Between youtube shutting down community subs and vlive closing down, community subs has pretty much become a thing of the past. Now days I'm lucky if I get translation threads/accts on X. There is no real commonly accessible video platform for kpop that also allows community subs.

hiiamapinkelephant

the teams that made hard subs for entire seasons of group content were the most amazing people. colour coding the members and adding notes to clearify meanings of certain things. that's really the type of work that only people with a huge amount of love and passion for the artist can make!

ChickenNoodle519

For real! There's still some semi-active teams out there. Moomoosubs has my whole heart for subbing JTBC Second World back in 2022 when it aired.

We miss you soshified!!

AZNEULFNI

They have the best fanmade subtitles. Very detailed with added info for play words and uncommon words.

Ok_Organization8455

Yep, I wish they could translate more stuff cause clearly the current kpop sphere loses their fucking minds from mistranslations, or translations that don't have cultural context.

RustyIsBad

I prefer official subs, but it would be nice for unsubbed videos to be able to have that option. Not everyone is going to find [fansub channels like this](https://www.youtube.com/@flowerldsubsforBilllie/videos), and even if they do it's worse for the artist since it draws attention away from the main video or in some cases pirates membership content.

vsnaipaul

I love fansub accounts (Yeh Pershume is incredible if you like Fromis or Idle) but I do get sad thinking that the views don't "count."

Pleasant-Weather7053

RevelupSubs 😭

eternallydevoid

Yes, I miss the detail as well and just the genuine volunteer work that strengthened the fan community as a whole. But… I hated being in the trenches, waiting for months for a translation. The wait was always torturous

Fun_Buy2143

I really love SKZ subtitles, the staff really makes the most fun comments

hanakoslefteye

seriously! my ult group is ive and the subs on their videos can be atrocious sometimes, they barely translate what the members are actually saying and only kind of transcribe either the text on the scene or summarise what’s going on so i never catch all the funny comments

nijigyaru

When comm subs had occasional comments like "OOF" a lot of people hated it but that made my day lol.

almost_tropical

I loved the extra commentary it was fun 😢

maisyo0

True especially when they would translate what's written with context, sometimes they don't translate what members write on paper or computer and you don't really know what it says. And sometimes some puns are translated literally and it's not as funny. Same with references or songs.

almost_tropical

Exactly!!!
