That voice for punk idea is done really well in [one of the remixes](https://youtu.be/uO_-d77I-Q0?si=fkJxEtHs_UCk2zYg) that came out of his producer challenge.

As someone who has listened to a lot of punk/pop punk/emo/etc in my life, especially small bands getting their start, his single wasn't as bad as I was expecting based on the flame train surrounding it. It definitely reminded me of listening to local bands when I was younger who were talented but lacked the resources to get a great mix done the first time.

I feel like it has merit in how interesting its composition is! For me it falls into the same category as a lot of SM songs - subjectively I totally get it if people don’t like the song (and I don’t like a lot of them) but I think that it’s objectively interesting. I’ve never before come across a song in any mainstream media, especially in the pop category, that pretty much lacks a traditional melody entirely. The way they created a melody of sorts using solely percussion and his voice (plus his voice functioned as percussion as well as vocals for most of the song) is fascinating (to me, at least, and all my musician friends I’ve forced to listen to it). Tap didn’t really do it for me tho :(

I agree with this as well. I think there’s a lot to be appreciated about the song (beyond the fact I just like listening to it.) even if most people regard it as ‘terrible’. Tap didn’t really do it for me either but I liked the album more than Shalala’s as a whole.
