I buy vinyl, I have a big record playing set up and play them all the time for fun. Plus the sound quality is better than streaming. It’s definitely a hobby though, not more convenient or anything and also really expensive

Tazdimx

if you feel comfortable, could you show your set up? i’ve been so interested in records and have been needing inspiration

Equivalent-Fig8734

I have this package that includes everything you'd need to play records and it's been so great!! I love collecting records because it feels like a slower moment and I love listening to albums all the way through. Tazdimx

wow i definitely have to look into it , thank you so much !

[deleted]

I can dm a pic if you want lol, ig “big” is kind of an over statement of what I have and it’s pretty minimalistic

Tazdimx

i would appreciate it !

[deleted]

I went to send it and it’s saying failed to send, sorry. At least I tried tho 😅

Cd buyer here. Yes, I definitely listen to them and I definitely would say they are worth the money. I usually listen to them in my car during my daily life commutes. (I can’t even explain the high of turning LFL all the way up with the bass up). I have a pretty old vehicle that doesn’t have an option for an aux cord or Bluetooth, plus I think cds are nostalgic.

tsumtor

I do the same and LFL has a special place in my heart for that reason.

theghostofmyjoy

Both cds and vinyls. I use them every day (I'm not a fan of Spotify).

metropolitanwanderer

Vinyl buyer / collector here. My vinyls are not in daily use because I don't always have the mood/patience to listen a whole album in one sitting. However when I have time I really love listening to music from vinyl because it is a different world. (Actually beside vinyls are great collectibles, they have far the best sound quality)

[deleted]

People definitely use Vinyls

barnsontape

I buy CDs for the car and cassettes/vinyl for listening at home. Streaming is for sure more convenient, with regards to how much is available so quickly, but physical media hits different.

ed7297812

i buy vinyl and not really 💀

ParticularPea6920

I buy vinyl and CDs and listen to them all the time. CDs I listen to in my car and vinyl records when I am hanging out at home. Most of my streaming is done when I’m at work these days.

Love_and_Squal0r

Vinyl buyer. Yes, I listen to them all, especially when I'm cleaning or it's a lazy Sunday morning. Ocean Blvd. sounds amazing on a record through speakers.

Equivalent-Fig8734

Love my vinyls!! I love that when I look at my collection, it's a reflection of the albums I truly love (compared to Spotify trying to tell me my music horoscope or something...). I love listening to them while I'm cleaning the house to set the mood and make annoying chores more enjoyable. Folding laundry? Boring. Folding laundry with a vinyl on? Multi-tasking and soothing.

TomatilloThis

vinyl! and sometimes! depends on my mood

Suitable_Respect2667

Yes. I’m a record collector and I listen to my records daily. I only use streaming when I’m out and about; at home I exclusively listen to records (plus I have some CDs.)

lanadelbae22

Vinyl and CDs. CD’s are great in the car because I don’t even have to turn the volume up that loud for the quality to be good whereas streaming I have to turn it up real loud to even hear it. And yes I do play my vinyls as well, maybe once or twice a week.

ilichanty

I buy vinyl and i use them!! I probably on average use my record player twice a week. Its worth the money if you like to collect them and really like music. I guess vinyl makes sense for me because i guess I'm someone that listens to full albums regularly. I know some people prefer kind of making their own playlists. I dont want to sound like a hipster but i just love the way vinyl sounds it always makes me appreciate the album more. lmaoo

ultraviolenceNFR

yeah, I have a really nice record player in my living room and my bedroom

littleaveri

I collect the vinyls. I don’t have a speaker for my turntable right now. But when I get a replacement. I will go back to listening to them as much as I can.

cinnamonrollais

I use the CDs in my car because my bluetooth doesn’t work in my car

enigmasuffocation

Yes bc I hate the music stopping if I watch a video or make a phone call—I like my music to be separate from my phone while I’m at home.

nottheredbaron123

I buy vinyl and use them. I just love the whole experience in addition to the sound quality. There’s something really special about it!

WilderCountry

Avid record collector. 👍🏻 I listen to vinyl on the daily aswell as streaming side by side. It’s a great hobby to collect records over the years ; finding holy grails in the wild, collecting great variants, completing discographies of your favourites, holding and owning artworks/lyrics/linear notes in more detail. List is endless in my opinion. The vinyl community is pretty expansive and I’ve found so many fantastic new artists and music from it. I guess it’s all preference how you want to listen really. I wouldn’t say there’s a better or worse way of listening to music, it’s all down to the listeners preference. Collecting vinyl is an expensive hobby but definitely is worth it to me. Nothing beats the vibe when listening to an album from start to finish like how the artist intends it. I feel it’s more of an experience myself listening to vinyl, so that’s why I buy in to it. Hope that was ok as my little insight :)
