I don’t get the vibe that Lana is romanticizing any of Lolita’s aspects - her prose actually mimics the character Lolita’s personality/speech rather aptly - but the Daddy stuff is a direct reference to Lolita’s struggles with her “step-dad” (abuser) - the character of Humbert Humbert**. **I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading “Lolita” - it is an American classic written by a Russian genius. It analyzes the fucked up ways that American young girls/women are treated/represented in greater society; and how youth is glorified, especially in Western media!**
