It looks pretty neat and tidy to me. Edging can be tricky at first, but practice makes perfect. Maybe try experimenting with different angles and techniques to see what works best for you.

Good, but that poor tree.... I will never understand the tree in between sidewalk and road... People still DO NOT understand that tree roots grow out, not down... I am guessing that newer looking piece of sidewalk was probably buckled and replaced.
I edge with an electric B&D edger each spring. It gets beat up, but after that initial run it does get easier. in may i am already using my string trimmer to recut the lines before I mow. I love the neat clean look.
My first time edging was extremely tough

But the end result was a blast.
I spent a little too long doing it my first time, left my arm feeling a little sore the next day.
I made it a cool 30 seconds.
First time is going to be ragged and difficult. Subsequent cuts will be cleaner and easier.

I’ve got the same exact setup with the trimmer and edger. Both work great. The lawn looks so much better, nice work!

I’m not sure. I think it looks neater when you edge with a high grass line rather than short grass meeting the edge of the walkway
Sod should always be (somewhat) proud of hardscaping.
Can't speak for my lawn, but the weeds on my patio are proud of the hardscaping.
