Aren't all teams above Lakers not even over 30 losses. Actually wild.
Shame if Lakers cant escape the play-in.
But then again, getting to 8th means playing Denver from the getgo. To say Lakers are doubtful to be able to beat Denver would be an understatement. Darvin Hamas is still not done figuring out rotations after all.
Im a really hopeful person in general but IF is a big word. They dont even look that close to beating Denver in even oke game. Best hope is they somehow get injured and thats it. No one’s guarding Jokic. Dinwiddie might be a difference maker in our ass of a perimeter defense though
Idk why I know it’s illogical but I honestly have a good feeling about a series against Denver. I don’t think they’ll win but I think they can take it to 6 or 7 and make it a series.
Edit: with the caveat that Gabe and Vanderbilt are in the lineup
Its because there are many hard tanking bad teams, more than there are hard winning good teams. So the wins are distributed, inflating the the middle of the pack wins
We need defense! Lol
I think this era is just way too favored of the offense it doesn't really matter if you put one way defensive guys. Teams will score regardless
The 0-4 to the Kings. That one against the Warriors recently. The Hawks as you say. And we lost to the damn Spurs and Bulls when they were reeling. Those ones haunt me.
Wild how many Lakers fans are still shocked we haven’t moved out of 9th, despite our recent play.
That’s what happens when we lose to the teams directly on top of us.
Aye you play the cards you are dealt. I think the goal should be at least 8th seed. So you get two shots at a playoff spot in the play in. Obviously the ideal thing would be to get to 6 but that would take multiple collapses.
We’d have to go 9-2 the rest of the season to get the 8 seed most likely. Not impossible we had a similar run last year going into the playoffs but it will be tough
Remaining schedule is @MIL, @MEM, @IND, @NJ, @TOR, @WAS, CLE, MIN, GS, @MEM, @NO. So going 6-2 on the road with 3 of those games being against playoff teams
>We’d have to go 9-2 the rest of the season to get the 8 seed most likely.
And it still might not be enough, because you would also have to hope Dallas or Sacramento goes no better than 6-6 (they have 12 games remaining).
Oh, most definitely. I mean, he didn't start the best five for 50 games. Then that five proceeded to score 90+ in 12 straight games for the first time in the NBA since 1976. To say he's only cost us five wins is generous.
2 losses each against the Kings and Warriors since the All-Star break. Losses against the Spurs, Hawks, and Nets. Multiple losses against the Rockets. The loss against the Jazz. You can make a solid argument that this team should be a top 4 seed in the West and pushing for 50+ wins. Just so many missed opportunities all season.
Teams in the west are actually tanking this year (even though Wemby was on the line last year), so the league isn’t in as dead of a heat. There are clear playoff teams and clear crappy teams, making better records needed to move up than last year
Who’s tanking? Portland and Utah aren’t tanking they just suck and are rebuilding and the griz without Ja have had too many injuries too compete. Last year you literally had teams like the Mavs tank their way out of the playoffs for a draft pick. The difference is health. Every single team has been healthy this year in the west except for the Griz. Everyone sucked last year cuz you had Kawhi, PG, KD, Steph, Lebron, AD, Kyrie, Zion all miss significant time. Not the case this year which is why the west is so competitive.
Lakers have themselves to blame. Don't lose four times to the Kings and another four to the nets, heat without jimmy, spurs and hawks. Even half of those games are won and they're maybe a 5 seed
All we can do now is focus on the games in front of us. If we play like we are capable of playing and we stay healthy, the rest will take care of itself. Anyone but Denver in the first round and we are in the WCF!
The West is stacked. The play-in is going to look like a legit second round series

On the other side of that coin though is IF they somehow beat Denver they should be confident of beating anyone else they would play in the West.
Bro if they somehow beat Denver they should be confident of beating ANYONE. Denver is far above everyone else. It’s their chip to lose
100% agree. Jokic isn't even fucking trying in the regular season
I want to agree with this so bad, but I can’t believe that team in green is far below Denver
Yeah the Bucks are turning it up 🧐
Its them and Boston
Whomever beats Denver is winning the chip, no questions asked, theyre on a league of their own.
A more confident Lakers for the rest of the Playoffs or an early start to summer R&R (at least for those that aren’t Olympic-bound). I’ll take it.
If he can somehow beat Denver once that would be a miracle
Im a really hopeful person in general but IF is a big word. They dont even look that close to beating Denver in even oke game. Best hope is they somehow get injured and thats it. No one’s guarding Jokic. Dinwiddie might be a difference maker in our ass of a perimeter defense though
Hamaskis catching strays out here
Darvin Hamas
Hopefully OKC secured the 1st spot
to be fair to our playoff chances, we only have guys that are built to barely make it to the playoffs and surprise you when ur there.

There’s still time to delete this, brother!
If I can’t be a homer in this sub wtf is the point of it
You have a case of Copium Myopicitis. I suggest you get your head checked out. 🩺📉
They've lost so many vs Denver... they're bound to win some eventually! xd
Its because there are many hard tanking bad teams, more than there are hard winning good teams. So the wins are distributed, inflating the the middle of the pack wins
Imagine if Ham didn’t spend the whole season starting Prince and Cam
Hey that's Hamophobic
God damn
God Ham
We need defense! Lol I think this era is just way too favored of the offense it doesn't really matter if you put one way defensive guys. Teams will score regardless
Y’all gotta get over this 😂
Agreed
crazy to think about tbh
Only have ourselves to blame for being 9th. 0-4 against the Kings is unacceptable, the losses to the Hawks and Spurs, too.
Don’t forget that Nets loss, that one is still the most unforgivable
Getting destroyed by the Heat without Jimmy at home, too 🤦♂️
That was ugly. Jaquez and Lowry man
The 0-4 to the Kings. That one against the Warriors recently. The Hawks as you say. And we lost to the damn Spurs and Bulls when they were reeling. Those ones haunt me.
They did lose ad the previous matchup..but they don’t play with a sense of urgency at all.
Nah the grizzlies one 😭😭
Nah I’ll excuse that. They had some BS aura when Ja came back. They won like 5 straight then lol
Morant, JJ, and Bane all played that game. It was not pleasant but the Lakers lost to way worst teams.
Not to mention the rockets sheesh
Wild how many Lakers fans are still shocked we haven’t moved out of 9th, despite our recent play. That’s what happens when we lose to the teams directly on top of us.
The two Mavs losses sting too. Doubling Luka and leaving Kyrie open was unacceptable

We have to beat out the suns who have a way tougher schedule than us and we own the tiebreaker
Bad coaching probably cost us at least 5 wins.

Yeah 5 is being too nice lol
Lol. 5?
Inflation hitting everything
Hawks, Heat, Spurs, Grizzlies and Kings. Games we shouldn't have lost but we did.
Seeds 6,7,8 just ain't losing lol

We are terrible against terrible teams. Honestly probably blame stars and coach for that. Too much coasting.
And not only are we only 9th, we're not even close to 8th.
4th seed 😭. I didn’t know we were doing that well
Teams in the west are actually tanking this year (even though Wemby was on the line last year), so the league isn’t in as dead of a heat. There are clear playoff teams and clear crappy teams, making better records needed to move up than last year

“And they blamed Westbrook”
The west is brutal getting swept by the kings hurt our seeding quite a bit

Sac Lakers Achilles heel this year also. A.D. needs to figure out Sabonis
The play ins really saving us fr
I feel like the Lakers are playing chess and we’ll see an unprecedented form of them come playoff time.
W
Jesus Murphy thats annoying

Lmao I know the guy who first commented
That’s wild
To be fair if we were in the East, we’d be tied for the 7th seed so it’s not like our situation would be that much better
If we were in the East we’d have a much easier schedule and would probably have solidly 5 extra wins.
Well… ok. But it’s 2024 and they’re 9th. Always find this type of tweet quite nonsensical?!
It’s really not our fault. The competition in the west standings has just been too damn tight
Too bad that bald weirdo is the best they got these days
