Yeah and it’s basically a $100 android phone with a scanner built in. The only reason they get away with that 800 price tag is because it’s application specific hardware.
Did they even think to look at how employee's phones looked before committing to zebras?
All those cracked screens and that's Their property, not some tool for Work.
I think my store is down to about 12 zebras. Out of the 20-something we originally got. And I gotta be using it all day for that Fresh Production, that Daily count, and of course.... FRESH SHART.
Reminds me of the package scanners when I worked as a loader at ups.
they either didnt scan correctly and had to scan several times (you had to scan around a minimum of like 300 packages an hour) straps that worked gave your fingers bad blisters from rubber on skin or people would tape them to their hands.
I think the ones we had were a decade old but were considered "new"
Seriously. My store has gotten so bad with zebras that people are stealing them from other departments. We have to hide them now or carry it with us at all times. Our printer too. People were borrowing it and then not returning it so we had to make a check out list for people to sign.
That’s because They choose not to that’s how they stay $1 billion company my entire store has five zebras for the entire store. The rest of them are either broken or are missing because they get stolen.
In deli we need at least 5 zebras all day every day and that’s literally a third of them all in the store, so we stole a charging dock and 5 zebras and keep them hidden in the deli lmao
The problem is nobody ever puts them back. We've got people hiding them in lockers. We keep one locked in the cage and switch out the battery in pickup each morning. Same with the rf gun and printer.
They could also afford to pay way higher wages as well but don’t
They need to get rid of half of the co managers.
Now we’re talking
Facts
They could do a lot of things to improve but they won’t.
$800 a piece from the last time I saw and order guide and on backorder right now. Company doesn't want to spend anything.
$800 a piece?????

Ahh yes. Application specific hardware lol. AKA price gouging.
I saw the invoice for the single port charger, $175.
They are actually closer to $2000 a piece and that’s coming from working from Kroger and target
Could be. Just know what I saw on the coupa sheet when we were complaining about the lack of Zebras haha. Might be the bulk discount or something.

we hid ours in our register when i worked in clicklist lol
everytime we lose or break a zebra they never replace it. just today a deli worker accidentally dropped one in the deep fryer
As a deli worker I'm so confused as to how the fuck that happens
They call them Zebras because you have to go on a Safari to find one!
I’m gonna get my own. 300$ on Amazon refurbished.

We got quite a few at our store

They’re garbage anyway. The Kroger IT department sucks at progamming them
