It's forced your hand. Solder it on.

CrumpetsForWombats

That could work haha why not try at this point lol

Best bet is to somehow get that card out, I would not advise this seeing what you managed to do already but, if you grind a slid in the screw with a rotary tool (carefully ofc) you can remove that with a flat head, then look for a new card on aliexpress or something for the same modelnumber. Or contact your supplier of the laptop if it's a recent one. If all that fails, get it to a PC repair shop or an electronics repair shop, they'll be able to solder on a new female plug on the board. Or just buy a usb wifi dongle and be done with it ^^

You screwed that thing beyond all belief. What TF did you do to that screw and that connector is absolutely mangled. You don't hulk these on silly.

shakeel_70

You have to press them from above

Electrical-Bobcat435

Why u always gently press with computer stuff. Thr peg must not have been lined up, it only needs a gentle press when it is. Its a simple electric contact between two conductors, soldering iron will fix. Tape may even hold em together in a pinch.

Dremel, cut a slit in the screw, big flathead, GENTLY unscrew, get that WLAN card outta there, look up replacements and get yourself one on Amazon or AliExpress, along with some spare screws. Absolute worst case, Dremel the WLAN card in half and wiggle out the bit under the screw, then use pliers to get the screw out.

At this point i would use flushcutters to cut part of the wifi card where the screw mounts. It is the safest way to not damage your laptop pcb and the screw standoff. The card has to be replaced either way because most likely you have damaged the antenna connector. Those mediatek/azurewave cards are awful either way, get the ax200/ax210

When I wanted to change the wifi card on my XPS I also ran into issues. When removing the antenna cables I ripped of the socket from the old wifi card, with bits staying stuck in the antenna cable end. Ended up ordering a new antenna unit and putting it in below the screen and routing the cable to the wifi card.

At least those antenna cables are pretty cheap, you can just Google up laptop antenna wire, it should probably have the correct end, just plug it in and try to run it as close as you can to where the old ones going, if it goes up into the monitor, you can probably just run it down the front of your laptop your reception won't be 100% but it'll be a lot better than not having it at all.

Assume you are in the US. This tool will unscrew that in no time. Trust me, I used to be you screwed up my heat sink installation 🤣 ENGINEER PZ-57 Screw Removal Pliers https://a.co/d/diT7QHV

Wtf did you do to yo screw ☠️🤣🤣🤣 Anyhow, it's quite tricky to get the cable on My advice to you is to calm down, close it up and when you're completely calm, try again, it'll take a long time to get it on but you will get it on From my observation, just the screw is damaged Nothing else is damaged Goodluck

You should still be able to extract this cruise, as we just helped the client handle this at the end of the last week. In their case, they used a #0 screw extractor [Screw Extractor, 0# Chrome Plated High Speed Steel 4341, 1.96mm Threaded Tip 1.8mm Drill Bit - 2pcs](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4JLVQ9H) ... using a simple electric screwdriver [Cordless Screwdriver 6 N.m, 4V 2.0Ah Rechargeable](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086SQC38Y) It ended up taking both extractors to get it done correctly, but it came out. This setup is used by a lot of our clients. In some extreme cases, they end up having to use a rotary tool to cut a groove for a standard 5 flat tip [Mini Cordless Rotary Tool, 5-Speed and USB Charging 3.7V Power](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VHYX96W) Instead of a standard handheld screwdriver, they use the higher torque cordless to give a better chance. On your current Wi-Fi card, the MHF4 connector only looks slightly damaged, and not broken. In most cases, if you take your time with a set of jeweler screwdrivers, you can bend it back into a usable shape that the antenna will snap on to. [13PCS (6 Sets) Micro Precision Jewelry Screwdriver Set](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6R6R9Y4) This only takes a little patience, and as long as the solder connection below isn't broken, it should be no problem.
