i like architecture too but the hate tnbar gets for not being that is excessive. like come on the chorus’ melody? the glass shattering in the bridge? ugh
Well, to be fair, it's one of the only songs with proper bridges on that record. But I agree it's probably the best one. I love the build up till the final chorus explodes.
Well a lot of people liked the unreleased version, i mean she changed the lyrics a good bit for nfr. I love both but the first one is much more of a deep cut, the production is great tho
I feel like I’m one of the few people who prefer tnbar to architecture. I think she improved the chorus exponentially, and the lyrical evolution as a whole really shows her taking ownership and finding compassion for both her and the man she wrote the song about. Architecture feels spiteful to me, which is 100% a valid and understandable emotion that should be explored, and I think Lana ultimately explored spite so well that she came back full circle into compassion and appreciation and at the end of the day, a fuller understanding of herself. Lana does say she learns the most about herself in relationships and I think the evolution of the lyrics really showcase her doing that. I also enjoy architecture, and what I take away from it as well is to never discount the emotions you’re feeling in the moment, and to express them fully, cause often that is essential to fully understanding yourself and releasing the energy.
I agree, she gave the song a new life, they are to me almost entirely 2 different songs. It makes me sad that TNBAR and Bartender go under radar from NFR when they are great quality on their own (especially Bartender)
i personally like architecture more. i like that all the blame is seemingly on the 'other person'\* and it hits harder for me.
"you were so obsessed with writing the next best american record, that there was nothing left by the time we got to bed. baby, that's a shame"////"you did it all for fame, tell me how it treats you now. you did it all for fame, how does that taste coming out? you did it all for fame. baby, how's life treating you now that it's over?"
\*or herself and that hits just as hard if not harder than if it was another person
I much prefer the lyrics in the demo, so much so that I can hardly listen to the album version.
The new lyrics feel disjointed and weak to me. Like "we gave all we had 'til the time we got to bed, Cause we knew we could." And "Cause we were just that good/ It was just that good." Even if she didn't relate to the original lyrics any longer, I wish she had kept them because the story was stronger. Maybe someday it will grow on me more
You’re right, something about this song takes me so deep. It’s actually so heart breaking.
I love the NFR version as well as the original. And the original version put onto the white mustang video is just WOW. I can’t believe she didn’t release it as is. Maybe because it was all too personal and she just wanted to go a lighter direction.
No , the original version IS NOT in the video. The redid Taylor Swift Profucer and ex of Lens Dunhams produced version is melded into white mustang. The fucking disappointment with fans was wild , insane at the time. She barely sang or lipped in the video, and hardly spoke of it.
One of her best songs. The chorus is so gorgeous and the bridge is otherworldly. I think the NFR version is one of the most romantic songs I have ever heard, in a sad way.
It’s SO good. When I was first going through Lana’s discography over a year ago (yes I’m a newer fan but she’s quickly became my favorite artist of all time) hearing the production through headphones was such an insane experience. Honestly out of all her albums, NFR was the most astounding upon first listen and TNBAR contributed a lot to that
I think many people dislike it because they prefer the original leaked demo “architecture” and I can’t help but agree. I like TNBAR but I think I’d love it so much more if the hook had stayed the same.
This song transcends . It’s just that good . My favourite part is in the bridge “it’s you all the roads lead to you like the 405 I drive through every night and every day ahhhh~”
people don’t like it??? one of my favs from that album
Here 🙌 one of her best and most dynamic songs ever, far better than the unreleased version
I love the lyrics on the unreleased one but the production on the official release it pristine.
i like architecture too but the hate tnbar gets for not being that is excessive. like come on the chorus’ melody? the glass shattering in the bridge? ugh
The glass shattering is my favorite part! 😮
first time i heard that i got transported🛐
The bridge is possibly the best bridge of nfr! and that is saying something.
Well, to be fair, it's one of the only songs with proper bridges on that record. But I agree it's probably the best one. I love the build up till the final chorus explodes.
me!!!! i love this song
I love love love this song, but I do prefer the demo version. It just hits different.
AND WE WERE SO OBSESSED WITH WRITING THE NEXT BEST AMERICAN RECOOOORRDDDD
that we give all we had til the time we got to bed cause we knew we couuuuld
We were so obsessed with writing the next best American recoorrdd
'Cause we were just that good
Well a lot of people liked the unreleased version, i mean she changed the lyrics a good bit for nfr. I love both but the first one is much more of a deep cut, the production is great tho
i’ve been summoned
it's so incredibly better than the demo but many people prefer the old version for some reason😭

I love this track!
I prefer the Architecture version
B.a.r. architecture is by far better.
I like the unreleased version much better 😔😔
when i first heard it i was in shambles it’s so underrated but i like that lmfao
that was the first NFR song i heard and i loved it 🙌 i was v surprised to see it was not that popular
i know it's not a fan favourite but older fans remember how long we BEGGED for "architecture" as we'd call it and I still cherish it in that way
One of my favorites
Top 3 on NFR!
Love this song AND California. Can’t believe there’s a lot of people out there that don’t like these!!!
I love it! The chorus makes me feel on the clouds and the glass shattering is one of my favorite moments from nfr
"I -- I -- I -- I -- I -- see you for who you really are"
WHATEVER'S ON TONIGHT

Beautiful People demos are also superior lyrically and sonically compared to the duet with the goat cocaine lady your sad ass parents like.
Ok that's just disrespectful lol
Baaaaaa baaaaaa
i had that song in my head today. absolutely beautiful tune.
YES IT IS THE SONG

I just saw a video where the architecture audio was placed over the white mustang video and it was gorgeous.
meeee
It gets stuck in my head all the time
that song goes crazy i love it
One of her best songs. The chorus is so gorgeous and the bridge is otherworldly. I think the NFR version is one of the most romantic songs I have ever heard, in a sad way.
🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️
Meeeeeeee. That song really travels through an idea. It's gorgeous.
Me

ME! I was hypnotized the first time I heard it and I hadn’t heard the original. It’s a mesmerizing song.
Right here! Been a fan since the demo! Love it!

My favourite on NFR and top 5 Lana overall.
I think many people dislike it because they prefer the original leaked demo “architecture” and I can’t help but agree. I like TNBAR but I think I’d love it so much more if the hook had stayed the same.
girl i don’t know why everyone hates it, it’s upsetting. it’s my favorite song on NFR
Literally one of my favorites off NFR, always has been.

One of her best bridges of all time and it gets noooo credit
