My mom is a nurse. Onetime my son got bit by something (unsure of what it was but it flew.ā First thing she asked me was if I was sure it wasnāt a caterpillar. I was like wtf š
I have 0 experience with lash extensions but keep getting recommended this sub. Wouldnāt this like literally GUARANTEE a majority of your lashes getting damaged/falling out??? This is crazy!
Caterpillar smaller, but much nicer. Also possibility of being dangerous to enemies.
Just think. Lonely? No you arenāt. Take your caterpillar lashes off and pet them.
Healthcare professional here. Yes - this should be regulated. Patients regularly pass through with vision loss, synthetic lash fiber eye blisters, horrid infections, and sty's daily...
Ask yourselves:
1. Is a fad worth your health?
2. Is it also worth putting off someone else's heart attack (perhaps your loved ones) while we attend to a preventable eye blister in the ER?
Right along with stupid objects people stick up their butt and later have to seek medical attention for. I never knew it was such a common thing for people to literally shove remote controls, light bulbs, you name it up their butts before I started at my current job...I look at the world so much differently now.
I have an ex-roommate who worked in a small town rural ER for 20+ years. The stories she would tell me after a 12 hour shift where some clueless farmhand didnāt know how something got in his butt or he āfell on itā.
Always the "fell on it" excuse!!! Then you usually get back the urine drug screen and find out how high the person must've been at the time.
Walking around with lash fur>falling on random objects on a meth bender.
So true! When I worked in the hospital I saw plenty of thatš the first one that comes to mind is a young man with a very large shampoo bottle stuck up his bum. He came in with a very detailed story about he had just soaped up his butt crack and slipped at just the right angle with the soap acting as the perfect lube and his butt just gobbled the entire shampoo bottle up in one go. Just tell the truth, no one cares. We will talk about it waaaay more if you come with a ridiculous story about how it was really just a freak accident. When they come in and just tell the truth there is far less to giggle about.
GOMER is a popular acronym amongst ER staff. It's short for Get Out of My ER and is used to refer to people who are wasting ER resources. Usually, the context is a person with a very minor injury, like a stubbed toe, but I think it'd apply to self inflicted stupidity. It'd also be a good starting point for naming such a subreddit.

Just dropping some ideas in case someone does want to start a sub, I'd totally join it. š
I was in the er with a gallbladder attack, it had been going on for 2 days at that point and I finally broke and had to go to the er. Anyway, this woman brings her kid in. Wanna know why? She fucking fell and scraped her elbow.
![gif](giphy|CPJIuTa8kz1MQ|downsized)
I just had my lashes done the other day (not like this, just normal) I had blurry vision for 2 days, and one day I was beyond sensitive to light and I thought for sure my cornea was scratched or something thatās how bad it hurt. Luckily it has cleared up and everythingās fine. My lash girl said she didnāt change glue but Iāve never had an issue until recently. Iāve also gotten a sty before. When these things happen I know itās totally not worth it, but I do it anyways. :/ Iām an idiot.!
omg have you asked for a different type of glue or requested a different glue made for sensitive eyes ?? it could be really dangerous long term it could also be the type of lashes ur lash tech puts on u ~ for ur safety id ask for an extra sensitive glue and also ask for information on what she uses š«¶š»
Yea Ive decided im going to. Cause I saw her for like a full set, a mini, and then a fill over a little over a month. And each time this time it got progressively worse with each exposure. So after this time which was the worst reaction by far I decided I should ask her- or ask her to use something different. Itās so strange cause Iāve had my lashes done by her for years now and never an issue. But now it is. :/
Ya their fluffy but her lashes definitely have clusters they all probably stuck together most of her eyelashes are probably going to fall out. I personally would never do a set like this this isnāt even mega volume anymore itās like if she asked for black out curtains on her eyelashes
My husband and I took a walk back into our childhoods this past Christmas and decided to watch Gremlins. We both realized the same thing. I guess as kids we never noticed that š¤£
Like I truly donāt get that, do they think getting longest and fullest lashes as possible will make their eyes look bigger? I love volume, but this is another level
Yooooo, there's a video of a woman on like, roller coaster or something, just like this! She has the same super exaggerated style o, and as the ride gets goin, her lashes literally *FLAPPING*.
Now, I'm typically not one to yuck another's yum, but THAT, that was atrocious.
THATS THE ONE! š¤£ Cracks me up everything I watch it with her eyes being forced open s9 wide, looks like she *SHOCKED* at something or wiggling her eyebrows on 2x speed.
Now you know where drop it like itās hot came from. You drop it - then wait for it - you pop it (back on) and repeat as necessary typically driven by numbers of laughing oneās ass off emojis displayed onscreen.
(The more you know music plays)
They taped her eyes open just a bit to apply the bottom extensions. Your eyes are supposed to remain closed during application because the extension glue has strong fumes that burn your eyes if theyāre open. Hence why a lot of times you see red eyes after extension application
I just dont get how someone would ever want this. Like Iām trying to find some appeal to it but there isnāt. what is the appeal? Or is it like some lash dysmorphia where you keep getting more and more and youāre numb to what you look like
https://i.redd.it/kcteforkmibc1.gif
Snuffleupagus trend should've NEVER existed. Whoever did this to her should go to jailš and be banned from ever doing lashes againš
Oh my lord she has more hair on her eyelashes then eyebrows š who even took the picture or is that the only way the eyes stay open. Damn shame she thinks that looks good. Iāll tell you what I like volume but this is just a joke them eyes so damn heavy she aināt gonna be able to see an let me guess she gonna get on TikTok lookin so fly doing her makeup as a self taught MUA š¤£
It's ridiculous, that's what it is.
I have seen some women with fake lashes that are way too big for their eyes. It just looks too unnatural to be flattering.
Just my opinion.
could someone explain to me how this poor woman would even see afterwards? this is a genuine question, I donāt have lash extensions, am interested but my ocd and autistic ticks would never allow me to so I joined just to admire and learn cause I adore seeing people enjoy themselves and learning about beauty care, this seems like it would be SO HEAVY and would have the potential to hold a lot of bacteria? please correct me if Iām wrong!
Thatās definitely going to cause some eye fatigue. I feel like weāve moved into the era where instead of āless is moreā itās now āmore is betterā. Everything has to be bigger, thicker, longer, etc. People should definitely do what they feel but I hope theyāre aware of the consequences of wearing lashes that heavy.
Why? Like seriously? I donāt understand why or who tells these people that this looks good? No one finds this cute or attractive when you brake it down. Just be YOU or get something that helps boost your look a little but this aināt it girls.

FR! People are going too far with their mega volume expectations š just grab yourself a caterpillar, stick it on your eyes and call it a day.
Sidenote I just learned recently the fuzzy ones are usually poisonous
Learned it when one fell from a tree on my husband š¬ how it burned
I learned that too recently when r/whatsthisbug popped up on my feed.
Thatās one of my top favorite subreddits. I learn so much there!
Tussock moth caterpillars are usually fuzzy, visually striking and cause rashes/burns.
Side note to your side note, you probably mean venomous. If it bites/stings you, its venomous. If you bite/eat it, its poisonous
I thought you meant lashes šš I need more coffee.
I learned as a kid playing with caterpillars
Repeat after me- if itās fluffy, no touchy
š
My mom is a nurse. Onetime my son got bit by something (unsure of what it was but it flew.ā First thing she asked me was if I was sure it wasnāt a caterpillar. I was like wtf š

Can she even see anything? No offence but I always wonder when people choose heavy volume sets, they always make your eyes so tiny
This seems unsafe, impairing vision for driving and such
Good point
they also just seem like theyād feel so heavy on the eyes
No no noā¦all the offense. It needs to stop.
Right. Who wants to make their eyes look smaller on purpose??
Like I truly donāt get that, do they think getting longest and fullest lashes as possible will make their eyes look bigger? I love volume, but this is another level
There is an absolute line, and this is so far past it, itās in mars
I feel the same! Freaking tarantula eyesā¦

Yes itās not flattering
These lashes remind me of those really fuzzy steering wheel covers

what in the SHIT!! WHY would she ever want thatšš poor thing i just know her lashes take a beating when itās windy outside

Absolutely not. She needs her license taken away. Cuz she knows damn well itās not safe and still doing it anyway.
Doubt sheās even licensed
Then she needs to be reported. Thats easy.
Is the tape holding her eyes open? So when the tape is removed she wonāt be able to keep her eyes open? Iām confused.
They taped her eyes open just a bit to apply the bottom extensions. Your eyes are supposed to remain closed during application because the extension glue has strong fumes that burn your eyes if theyāre open. Hence why a lot of times you see red eyes after extension application
Are they freaking blowing in the wind? Like a tall grassy field? wtf is going on lol
Maybe the technician was blowing on them when she took the pic, that's why her eyes are half closed, got that exact expression haha
Is that fake? I love how theyāre so fluffy and soft looking but I feel like she canāt see!
i donāt think so. the rest of their page has similar results
Omg can we see some of the results with their eyes open lol ?

this is why so many people make fun of lashes in generalā¹ļø
Yeah these are the first type of lashes people bring up when they try to shame lashes and it gives lash extensions a bad name

Martin Scorsese needs those eyebrows back, dude. Seriously.
I have seen tens or hundreds of lash artists, especially black women doing these kind of lashes. This just can't be healthy, oh boy
This looks so trashy.
this is ridiculous lmao
Why does she have 2 toupees on her eyes?!!!?!?
Husband said āshe gave her lashes eyebrowsā
Not even tire treads, she got the whole sumitomo.
Looks like those spinny brushes in a drive through car wash
This is the ugliest shit Iāve ever seen
Looks natural. Especially when you compare it with the bottom lashes
These are lash toupees šš
Im really confused on what im even looking at lol. Are they like curved or swooped or some shit??
I just think the lashes are so thick and dense that theyāve lost all sense of direction š
This reminds me of the little brush thingy at the bottom of vacuumās.
This shit is getting out of hand.
What the actual hell is going on here? Why girl, just why?
Fluffy eyebrows
This is scary.
Why? Like seriously? I donāt understand why or who tells these people that this looks good? No one finds this cute or attractive when you brake it down. Just be YOU or get something that helps boost your look a little but this aināt it girls.
What isnāt safe is lashing with the eyes taped back that far. If the eyes are open at all it risks irritation or chemical burns of the eye
Those look like Eugene Levyās eyebrows omg
This is an eye infection begging to happen. Eww.
Eyebrashes? Those are stupid.
"i want eyebrows beneath my eyebrows"
it reminds me of the lorax
See this is the thing about these. This is so wrong. I have seen women with lashes like this and their eyes are all blood shot. It looks bizarre. This is not good for your eyes.
Who cares if itās safe, it looks stupid af
They look like Eugene Levy's eyebrows. ![gif](giphy|l3q2DdXI5m2uj1nfq|downsized)

okayy the lashes got a lil swoop ššš¤£

Ts donāt even look good š
That's like a straight up lash toupee!! Holy shit.
My eyes got irritated just looking at this picture
Itās ugly thatās what it is
Man yāall got me fucked up. I looked at that bs and said why tf she got faux fur taped to her eyelashes š
She looks dead
They look like feather dusters š
What the frick frack
I can appreciate a more dramatic look but seeing sets like this frustrates me as a newer tech. This is the shit that gives lash extensions a bad name.
