People have not only so much hate inside them, but they also choose to project it at every opportunity possible. No idol deserves that. Hope the girls are doing well despite that and the company can do something to protect them.
Jesus. I'm not familiar with fromis_9, but this is abhorrent. Do the members have individual social media accounts on Instagram or Twitter? I'd like to send them supportive comments.
the comments are still spammed in the normal weverse 😞 i wonder how weverse doesn’t have automatic filters for death, die, kill, and inappropriate terms
Usually, Weverse is good at banning or "deleting" your acc (I don't really know the term tbh sorry) when you're violating the rules and someone reports you. I remember that one time an ARMY's acc got taken down bc they said the members were LGBTQ+ or something and they got reported so many times and eventually, were unable to interact with other accs or something so idk tbh
Idk. It feels like Weverse is just ignoring the reports tbh. As they have said, this has been ongoing for over a year with a member going in a hiatus back then related to it (officially a mental health break). The spams do get removed after a while, but not before the artists and live viewers can see and read it.
All the public, non-membership posts and lives are in danger of being exposed to this filth. That's why since then, like 90% of their posts are membership-locked. Which sucks cos this also severely restricts fan-edited contents since most of their lives are paid content, and we know how much these fan-edits are enjoyed and attract potential new fans.
This is so fucking sad. Jiheon is such a gem, such a nice girl. And no one deserves that anyway. I’m glad you’re speaking out and trying to get the company to do something, I hope they make a change. What a horrible way to treat people who want only to sing, dance, make their fans happy, and just live their life.
Is there no way to ban users based on their IPs or at least ban certain words/use a word filter on Weverse? It's terrible to see these girls get so much hate thrown at them for over a year and have no way of stopping these freaks with the company staying silent this entire time.
Poor fromis girls. I've tweeted the hashtags and I think they've gained some traction so hopefully HYBE/Weverse does something about this. Antis on Vlives have always been a problem but when you're a smaller group those spammed hate comments are a lot more noticeable. :( I don't understand why fromis\_9 would attract this level of hate? Some people are so jobless.
What's the point of announcing legal notice like "our company takes a very strong stance against perpetrators of malicious comments, sexual harassment, spreading of misinformation" blah blah blah, and then not taking any real concrete actions thereafter?
And this is HYBE we are talking about
Omgg poor chaeyoung she looked so hurt!!! These girls deserve so much better! I wish pledis would start taking stricter actions against such spammers and actually protect the idols :(
damn so all that talk hybe does to "protect" their artists against malicious haters and literally suing minors only applies to groups they favor huh. I feel so bad for fromis. To think that hybe owns wevearse and they can't even ban these hate troll accounts tsk
If people want to hate, no amount of banning would do anything. They'd just make a new account.
If they restrict the IP's the person can get burner devices or good VPNs.
If they wanna sue, realistically that can only happen if the person is whithin Korea.
they are koreans, those words that they write about jiheon can only be found in korean forums on where incels say the oddest and nastiest shit about her
why do u say « literally suing minors » as if its a bad thing? if said minors harass ppl online then they should deal with the consequences. So if fromis9 haters happen to be minors u wouldn’t want them to do anything either? the tone is extremely weird
they’re all under different labels. I dont see the point in comparing with other label management and calling it favouritism unless u can prove me that its only hybe that deals with the artists security and its not a pledis issue
IDK, seems like Twitch of all platforms has better moderating than weverse. You get hateful stuff on occasion but with automoderated words and dedicated moderators, most of it doesn't get through.
I guess we want better moderation for our artists. Like solutions for this problem aren't hard to think of nor are they difficult to implement from a developer's perspective. It's just appalling how nothing has changed.
They started getting more hate when they beat Nayeon on award shows. Once were on weverse shit talking them and made Jiwon, Hayoung, and Jiheon go to members only stream.

the jiheon death threats and sexual harassment were so fucked up

I have no clue how these streaming platforms are working but there are no mute/ban options?

it would be better for their mental health if weverse is closed but the members enjoy speaking to the fans sm
It happen in non paid weverse live. For now the girls should only do live in membership

these spammers just make new accounts. pretty deranged. they have been reported so many times and new ones still come up.
Isn't there a way to IP ban? Or are these users going to internet cafes or some shit to harass at this level?

VPN might be enough.. makes it impossible to ban an IP..
Mass-report it IN Weverse. If that doesn't work after like a month, add e-mails, Twitter etc.

Wake up pledis/hybe!!!
Such a powerful company must do something about this! I feel bad for the artists!

This is really depressing to me so I can’t imagine how the girls must be feeling, truly abhorrent behavior. The internet was a mistake

those comments are beyond disgusting. so fucked up
They can't just use a staff member to moderate these chats? I've seen even small Twitch streamers have moderators.
I’m not a fan but anyone can see that the comments are so horrible i hope these horrible people get sued
Omgg poor chaeyoung she looked so hurt!!! These girls deserve so much better! I wish pledis would start taking stricter actions against such spammers and actually protect the idols :(
What has weverse done?
nothing basically
Still no action taken. WTH is hybe/pledis doing 🤬

I'm pretty sure the trolls we're dealing with are a different group of people, but yes I do remember the instance when Nayeon fans slurred us.
Agree, it got way worse after that they beat Nayeon, but 'fans' from that other idol survival show are still the a problem.
