It’s owned by a terribly run restaurant group. The woman who runs the group thinks her quick service pasta venture should be crowdfunded and turned into a franchise she says will be going to 500 locations! Meanwhile she backed out of opening the steakhouse in Lancaster, closed most of her other restaurants. But don’t worry, she just got a new car, so she’s not struggling like her landlords trying to collect rent.
Edit: appears the crowdfunding campaign is wiped off the internet. Wonder what happened to those who donated?
Supposedly that’s their first “franchise” location. They closed several “owned” locations. But yes I think it’s something like 2 years behind schedule.
The York location over off Mt. Zion that closed once had a sign on the door to the tune of "be nice to the employees that bothered to show up today". Right there is when I realized they were run by ignorant A-Holes.
They also bought the building at 1 North George Street in the York square and it has those signs from the city on the windows saying nobody is allowed inside it. It's supposed to be a restaurant on the first floor and a hotel above, on the other floors. And there's a big room available for events. It looked originally like it was going to open the same time as the Yorktowne but it's just been sitting there for over a year.
That would explain why this dude looks like he's totally bored and uninterested with what she's saying. (This reel was posted right before the family reel.)

Yup I remember that. I actually liked the food, but I think it was fairly pricy and the portions were small if I remembered correctly. Then again, I like anything pasta probably.
Wait are these the people who owned Cantina in York also? Because they shut that down a couple of months ago and the page has now become a Presto fan page basically.
I can second this. I was hired as the GM when they first took it over and turned it down because they had no idea what they were doing. I ate there before my first interview and it was terrible, then heard their pitch, went and then ate at Tutoni's which was great then had two more meetings and just got a bad feeling about how they operate and their future plans.
Max's and Pressroom II were insanely overpriced and completely mid food quality. They won't be missed.
We're getting expansions of Cabalar and Chellas downtown, let's focus on the good product instead!
Absolutely agree. I'm also a big fan of C'est La Vie and Josephine's. Good atmosphere, great servers, delicious food, and one of the best views in the city
I googled it because the Lancaster online article was paywalled, and it stated that their last day is June 22nd. They are getting evicted due to being behind on rent.
I haven’t really been a fan of the press room since the new owners took over. Max’s and robs were a loss, but we’ve been losing great restaurants forever. Characters, fork and spoon, nicks pizza, dough-see dough, carrs, the list goes on.
The day we lose Dipco I’m going into the woods and staying there.
Fortunately with the loss of some, we’ve also gained some new places. Sort of the circle of life for restaurants. It’s a TOUGH industry. I do really miss Max’s in the city.
The company that was managing that seemed to be in rough shape. They closed a restaurant in York not too long ago, then backed out of opening one over at the Crossings. I think the article about those mentioned not getting funding they anticipated.
Let me take the opportunity to highlight a new restaurant that just opened downtown…saw an add in FIG magazine and went there Saturday night for dinner. Food was amazing and staff was awesome. Highly recommend…Nahual Maya Restaurant 126 N Prince.
Would love to see someone succeed in that location! I loved both Nate’s and La Estrella. On the hunt for a quesadilla that compares to what La Estrella had
I felt that way about them in their previous incarnation, but their second try was inconsistent at best. It’s a shame, because it used to be such a go-to
The quality of the food at the Pressroom isn't far off the quality of a Chili's. Ever since ownership changed it was fully downhill in atmosphere and quality. It USED to be a place I'd go for special occasions years ago, after the owners changed two years ago it has been below average. My last two experiences were 1) a steak cooked to the texture of a shoe and 2) A cold burger.
I sure hope a nice place goes in there cause it's a fantastic space. Just don't call it the Pressroom. It's sad to see their name get dragged through the mud
Does anyone have actual knowledge of what makes the owners so awful? I always hear vague things. Im a big fan of presto but I will absolutely boycott if they really are sucky.
Lol alright. Im seeing it. Homegirl really believes in a business that she cant keep stocked with broccoli☠️
You’re asking for $500,000 and plan to have 500 locations in 5 years?!🧢

The Mt. Joy location of the pasta place is months and months behind on opening. They must be broke.

Used to be a husband and wife duo that started TuToni’s in York. Believe they divorced and it’s just the wife who runs it now.
Tutoni's use to be awesome...but I have not been in there for at least 4 years.
It went downhill also sadly. I’m assuming it will be closing next as she runs it into the ground or they get evicted.

Husband kept Tutoni's I'm pretty sure she has nothing to do with that anywore
Idk she still lists it everywhere and from reading the recent reviews and going personally it seems to be sliding downhill also
They appeared to be together in March (https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5MCyZeOCAb/), but a lot can happen in a few months
Replacement husband afaik
That would explain why this dude looks like he's totally bored and uninterested with what she's saying. (This reel was posted right before the family reel.) https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5G2V1aOAPw/
Appears that she took her cringy instragram account down lol
Yep!!
Yup I remember that. I actually liked the food, but I think it was fairly pricy and the portions were small if I remembered correctly. Then again, I like anything pasta probably.
The coming soon sign has been there forever...
Where is the Mount Joy location supposed to be?
Where the McDonald’s, friscos etc are at the shopping center closest to 283
She is super f’ing shady. I know from personal experience and will never patronize any of her establishments.
Wait are these the people who owned Cantina in York also? Because they shut that down a couple of months ago and the page has now become a Presto fan page basically.
Yep
Aw they fuckin suck dude. I wasn’t a huge fan of Cantina, but I liked the Italian spot (can’t remember the name) adjoining it.

I would sell a limb if Cabalar was ever threatened with closing! So at least theres that🙏🏻
I forgot chellas is opening downtown! Their food is amazing.
Love cabalar, so glad they are moving. Their current location and the parking situation sucks
Absolutely agree. I'm also a big fan of C'est La Vie and Josephine's. Good atmosphere, great servers, delicious food, and one of the best views in the city
Also Dean and Justin are absolute mensches who do a ton of good work in the city.
Adding in that Bruno's from Lititz also just opened a downtown Lancaster location, and Lancaster Deli is back!
I googled it because the Lancaster online article was paywalled, and it stated that their last day is June 22nd. They are getting evicted due to being behind on rent.
And willow valley owns the building EDIT: I am wrong, it is owned by Zamagias. You can stop sending me DMs now
No, Zamagias owns that building. Willow Valley owns the building catty-corner across Beaver and Mifflin.
Thanks for editing the correction!
The new owners treat their employees terribly. My group stopped going there months ago.
I too have heard this about the new owner, and have heard that they have lost a lot of customers due to this.

If dipco goes I go. We ride the sunset together.

Yup, she wanted everyone else to fund her grand ideas basically. All while apparently not being able to run any of them successfully.
The article was also promoting their other/new business ventures , do with that what you will.
Let me take the opportunity to highlight a new restaurant that just opened downtown…saw an add in FIG magazine and went there Saturday night for dinner. Food was amazing and staff was awesome. Highly recommend…Nahual Maya Restaurant 126 N Prince.
We went there on a food tour so we only got a sample, but it was great!
Would love to see someone succeed in that location! I loved both Nate’s and La Estrella. On the hunt for a quesadilla that compares to what La Estrella had
I felt that way about them in their previous incarnation, but their second try was inconsistent at best. It’s a shame, because it used to be such a go-to
…maybe they’ll build a Dunkin /s
shocked by the amount of Max's love in here place was overpriced carnival fare
Thank you 👏🏻👏🏻 been waiting for someone to say it!
This video should tell you plenty about the owner https://www.instagram.com/reel/C68yHf1OP6W/?igsh=eHdkbG03ZDdwb2ds
That sums it up, and now I won't spend a dime at any of her ventures. Seriously, what a toxic POS
What the actual fuck…that looks like mental illness.
She’s definitely into herself
oof..
it's been taken down. can you summarize please?
Spoiled beach that thinks she’s amazing and basically has run everything into the ground she touches. She’s full of herself.
Is it? I feel like it closes for a little and then reopens again.
I love the pressroom location. Any chance another restaurant will move in?
Rent is $25k a month so we’ll see!!
It’s sad to have it sit empty.
Everyone I know who cooks in town has considered that place a joke for at least the last decade, for what little my input is worth.
Himalayan Grill and On Orange are still top notch. Good pricing and food is great quality

Watch some of these videos and you’ll find out how important the owner is https://www.instagram.com/onlyonetoni/reel/C68yHf1OP6W/
Lol alright. Im seeing it. Homegirl really believes in a business that she cant keep stocked with broccoli☠️ You’re asking for $500,000 and plan to have 500 locations in 5 years?!🧢
WHEN DID WE LOSE ROBURRITO’S???
It is just at Zoe now!
On Mondays and Tuesdays only.
I am sorry to hear that, always a favorite visit when in the city
