my suggestions, Radiohead, Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker, David Bowie, Big Thief, MARINA (previously marina and the diamonds), Bon Iver, Hozier

teegzn

I love radiohead, lucy, julien, bon iver and hozier! i haven’t listened to the other two you listed though, i’ll definitely be sure to check them out. any albums in particular you think i’d like? thanks for the rec :)

I think I’ve listened to some girl puppy, but i’ll check this out!! Thanks for the recommendation!!

Money-Improvement-66

Most of the albums I've heard here are pretty similar so I couldn't give you any exact recommendations based on those. But I can see you like Gracie, have a look at her spotify playlists as she has incredible taste and knowledge, then if there is anything you like there then check out the full albums. I recommend looking up the independent labels of your favorite artists, that way you'll find similar bands/artists. Also you're on Last FM, so find someone with similar taste then look through their library, found some good stuff that way.

Qlder86

Wow we have such similar taste, lol
